Everything you need in a small package for a very small amount of money guys!! Loved the footage of it churning up the leaves......and what lovely blue skies you have up there in the Midlands, better than we have down here! Great review Mark and Robonthecamera!😊 👍 👍
Spot on James! Yeah small but very perky! 😅👍 Haha it was fun but almost disappeared in the deep leaves! 😄 Yes we have had a few lovely days at the end of October but it's all changed now! Great fun at that skatepark, definitely doing that again mate. Hope all is well with you guys down there, all the best 😁🤝👊👍
Good review and showcase! HBX is the brand that just good enough to be considered hobby grade but parts are cheap and available, as you said.. good starter gift for the holidays!🎁
Great point and many thanks for dropping by my friend! Yes I agree, easy to work on and change parts so just into the hobby grade bracket. I'd be happy if someone gave me one of these rigs! Cheers! 🍻😎👍
That little truck is like a cat. No matter how it's flying through the air it always seems to land on it's feet. Pretty impressive little machine, Mark! Just non-stop laughs, and that's what it's all about!
You got that right, brother! It was our first time at a skatepark and I was a little worried TBH! But this thing just kept coming back for more - I've got tons of footage I didn't use, might do a skatepark run video! Laughs are definitely what it's all about mate! 😁👊👍
I'm so happy you watched this, mate! Not many views, a shame because a lot went into this video! Definitely a great way to start out in RC. Cheers my friend! 🙏🍻👊👍
hey there Mark!! Nice run and review! You definitely put it through it's paces and it did great. They are a great size and weight to go out and throw around with little worry of them getting busted up. Plenty of pep in it as well to keep you entertained and smiling!! Take care and hit to Robonthecamera as well!
Hi Addam and many thanks for the thoughts! Yeah first time at a skatepark and it was a blast, the truggy sure got a workout! You're right, the lack of weight really is it's strong point, very little inertia to take into a crash. All the best from me and Robonthecamera! Cheers! 🍻😎👍
Hiya mate. That looked like a lot of fun. I don't think I've ever seen you run an RC at the skate park. The one near us always has a load of surly youths on it. There are so many of these little RTR truggies that it's difficult to work out which are the best value. Would defo want oil shocks and brushless. I met a woman walking her dog the other day when I was RC'ing and she had something similar to that HBX for the dogs to chase. Anyway she had done no maintenance for over a year and it was still going strong. Drive shafts and cups rusted to hell mind so some WD-40 would have been a good idea. Anyway great review mate. Best wishes for the weekend 😁🍻
Hi Pete, yeah it genuinely was a lot of fun at the skatepark and yes it was the first time we've been there. To scary to take a Tamiya there but this little truck was a blast, we crashed it so many times I was amazed it didn't break! This is great for a beginner but yeah you can get higher specified ones but of course they cost a lot more. Nice story about the lady with the unmaintained RC - just shows how durable they are! WD-40 is an essential in the RCers toolbox! Thanks for the great comment and hope your weekend is a good one too! Cheers mate! 🍻😎👍
That's great, Mark, gotta love the HBX! You're so right, this one would be great for a beginner, and so nice you found a skate rampt to test it on also, such a lot of fun! Ironically, I do believe this one is the older version, so if you do compare to the blue one, the chassis might be slightly different after all... I love this 18th scale platform, I have the Ratchet, it's a sandrail buggy, smaller wheels, sadly they discontinued it a few years ago...
Hiya Mads! Yeah I remember seeing the Ratchet on your channel! HBX definitely make great RC’S. This one might be a rere of the original 18858, it has the latest 3 wire servo and the blue 18859 has the old 5 wire servo! Who knows! 😅 It was our first time on a skatepark and it was a total blast! Thanks for watching, buddy, hope your Sunday is going well! 👍
Nice review there Mark, that's definitely one tough little truck! Btw, do you know of any decent spares/upgrade places in the UK for HBX. I've got a set of oil shocks on order for my Duel that you recently reviewed. Only place I could find some were Banggood and even though I ordered them about three weeks ago I'm not going to get them until December at some point!
Thanks Tony! I'm sorry, I meant to say about spares in the video but forgot!!! The Haiboxing trucks are almost exactly the same as FTX branded trucks here in the UK. Unfortunately FTX hasn't released a copy of your 1/14 Duel - yet! However, the FTX Tracer 1/16 truck has most of the same components as the 1/14 Duel except for the chassis tub - the front and rear ends including drivetrain and shocks are interchangeable. My fave supplier of spares is JK-RC.co.uk. Absolutely top-notch service and the best prices with free postage, too. He does all parts for the FTX Tracer, plus spares for almost any Tamiya you can think of!!! Check it out mate - Ian at JK-RC is the goto spares guy!
@@MarkBryanRC Finding a skatepark is easy, the shocks need a lot of work though! pistons a little tight in the bore and no oil in them at all though adding some may help! I've been playing with shocks on my Saint Dragon all day so will do that another time, bored with shocks now 😂
I dig hbx. Great video and fun guys.. enjoyed.
Awesome! Yeah HBX are one of the better RTR Chinese brands. Glad you enjoyed it - Thank you!

A perfect entry point for RC. Being small scale, you can take it anywhere, and at 50%, it's very hard to damage it. Nice review, Mark 🤝
It sure is, Gabriel - I totally agree with the points you made! I'd be very happy if this was my first RC! Have a great weekend there! 😎👊👍
❤hot Video ❤
😁👊 Thanks!!! 😎👍🙏
Wow what a brilliant little truck Mark. It looked has if you & Rob had so much fun. Another brilliant video has always. Take care 😊
Thanks Kim my good friend! Yeah we were laughing all the way in this test and that says a lot! Take care matey! 😁🙏👍
It looks fairly stable 👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers Andy, yeah it's pretty good when you get used to driving such a small car! 😁👍

nice car and definitively a good car to start. And the speed's fair enough. Great presentation Mark.
Thanks Dirk, I really appreciate you watching and commenting! Yes it's fast enough for some big smiles!👍
First!! What a good-looking shell on that.
I love it, you are da man, Paul! Definitely a great looking truck, pal! :D
perfect run champ...great run😎👌
Glad you enjoyed it! It's a great little RC Truck! 😎👍
good review mate. good to see it on the skate park 👍
Thanks my mate Dom! Yeah it was a blast at that skatepark! Cheers 😎 🤝 👍

Not bad for the money, but there now so many of these out there.
Thanks Mal, yeah there is a lot of competition out there but at least we know this one can take a real bashing! Cheers! 🍻😎👍

Fun little beginner car. Now make it brushless and go 100mph!
Haha - thanks Steve, not sure if it could get to 100 but it'd be fun trying! 😂👊👍

They are durable. Brushed may not sell so good in 2024.
Thanks Jess - yes cheap and durable, I know you and I would prefer the brushless version though!
