My Top 10: 1. Kiss (1974) 2. Destroyer (1976) 3. Love Gun (1977) 4. Hotter Than Hell (1974) 5. Creatures Of the Night (1982) 6. Rock And Roll Over (1976) 7. Dressed To Kill (1975) 8. Dynasty (1979) 9. Animalize (1984) 10. Lick It Up (1983)
My ranking would be a lot different but I prefer the 70's period. I like how the video was fast paced and you covered 20 albums at a perfect video length.
I like your style, Kid! I enjoyed your explanations of why you like one album over another, and how you gave your opinion of the standout tracks for each album. You pointed out some songs I forgot about or don't recall hearing that I'm definitely adding to my playlist! 70s Kiss is my Dads Kiss, I grew up in the 80s and love that era more as well!
Love that you give 80s kiss the credit it deserves. A lot of old school kiss fans dismiss the 80s material but in my opinion 1982 - 1992 was the best era of kiss. I personally love Monster as well. My list would go something like this.... 24. Gene solo album 23. Peter solo album 22. The Elder 21. Carnival of Souls 20. Unmasked 19. Animalize 18. Hot in the Shade 17. Dressed to Kill 16. Paul solo album 15. Psycho Circus 14. Sonic Boom 13. Rock and Roll Over 12. Hotter than Hell 11. Love Gun 10. Revenge 9. Monster 8. Ace solo album 7. Asylum 6. Kiss 5. Dynasty 4. Destroyer 3. Crazy Nights 2. Lick it Up 1. Creatures of the Night
KISS has always been a weird band for me. I love very little of their stuff, kinda sorta like most of it, and hate some of it. However, I saw them 2x on their reunion tour in '97 and it was an amazing experience. That said, I rarely if ever catch myself yearning to listen to KISS.
I'm listening mostly prog rock and hard rock albums(of course and many different metal styles) and bands like kiss or riot(riot v today) and similar, i like them, listen to them from time to time, but hardly i like to return back and listening top-to-bottom album.... one of reason i think is, even they done something different, they do it early and in the 80's when metal exploded, they not fit in that 80's era... then in the 90's every all bands, rock, prog, heavy etc... are lost in the grunge era...
Yes! I always loved Animalize. Asylum and Animalize are similar with song writing but better songs on Asylum with better guitar solos. But both are solid albums.
My favourite all time band. You had it surprisingly low but Rock n Roll Over is my favourite. Least favourite Carnival Of Souls. Most overrated Revenge Most underrated Asylum and Psycho Circus
Loving the support for Hot in the Shade and Crazy Nights, love both of those albums. Great Saxon shirt by the way, not sure if you've done it already but album ranking for them would be great.
70s Kiss was classic rock ( till 78 ) then they went with the fads of the time,disco/pop ( 79/80 ) , hair metal (83 - 88 ), hard rock ( 89-92 ) ,then grunge ,then back to classic rock
My list is: 20- Carnival Of Souls 19- Music From “The Elder” 18- Sonic Boom 17- Monster 16- Psycho Circus 15- Hot In The Shade 14- Lick It Up 13- Hotter Than Hell 12- Revenge 11- Dynasty 10- Asylum 9- Love Gun 8- Rock And Roll Over 7- Animalize 6- Creatures Of The Night 5- Destroyer 4- Unmasked 3- KISS 2- Dressed To Kill 1- Crazy Nights To note: -I like the classic KISS era, but I also enjoy the non-makeup era, although some of the non-makeup era albums weren’t ranked super high (Hot In The Shade, Lick It Up, and Revenge). -There are 10 songs on Lick It Up, and I like half of them (4 Paul songs and 1 Gene song). The songs I like are very good, but the songs I don’t like I don’t like at all. That’s why it’s low. -Same for Hot In The Shade, I like about 5-6 of the songs, the others don’t really care for. Because there are 15 songs, a lot of the songs I don’t like are filler. -Revenge has grown on me a bit. A year ago, I would’ve put it around that 14-16 spot, it’s a bit higher because I do like “Take It Off,” “Heart Of Chrome,” and “Every Time I Look At You.” It’s a decent album I’ll say. I think “Domino” studio version isn’t that good, but the Alive 3 version is killer, makes the song 10x better.
@@markmedina5543 in my opinion it is. Rock And Roll Over is a classic, but there a few songs I don’t like. Calling Dr. Love is overrated to me, I never got Love Em’ and Leave Em,’ and See You In Your Dreams isn’t very good. I would probably move it down a spot or 2 now, but still enjoy the album.
@@markmedina5543 as for Crazy Nights, I’m a sucker for keyboards. That era in glam rock was amazing to me. Whitesnake with their self titled album, Def Leppard with Hysteria, White Lion with Pride and Big Game, Night Ranger with Big Life, and plenty more. Only 2 songs off Crazy Nights I don’t care for (Bang Bang You and Good Girl Gone Bad).
Kiss.....my first love back in the early 80's, 6 yrs old. Always a special place in my heart. Seeing them in 1997 was a blast. 01. Hotter Than Hell 02. Kiss 03. Unmasked 04. When Asylum came out it was already over because in the meanwhile i discovered Slayer. But i like it now. Not sure about Crazy Nights though. And then of course Alive! and Alive II (best album cover ever)!

