Trust me, Latocha, buying produce at 'Curry' is a guarantee that you are getting fresh stuff at low prices. Buying the same produce in a supermarket is a guarantee that they may have been sitting on the shelves for days and the price is high. I would NEVER be seen buying farm produce in a supermarket, the market IS the place to be. Furthermore, it's always refreshing to interact with the farmers and vendors there. You learn a lot from them.
Thanks for sharing! I literally just spent $35 at the grocery store here in the States (and this is one of the lower-priced markets with a discount cart. I STILL did not have anywhere near as much produce/food as you bought. I got a 1/4 pound of chop meat, one small box of lettuce, one cucumber, 2 small cups of yogurt, one pack of wraps, 1/4 pound of lunch meat, a jar of mayo, a pack of seasoning and two piece of garlic. That's IT. $35 finished, even WITH the discount card. I miss Jamaica so much man!

Thats where Jamaicans came from
@@goldbarsuperiahspotlight7065 I just received my 23andMe results and was surprised to discover that the Ghana area accounted for 26 percent of my DNA vs. 51 percent from Nigeria. I had felt sure that Ghana would be my main contributor.
Rochielin, really, really enjoyed watching your video at the Coronation market. I was surprised how much stuff you bought for JMD$5,000 and most of which was organic grown in Jamaica. Love your Granny Lin.. keep up the good work and I will keep watching.. One Love.
Everything is expencive from market to meat shop to supermarket especiall in st james
Journalist in the making . Idk you might very well be havent read your bio just happened to come across your vid.
Such poignant topic!!! Market so organized This is the type of content that keeps me close to home. Mama sheltered us from the market now shes paying for it with back issues. The price fluctuation supply & demand crazy such a huge difference.
That was my married name Lecky.
That's the amount I spend at the market too and I pretty much bought most of the things you purchased.
I've been craving callaloo since I visited Jamaica in Dec '19. I CAN NOT WAIT TO COME BACK!!!!
When I come to jamaica definitely has to shop at coronation market, and make a big pot of red peas soup, its gonna be so awesome
Definitely!
@@Rochielin thank you (Desting the whale Nemo 🐋)
My sentiments exactly
Rochielin, you got a lot of food and everything looks so good. I'm an American and I've been to Jamaica a few times. I love, love, love Jamaica and it's people. Jamaicans are the nicest and most welcoming people in the world. ♥️♥️♥️
LOve the video." Rasta move yuh belly" Thanks
🎯
i must admit , going to the market is an extreme sport that requires alot of shop around but i enjoy doing it because i am supporting the local farmers and sellers
wow...I enjoyed this so much....you are a people person....nice
Yes,she is,share share everywhere, reach a lone jamaican out there in the world
Good information 😬. When we move to the USA we plan on visiting Jamaica regualrly. The prices are fairly reasonable and similar to us in the UK.
Love your grandma.... I'd have bought more stuff but to each his own. However I liked the video
Thanks for sharing this excellent information. Greetings from James J in Limerick city Ireland
Tell your mom the filter of the mask is only on the white side.. ""white side in, blue side out"
Also the she had on the mask upside down the part which had the inner wire is to be shaped on the nose
@@sophiabartley7059 our people child. But them again i have to deal with these people who thinks there isn't such a thing as COVID or curses me out to do my job in trying to keep them safe. At least she's been funny about it.
Yes explain to her why. So many people don't wear the mask how sad..
I love going to market, seeing the fresh fruits and vegetables excites me! Especially if you go a early Saturday morning then come back and put on the pot ah soup using all those fresh ingredients. Wah nice so!

It looks like Sierra Leone market 💕💕, much love.
This was exactly what I was thinking!
I have too much respect for my elders to speak to them in such a way.
This was very informative. I need to stop buying in supermarkets all the time and go to town more regularly.
Thanks for taking us along ✨✨so interesting to see what $5000 Jamaican Dollars will buy compare to Canadian dollars 💸👌🏽
I learned alot today, didn't know we so much importing at all...sad but survival it is.

Thank you for your video, it is a great insight to kingston market and general maket prices. I hope you continue to flourish, god bless.
I enjoyed this video. Where i live that $5000 would be about $100 and trust me, i wouldnt get half of that
😢😢😢😢 me too
Thanks for sharing!
I love how much grannyyy is loving the camer lol nice!
I love markets. I really enjoyed this video. 📹 Thank you!
Soon as I saw granny, I smiled 😊
