Ozzy fans have argued about that album since it`s release. I am 52 and I remember it splitting the fans into two camps. The one side who believed it was too slick, soul-less and too glam metal while the other side just loved it and keeps that piece of sh!t album as a favorite still.
Ultimate Sin is a fantastic album where every song could be a classic. I think fans hate it b/c ozzy hated it. It is a far cry from previous albums going for a more commercial sound, but when it's done right its great. Jake E Lee is highly underrated as a guitarist.

I've heard people hate on The ultimate sin album because they say it had a glam metal sound to it. But most glam bands have a killer tone and this album is no exception the album cover is fucking badass as well it's the best Ozzy Osbourne album cover for sure.
The only thing good about that pile of sh!t album is the cover. It has potential but it sounds like the band didn`t bother putting in the work on the songs, so it sound rushed and the mix is like they play inside Taj Mahal with a big Chorus/Faser effect on it. Even the solos are boring.

let me tel ya, most people who bitch about something “glam” have no idea what they are talking about. they associate certain conventions from the 80s with glam, and its as stupid as labeling certain sounds from the 60s as “psychedelic” when they arent part of that musical style
Diary of a Madman is a masterpiece and happens to be my favorite album of all time . Love all of the first 6 studio albums , the 2 with Randy 2 with Jake and 2 with Zakk . The most underrated Ozzy album imo was Ultimate Sin , really strong album and Never is my favorite track , great song that’s barely ever mentioned .

I only own first four and rank the as such 4 blizzard Ozz 3 bark at moon 2 diary madman 1 ultimate sin But top 3 are interchangeable, which ever one I am hearing at the time is best. Ultimate was my entry point to ozzy and all rock and metal as a 12 yr old, late 85' early 86' what a great time in music and that's not to say I'm stuck only in that era as there's great bands and albums at the current time ie. Behemoth, MGLA, Mastodon, Enslaved, Tribulation, Darkthrone, Mayhem, High on Fire, Neurosis, Black Dahlia Murder, Hooded Menace and many many more!!!

RATT Out of the Cellar and Invasion of Your Privacy , Dokken Tooth and Nail and Under lock and Key that right there is some of the best music imo I never get sick of it .

@Daniel og Semen I'm perfectly fine with bark at the moon being my number one, it's always been my personal favorite, I love the whole Halloween and horror vibe of that album and Ozzy as a werewolf on the album cover. Ozzmosis took quite a while for me to get into, the album started to grow on me this year and I begin to really love that album and it's sound, The sound of that album is something you really have to get used to at least for me, I couldn't have that album any other way.
Totally agree with your no 1, even though ozzy himself seems to disown this album. If i'm not mistaken, it is the only album that was never remastered.

Zakk has said Ozzy doesn't want to be the singer of Black Label Society. Ozzy just felt his solo stuff, and BLS were sounding too similar so that's why he wants to work with other guitarist on the albums.

My two favorite albums are No Rest for the Wicked and The Ultimate Sin. The Ultimate Sin being number one. Megadeth is my second favorite after Ozzy . Keep up the good work dude.

I just got Gus G's solo album Brand New Revolution last week and listening to it I feel that a few of those songs were written for Ozzy but not used for some reason (probably Sharon) Obviously it's a solo album so it doesn't sound like Firewind but if you switch out the voice on a few of the earlier songs on the album they could easily have been Ozzy songs.

I love all of Ozzy's music, but here are my top 5 studio albums: 1. Bark at the Moon 2. Diary of a Madman 3. Scream 4. Blizzard of Ozz 5. No Rest for the Wicked Tribute and Speak of the Devil are amazing of course. You also have to give credit to Max Norman, the producer, for the magic he helped create on all those early albums.
I think your age has a lot to do with your rankings and probably mine too as I was a teen when Blizzard came out. We had cassette tapes back then and you listened to the entire cassette because it was a pain in the ass to fast forward to the next song which is why I think a lot of us old guys have such a close connection to Blizzard and Diary. To not have Diary and Blizzard as one and two is a crime but I do appreciate you helping spread the greatness of OZZY.

Good list. I'm not one to rank creative content but as a very long time fan, I feel Ozzy would be one of the hardest for me to rank. I mean, Randy is my guy. I've been a fan since right before he died. Love the classical influence. Dee is part of what allowed me to get an electric guitar. I definitely would rank Diary over Blizzard but man... both Jake albums are great and the first two Zakk albums as well. I'd probably have to say Diary is my favorite Ozzy album overall but if I could only have one on that proverbial desert island, it would probably be The Ultimate Sin.

It's funny that Ozzy never liked Ultimate Sin and yet so many fans consider it to be one of if not his best. Great album.
Zakk has said Ozzy doesn't want to be the singer of Black Label Society. Ozzy just felt his solo stuff, and BLS were sounding too similar so that's why he wants to work with other guitarist on the albums.
Patient number 9 was ozzys best album in years. It's been a few months and I still love it.
Ultimate Sin is also my Favourite Ozzy Album.

you are awesome. I take back all the shit I thought about your metal rankings. Ozzy was my first taste of metal as a kid with Over the Mountain and has been my favorite ever since. My two favorite albums are No Rest for the Wicked and The Ultimate Sin. The Ultimate Sin being number one. Megadeth is my second favorite after Ozzy . Keep up the good work dude.

I don’t consider “Under Cover” a proper studio album but in this case I would still rank it better than “Ordinary Garbage”.
Finally someone who don't put the albums with randy in number one and two on the list, thats something new, i would put bark at the moon at number one, the ultimate sin at number two, diary of a madman at number three, no more tears at number four and the debut album at number five, no rest for the wicked was also a good album, the rest are just decent albums, thanks for sharing.

I love the first two albums when it was a true 4 piece band. Back to back classics just as strong as Sabbath imo. After that NO MORE TEARS is the only cd i really throw on.

I just got Gus G's solo album Brand New Revolution last week and listening to it I feel that a few of those songs were written for Ozzy but not used for some reason (probably Sharon) Obviously it's a solo album so it doesn't sound like Firewind but if you switch out the voice on a few of the earlier songs on the album they could easily have been Ozzy songs.

I think your age has a lot to do with your rankings and probably mine too as I was a teen when Blizzard came out. We had cassette tapes back then and you listened to the entire cassette because it was a pain in the ass to fast forward to the next song which is why I think a lot of us old guys have such a close connection to Blizzard and Diary. To not have Diary and Blizzard as one and two is a crime but I do appreciate you helping spread the greatness of OZZY.

The ultimate sin and scream are definitely 2 of my favorite albums for no reason other than with both albums I am always happy to hear any song from them plus they each have some of my favorite overall ozzy songs like the ultimate sin, thank god for the bomb, secret loser, shot in the dark, let it die, soul sucker, let me hear you scream, and diggin me down
Good list. I'm not one to rank creative content but as a very long time fan, I feel Ozzy would be one of the hardest for me to rank. I mean, Randy is my guy. I've been a fan since right before he died. Love the classical influence. Dee is part of what allowed me to get an electric guitar. I definitely would rank Diary over Blizzard but man... both Jake albums are great and the first two Zakk albums as well. I'd probably have to say Diary is my favorite Ozzy album overall but if I could only have one on that proverbial desert island, it would probably be The Ultimate Sin.

While Ozzy is by no means my favorite, Diary Of A Madman is my favorite album of all time. All killer, No filler record. But a few of the others are also pretty damn great