Great review! Finally a KISS fan who doesn't have the same top 10 ranking. \m/ My top 20: 20. Monster 19. Sonic Boom 18. Carnival Of Souls 17. Psycho Circus 16. Dressed To Kill 15. Kiss 14. Love Gun 13. Revenge 12. Hot In The Shade 11. Crazy Nights 10. Hotter Than Hell 9. Dynasty 8. Unmasked 7. Asylum 6. Rock N Roll Over 5. Destroyer 4. Lick It Up 3. Animalize 2. The Elder 1. Creatures Of The Night
Finally, Creatures of the night! on someone's number one spot on a top KISS albums list too ...My (top ten) from good to masterpiece would be...Dressed to kill #10 Asylum #9 Unmasked #8 Revenge #7 the Elder #6 Love Gun # 5 Destroyer # 4 Dynasty #3 Animalize #2 Lick it up! And my #1 pick is, ... *Creatures Of the Night*
I like my music a bit heavier, so Revenge is higher on my list. The 1st time I heard Unholy it instantly became one of my all time favorite Kiss songs.
My 19 year old Son's favorite is Asylum. Great album! My favorite rotates between "Dressed" "R 'N R Over" and "Creatures" ( Saw that tour with "The Crue" opening BTW). I cannot choose.
DUDE AWESOME FUCKING RANKING BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO SONG LOMG DUUUDE! Kiss is my favorite band and I do like every album but here’s my ranking 20) Carnival of Souls 19) Music From “The Elder” 18) Sonic Boom 17) Animalize 16) Revenge 15) Psycho Circus 14) Crazy Nights 13) Creatures of The Night 12) Monster 11) Hot In The Shade 10) Lick It Up 9) Unmasked 8) Asylum 7) Destroyer 6) Hotter Than Hell 5) Dynasty 4) Dressed To Kill 3) KISS 2) Rock n Roll Over 1) Love Gun
The early records have such a natural and smooth flow, a reason why I think the self-titled, Hotter Than Hell, Rock And Roll Over and Love Gun are timeless classics. Always felt Creatures Of The Night got some heavy stuff but gotta dig some of the later years stuff more. Anyway, top 10 TNT songs anytime soon?
Unpopular opinions in this video but dude...completely justified. You like what you like. You make solids points on why as well. Don't listen to the punks who disagree and insult you.
Really nice ranking. I agree that 80s kiss is their best era, so many awesome albums. Only thing I'd really change is switching hot in the shade and revenge, hot in the shade is pretty good but has some of their worst songs, and I really like Revenge even though I Just Wanna is terrible, but it has so many of my favorite kiss songs including unholy and thou shalt not
COTN is my #1. My #2 is probably RARO. I do like the Kulick albums as well and Animalize is solid. Pretty much enjoy all the Ace Frehley songs in KISS. Didn't realize that until I looked at who actually wrote their songs.
Hi, you may want to check out the songs that "inspired" KISS to come up with some of the deep cuts that you mentioned. Great White - "Dead End" -> reused by Paul to create the verses of "Under the Gun" (fantastic song still, I agree with you) Peter Kaukonen - "Dynamo Snackbar" -> reused by Gene for "Watchin' You" which is indeed one of the heaviest early tracks Slade - "Lay it Down" -> another one that loosely inspired Gene for "Doctor Love" (actually both Gene and Paul based a lot of their early stuff on Slade songs) Slade - "We'll Bring the House Down" -> Contains the hooligan-like chant that Gene reshaped into "I Love it Loud" Montrose - "Space Station #5" -> Paul tweaked the riff a bit and eventually came up with "Makin' Love" The Faces - "Looking Out the Window" -> it is an instrumental that laid the basis for Paul's "100'000 Years" The above are some relatively deeper cuts, some of the more blatant "inspirations" also include Free (both "Hotter than Hell" and "Heaven's on Fire" reek of "All Right Now"), Mountain ("Goin Blind" is a rewrite of Mountain's take on Jack Bruce's "Theme from an Imaginary Western"), The Who (compare "Love Her All I Can" with "Can't Explain") and Deep Purple (Paul admitted that "Stole your Love" is "Burn" played backwards), as well as the occasional copycat song such as the Rod Stewart-like "Hard Luck Woman" or the disco-template of "I Was Made for Lovin' You".

