@@HypergaugeDIY My faucet had a bottom gasket that was damaged (I don't know how) but I found a replacement that fit at Ace Hardware. They had a two-pack for 3.97 of Pfister replacement bottom-gasket washers that fit perfectly and had the same design. There were a different color (black instead of red), but equally pliable. I found it in the same rack as the valve cartridge replacements.
@Ben Obo. That is great info. Thank you. I always like my local Ace store. Will check with them if I ever need one. Let's pin this message on top so others can try. Thanks again. 👍
Thank you sir! My faucet developed more of a 'trickle' than a drip. After watching your video, I disassembled mine and wire-brushed the corrosion on the threads - which was unseen prior to taking it apart. Short version: faucet works like new - and I had a $50 replacement in the cart at Amazon. I owe you lunch for sure! Thanks again.
Nice work. I really liked the added "accidental electrical tape strap wrench", these accidents usually teach us more than the whole process. Thank you.
Thank you very much!! I have the exact same faucet and followed the instructions step by step. And now I am the hero in my household for stopping that leaking RO faucet
Really appreciate your video. I used aquasana filter system and the faucet was leaking for weeks. I thought I have to replace some washers or something. After I followed your video step by step, clean the rust and lime inside, now the faucet stopped leaking completely. Thanks a million!!!
On the older style spigot, I poured distilled vinegar over valve mechanism, worked the valve on and off several times and the leak stopped without disassembly of anything. Good video.
Thanks for watching my video. I use the same trick for shower head, and it worked great. Just a friendly reminder, vinegar mostly use to dissolve calcium deposit. RO system should not have calcium buildup. Maybe you want to check the filter. Good luck with your project.
Great video but an extra tip i can give is the big white tank(under your sink) that your clean water sits inside of should have a blue colored valve(looks like a flap) on the very top of the tank sometimes its on the side of the tank. Just turn that valve to the right all the way (just a quarter turn usually)until it doesnt turn no more and that will cut the water supply to your RO faucet(still turn the bigger valve off at the wall). That way you dont have to wait for all that water to drain into the pan like our friend did in the video. Just a suggestion but his way worked great as well. Thats my contribution👍🏽👍🏽good luck to everyone👌🏽
Thanks for watching my video. Some newer models do have this shut off valve design, but unfortunately mine is an older model that does not have it. It should be a good idea to add it during the next filter change.
Thanks, your video helped a lot. I was desperate and was going to buy a new faucet. After I followed instructions of your video old is working as a charm!
Thanks for sharing my Son sent it to me after he fixed his drip! We both have the same system, but mine lasted longer than his! When he was asking about the solution I had never had a problem/.
We've had ours go the same way, I knew roughly how they come apart, but it''s VERY helpful that you've led the way - thank you, takes away the mystery. A couple of times, with such leaks, our service guy often swaps the whole tap out free of charge, fits a new one - I've often pondered if he refurbishes them at his leisure, but as he's never charged us, is fairly priced for his other work, I've never questioned it. And your happy accident with the tape? Genius! I hope that works for me too!! Word of wisdom to the wise, we leave our tap (faucet) over the sink, especially at night, then any drips/excess drains away, down the sink/plug hole ;-)
A super helpful and chill video, I love the vibes! I'm stuck now at the point of trying to get the handle off. The screw and its little washer are out, I can even unscrew that part you used the tape for, but I can't remove it, or the handle, they are somehow stuck 😭
Sorry to hear that. Here are few ways you may try to unstuck. 1. Carefully pour hot water on it, then wear glove with good grip to try remove it. 2. The problem may also be caused by dirty or calcium buildup. For that you can use vinegar + salt to try spry or soak the area for some time to try to get it loose. 3. I have a video using super-cold liquid air to unstuck a fishing rod. In an extreme case, it may work too. Link of the video here. ruclips.net/video/LmZT3KJgm2c/видео.html Good luck
Appreciate your video, at first I thought I fixed mine because I just twisted tissue paper where it was dripping and that seem to stop the leaking for 5 mi utes only (got rid of air) I will try your way Thanks
Instead of electrical tape to prevent marring of the finish, I just wrap a dish towel around nut. Much quicker, usually close-at-hand and works great :-) Thanks for the video!
Also, big tip here. Cover up your drain hole!!! When I popped out a metal washer that was holding in the mechanism, it was pretty tight so it popped out and almost landed in the drain. With my luck, I was really surprised it didn't.
@@HypergaugeDIY My faucet is over 10 years old I didn't even get pass the faucet screw stage. There must be so much calcium I can't even get the screw out.
@@JasminsBoss If the problem is calcium deposit, I would suggest soaking the area with vinegar mixed with a small amount of table salt. That will help dessolve the calcium and hopefully get it loose for you. Good luck with your project! 👍
This was really greatly explained. Mine was almost exactly like yours. I was able to disassemble, clean, and reassemble as you did--twice-- but sadly, mine leaked even worse than before. I think I need a new one.
If I were you, I would disassemble the entire faucet to check the problem. It is not common for a leak directly from the base because there is really no moving parts there. If the leak is from a connector, it is possible to fix it with some Teflon tape. Good luck with your repair.
What music was used to make this video? It's very relaxing and it's been a hard couple weeks for me - I really, really like this music. I'd love to listen to it more if I could.
That may work, but black electrical tap usually does not leaves goo on surface especially stainless steel for short period of time. Duct tape on the other hand is not a good idea.
Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I don't think they sell any replacement parts. Changing the faucet is not that hard. This is the ro faucet with air gap amzn.to/3ZdlWuP Best luck with your project! 👍
After the screw is removed the handle should be simply slide out of the housing unless you have a different design. It is possible that you may have another lock down screw/bolt that is holding it. You may want to check the schematic of your faucet. Good luck with your project!
If you look under the sink area, there should be a big washer/nut (maybe called another name...) You can use a wrench to turn and screw it up and it will secure the base down. Should be very straight forward. Good luck with your project.
Thanks for watching my video. It is not normal. If this happened after putting everything back together there maybe something is not putting back in the right order. You should also note that the screw for the handle should be hand-tighten only. Good luck with your project.
I recently bought a under the sink filter . I installed it myself but when I turn the water the tubes keep getting push out . Idk if there looses but I try righting them with a wrench. I finally got one end from the cold water the “ t” to tighten . But now the cable connecting to the faucet comes loose by water. Anything I could do ?
I guess you may have a installation problem. Most hoses connection in the RO system use compression fitting. If your system use this type of connection, You will need to make sure the ferrules is installed correctly.
My little cap sat too deep to extract with fingernails, a screw driver, or even a sharp little knife, so I drilled a tiny hole in it. There might be a better way,?But at least it worked.
Thanks for watching my video. Other ideas to try is to use a little bit of WD40, or pour some hot water on it may help. I am happy that your faucet is working again.
