You guys wanna hear something crazy? I have NEVER listened to Alkaline Trio in my life until I heard this song on XM radio and immediately fell in love. Had this record on repeat and then started taking a dive into their discography. Cannot believe I've been missing out all these years. Incredible band!

That's how it used to be for me back in the late 90s. Music Choice on satellite would play songs I would never hear on normal radio. Found so many bands that way. Great to hear it's still happening for others now.

It’s not normal for bands from this scene to still be this good. Weirdos.
I think a lot of it has to do with their honesty in the lyrics. They definitely found a way to mash a few genres of music popular in the 90s. Genres that A LOT of bands that were just mediocre or easy to read as not being earnest. This didn't apply to them so it really made them stand apart. Not my favorite band but when you can tell that music Is sincere it definitely elevates the sound to a whole other plateau.

He's not on the press materials because he's no longer in the band. He recorded the album and left. Atom is now the A3 drummer and going forward will be all the pictures.

The lyrics “splashing around in my blood” definitely has This Could Be Love vibes.
It's like the perspective character from Blackbird or All On Black is singing to the fictionalized subject of Sadie. Different conversation so the song is different, they're not worshiping the lady from Blackbird or half-mocking the adversary of All On Black, he's encouraging Sadie to kill everybody.
Alkaline Trio just being Alkaline Trio
Once upon a time, in the early 2000s I went to an Alkaline Trio show. Near the end of a song, a kid jumped up on the stage. At first I thought Matt was annoyed and I was waiting for the kid to get dragged off but Matt waved off the security guards, went up to the kid and let him sing the last few lyrics and then when the song ended, he took this kid, gave him the biggest hug and kissed him on the cheek before sending him on his merry way. It DEFINITELY made that kid's night and we all loved him a little bit more for being such a good sport about it. True story.

Matt’s biggest accomplishment with blink-182 is that he saved their legacy that Tom almost ruined. Matt did his job and he didn’t even know it haha.

@scottking869 I guess officially the first song I ever heard of theirs was also Stupid Kid, although I had just heard it a couple times on the radio or MTV/MuchMusic and never paid attention to who sang it. Then sometime later I was flipping thru c.d.'s at the library, saw Good Mourning, and gave it a listen solely because i thought the cover looked cool. We've Had Enough was the 1st track i randomly played off it & i immediately fell in love (especially cuz i was a huge Misfits fan at the time & they mentioned them lol)
It wasn't until a little bit later while going through all their albums that I heard Stupid Kid again and was like oh shit I never knew this was their song! So technically it was Stupid Kid, but I don't count it since at the time I didn't know who the band was and it obviously didn't move me enough to find out (even tho I absolutely love it now)

i've enjoyed just about everything alkaline trio has put out, but it's so satisfying that i don't feel i'm compromising when i say i love some of the songs on this album.