My friend had mixtapes of KISS when we were kids in the 90's and I mostly remember the 80's songs, so that's what I always preferred as I grew older. I do love the 70's stuff as well, especially with age, but I'm an 80's metal guy all around so that's always gonna be my number one love. This is how I currently rank the albums: 1. Creatures Of The Night 2. Hotter Than Hell 3. Rock And Roll Over 4. Music From “The Elder” 5. Animalize 6. Asylum 7. Lick It Up 8. Destroyer 9. Dressed To Kill 10. Dynasty 11. Love Gun 12. Kiss 13. Aw man, justice for unmasked. Its one of my favorites, I don't know what it is, I just love it. Edit: you're forgiven for putting Asylum at number 1 its my other favorite lol
As a fellow metal head, I definitely agree with your statement about their catalogue being a lot more "heavy" in the '80s vs. the '70s. That stretch of albums from Creatures to Asylum was them at their peak imo. I too think Asylum is their best work.
I'll give you a break only because your still a young pup lol. But being a KISS Fan since 1976 (Was 13 years old) putting the albums HOT IN THE SHADE, CRAZY NIGHTS in the top 5 is a KISS sin (lol). Rock ON love your channel, nice to see young guys like your self still liking and buying the 70s and 80's hardrock and metal 🤘🤘🤘

Love your list and your channel as well Bryce damn you know music! I like how you pick not necessarily the most popular like Naked City and Dirty Livin’ those are two great great songs . For non studio Kiss Alive ll is my favorite that was my first live album I ever owned and still wear it out ! Your channel is awesome keep on going man and idk if you’ve done an Accept album ranking but that would be cool .
Fantastic ranking. It’s nice to see the 80s records get high praise for a change. This was a difficult one but this is how I’d rank them at the moment: 20 Carnival of Souls 19 Psycho Circus 18 Hot in the Shade 17 Monster 16 Sonic Boom 15 Crazy Nights 14 Animalize 13 The Elder 12 Lick It Up 11 Revenge 10 Asylum 9 Unmasked 8 Love Gun 7 Destroyer 6 Creatures of the Night 5 Dynasty 4 Dressed to Kill 3 Rock and Roll Over 2 Kiss 1 Hotter Than Hell
My first KISS album was Hot in the Shade and I got to love it, cassette then my first CD, then I got vinyl from my local place and started collecting, it was a huge awesome independent shop, but I got hooked and obsessed with KISS TOP 5 1 LICK IT UP 2 CREATURES OF THE NITE 3 ASYLUM 4 Hot in the Shade 5 Revenge
Really interesting and honest list! Personally I have never found Destroyer that interesting an album too, and I love 80s kiss. I have always loved Crazy Nights and I agree it has been overlooked.

I first got into KISS back in 1978 when I was 6 years old in the first grade. I had RARO and HTH on LP, Destroyer on 8 track, which I could only listen to in the car when my dad would finally relent and put it on, and then little by little amassed the complete discography so by the time The Elder was released, it was my first brand new KISS album purchase. Then every year from that point on, ( Each September for the most part), I would buy the new KISS album. IMO, 80's KISS is every bit as good as "classic" KISS and if I'm honest, is usually my go-to era. So COTN - Psycho Circus.
Nice list bro! Enjoyed the video. I will say that 80’s KISS I’ve always been a fan of, but growing up as a huge KISS fan the 70’s stuff attracted me more. Over the years I’ve got really into the 80’s stuff especially stuff with VV
I also love Crazy Nights. I never understood the critic of calling it the "Kiss Jovi" album. The actual Kiss Jovi album came 2 years before that, it was called 7800° Fahrenheit.
I am 50 and Music from the Elder will always rank as last on my list. Psycho Circus would be much lower. Destroyer and Revenge would be higher. You really did a great job in my opinion with your list. Keep up the great videos!
In my opinion: 20 - Carnival of Souls 19 - Psycho Circus 18 - Monster 17 - Sonic Boom 16 - Animalize 15 - Music from 'The Elder' 14 - Hot in the Shade 13 - Dynasty 12 - Unmasked 11 - Dressed to kill 10 - Hotter than hell 9 - Crazy Nights 8 - Destroyer 7 - Asylum 6 - Revenge 5 - Rock and roll over 4 - Kiss 3 - Love gun 2 - Creatures of the night 1 - Lick it up Every Kiss album is (very) good !

I disagree with your ranking but I totally respect it. Most others put Asylum and Crazy Nights at the bottoms of their lists. I'm with you, I like those albums, not as much as you do, but definitely higher than other reviewers. I was 6 in '76 and Destroyer was my introduction to the band, so I'm a little biased about how much stock I put in that album, but this is your list, not mine. That's what great about all these ranking videos, nobody's list is the same. Nice work.
Ok I am a huge Kiss fan , your list surprised me big time , however you made great points and I have mad respect for your list! Great video and opinions on the band’s albums.

I just found your work on RUclips. You’re doing great! Watched your Kiss video and you nailed it. I had a couple different but only by a spot or two. Asylum is their best keep up the great work
When you love kiss…know a lot of the songs…but haven’t listened to an album because you don’t wand a bad album to ruin it…but your growing a pair and gonna listen to one lmfao
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised to see albums like HOT IN THE SHADE and CRAZY NIGHTS ranked so high. Totally agree. I personally am a huge Non-Makeup era fan. I always wish the band would acknowledge this era far more than they do. LICK IT UP, would be my favorite choice of the era, but ASYLUM holds a huge spot in my heart. Great review. Take care.
Love your channel. Subbed. However, I wanted to point out that the last album to feature Eric Carr on drums was Crazy Nights. ( or technically, Smashes, Thrashes, and Hits) as Hot in the Shade does feature his vocals, but the entire album is sadly a drum machine. :( Source: Bruce Kulick Also, Monster Rules! I'll never understand the hate. Keep up the great stuff. Cheers!
The Elder is one of my favorite Kiss albums. Anything after Revenge I think totally sucks. Worst Crazy nights, carnival of souls, asylum, unmasked, dynasty Best the first 6 with Rock n Roll being best

They started recording carnival before the reunion happened when the reunion happened they shelved the album until they released it 2 years later that's why it's called the final sessions on the front of the cd cause they were in the middle of the reunion with the original band
To me, once Kiss took off the makeup, they became Bon Jovi. I was confused on his ranking The Elder low, but then he also put Destroyer low. The Elder sounds like Prog Rock, not Elton John. BTW, Peter isn't on Dynasty either, except for the song that he contributed. Interesting that Peter wouldn't work with the band again unless they went with Vinnie Poncia as producer. Then Vinnie decides that Peter isn't in the shape needed to play on the album. So, Aton Fig is on that one as well. Tommy Thayer helped write some stuff on Hot In The Shade. Peter and Ace are missing from a lot of Psycho Circus
Carnival of souls was intended to be their next album when the reunion happened, so they put it on the shelf, as to not confuse the public while focusing on the reunion. It got leaked, so they eventually released it after the tour ended.

I’ve seen so many people talk down on animalize, which is one of my favorite Kiss albums, so it brings me joy to see someone rank it a little higher 🙌
Agreed! I think I’ve Had Enough is the best Kiss song ever. Killer opening song. Powerfull, strong melodie, awesome vocals and great guitarsolo.
Most overrated Revenge
Most underrated Asylum and Psycho Circus
Loving the support for Hot in the Shade and Crazy Nights, love both of those albums. Great Saxon shirt by the way, not sure if you've done it already but album ranking for them would be great.
70s Kiss was classic rock ( till 78 ) then they went with the fads of the time,disco/pop ( 79/80 ) , hair metal (83 - 88 ), hard rock ( 89-92 ) ,then grunge ,then back to classic rock
My list is:
20- Carnival Of Souls
19- Music From “The Elder”
18- Sonic Boom
17- Monster
16- Psycho Circus
15- Hot In The Shade
14- Lick It Up
13- Hotter Than Hell
12- Revenge
11- Dynasty
10- Asylum
9- Love Gun
8- Rock And Roll Over
7- Animalize
6- Creatures Of The Night
5- Destroyer
4- Unmasked
3- KISS
2- Dressed To Kill
1- Crazy Nights
To note:
-I like the classic KISS era, but I also enjoy the non-makeup era, although some of the non-makeup era albums weren’t ranked super high (Hot In The Shade, Lick It Up, and Revenge).
Crazy nights better than Rock n Roll Over?????????????????

I discovered Kiss as a boy in the end of 70's. There was mystic and all sorts of rumors around them. Asylum, all was gone...
My Favorite six pack: 1. Creatures Of The Night 2. Asylum 3. Lick It Up 4. Animalize 5. Love Gun 6. Hotter Than Hell
5 - Love Gun
4 - Destroyer
3 - Creatures Of The Night
2 - Rock And Roll Over
1 - KISS 1st
My 19 year old Son's favorite is Asylum. Great album! My favorite rotates between "Dressed" "R 'N R Over" and "Creatures" ( Saw that tour with "The Crue" opening BTW). I cannot choose.
DUDE AWESOME FUCKING RANKING BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO SONG LOMG DUUUDE! Kiss is my favorite band and I do like every album but here’s my ranking

3) KISS
2) Rock n Roll Over
1) Love Gun
I tend to prefer the 80s albums as well, eric carr added so much power
The early records have such a natural and smooth flow, a reason why I think the self-titled, Hotter Than Hell, Rock And Roll Over and Love Gun are timeless classics. Always felt Creatures Of The Night got some heavy stuff but gotta dig some of the later years stuff more.
Anyway, top 10 TNT songs anytime soon?
I honestly haven’t listened to them a ton, maybe I’ll try to get that done eventually
Great White - "Dead End" -> reused by Paul to create the verses of "Under the Gun" (fantastic song still, I agree with you)
Peter Kaukonen - "Dynamo Snackbar" -> reused by Gene for "Watchin' You" which is indeed one of the heaviest early tracks
Slade - "Lay it Down" -> another one that loosely inspired Gene for "Doctor Love" (actually both Gene and Paul based a lot of their early stuff on Slade songs)
Slade - "We'll Bring the House Down" -> Contains the hooligan-like chant that Gene reshaped into "I Love it Loud"
Montrose - "Space Station #5" -> Paul tweaked the riff a bit and eventually came up with "Makin' Love"
The Faces - "Looking Out the Window" -> it is an instrumental that laid the basis for Paul's "100'000 Years"
The above are some relatively deeper cuts, some of the more blatant "inspirations" also include Free (both "Hotter than Hell" and "Heaven's on Fire" reek of "All Right Now"), Mountain ("Goin Blind" is a rewrite of Mountain's take on Jack Bruce's "Theme from an Imaginary Western"), The Who (compare "Love Her All I Can" with "Can't Explain") and Deep Purple (Paul admitted that "Stole your Love" is "Burn" played backwards), as well as the occasional copycat song such as the Rod Stewart-like "Hard Luck Woman" or the disco-template of "I Was Made for Lovin' You".
Another one, “Room Service”, the first track on dressed to kill, lifts a lot from The Rolling Stones’ track “silver train” from goat’s head soup.

My friend had mixtapes of KISS when we were kids in the 90's and I mostly remember the 80's songs, so that's what I always preferred as I grew older. I do love the 70's stuff as well, especially with age, but I'm an 80's metal guy all around so that's always gonna be my number one love. This is how I currently rank the albums:
1. Creatures Of The Night
2. Hotter Than Hell
3. Rock And Roll Over
4. Music From “The Elder”
5. Animalize
6. Asylum
7. Lick It Up
8. Destroyer

My mini ranking for the KISS 78 solo albums would be
1. Ace Frehley
2. Paul Stanley
3. Peter Criss
4. Gene Simmons
It's good finally seeing Crazy Nights getting the recognition it deserves! Killer album :)

Have a nice day and I can't wait how do you ranked the W.A.S.P. Albums, greetings from Heiko
Great video, definitely a little different for a kiss list (hot in the shade is usually at the bottom and Destroyer being in the bottom 10)
Love the video footage when you show the album titles. Incredible touch
Great list! I too am a fan of the 80's stuff! The production was so polished & much better musicianship
Nice list bro! Enjoyed the video. I will say that 80’s KISS I’ve always been a fan of, but growing up as a huge KISS fan the 70’s stuff attracted me more. Over the years I’ve got really into the 80’s stuff especially stuff with VV
Bryce!!! Most interesting Kiss album list ever. Gotta tell my 80's Kiss fan mates, they'll be stoked!!! Well done man!!!

Great video and opinions on the band’s albums.

the guitar hero comment cracked me up. love your dry humor man. great video!
I just found your work on RUclips. You’re doing great! Watched your Kiss video and you nailed it. I had a couple different but only by a spot or two. Asylum is their best keep up the great work
Thanks man
Don't agree on all of them but nice to see a Kiss ranking that doesn't look like all the others. I like 80s Kiss too :-).
When you love kiss…know a lot of the songs…but haven’t listened to an album because you don’t wand a bad album to ruin it…but your growing a pair and gonna listen to one lmfao
The best review about Kiss I have ever seen........subscribed.
Take care.
I was just about to send you the link to this and say that i think you’ll love where he puts Hot In The Shade

Also, Monster Rules! I'll never understand the hate.
Keep up the great stuff.
Cheers!
The Elder is one of my favorite Kiss albums. Anything after Revenge I think totally sucks.

I’ll Fight Hell To Hold You playing in the background?! Dope dude! One of their hidden gems!
Nice to see your KISS ranking. I am working on mine for some time now and it will different then yours but with so many albums its normal. But very nice to see you talking about them and giving your opinion.
I hope Músic from the elder and Carnival of souls hit some higher places.
Now let's go... Se it.

1. Dressed to Kill
Dressed to Kill I feel is the band's most listenable album from front to back. Every other album of theirs had at least one track I could live without.
I gotta ask where you get your tee shirts from? It's hard finding shirts that aren't from shows or from whatever Hot Topic happens to have. They certainly don't have Saxon shirts.
Depends, I got that Saxon shirt when I saw them live in 2019... I lot of times I order shirts off eBay or a band’s website
How could you leave out the alive album?

Destroyer ... as 13th !?? Is this a joke ???
No. Cry more.
Interesting ranking. I love to see younger fans favorites. Great job.
Great list.
I have Asylum at no 3 behind their debut and Lick it up.
