Forgot to mention that the page turning buttons are on the left side instead of the right side that typical ereaders have. It took some getting used too especially coming from the boox page. I'm right-handed, but I can see it being a problem for left-handed people when it comes to annotating. @ReadwithAlyssa is left-handed and told me about that being an issue, so make sure to watch her video once it comes out!

Also, the capacitive pen is battery-powered. I've had this for a month now and have not needed to replace them yet. And no, it isn't magnetic. Bigme has another ereader that you can connect your pen magnetically to the device, but that one goes $150 or so more.
I also forgot to do a size comparison with my other ereaders, but it's heavier than all my other devices. You'll definitely need to add a pop socket when you want to read it for long use, laying down. I like using this more when I'm sitting on my desk or sitting up on my bed when I'm annotating.

I've been using this for almost a month now, and it's been stepping up my reading game when it comes to annotating!
I could have decorated the case, but my stickers didn't fit the vibe, so hopefully, in the future!
I know kobo just announced their new color ereaders, and it looks like the kindles will be next in 2025! I don't need another ereader, let alone in COLOR, but I've been wanting to try out a kobo ereader since last year, so I'm hoping to get it in a few months PLUS i want to compare the two! Probably not a fair comparison because this device is a BEAST with all the features and because it runs on andriod!

Hi! Do you know if it can be use to read on websites like ao3 and use the web translator (I like to read a lot of fics in different languages)? I already have a Kindle but I have been looking for years for a device where I can read books, comics and fanfiction all in one, but I have never found one that has a working translator (one that translates the entire chapters like the ones in phones, not just a word or phrase).

Thanks for the video ! I'm trying to decide between this one, and the black/white version. Ive avoided color because of the darker screens when not using the light.
Can you comment on how dark the screen is for reading when you don't use the front light?? Thanks !
Hi! I'm so sorry for the late reply, but the front light is basically the same as the new kobo colors. From now on, I'm going to try my best to show how that looks like in video and in the dark, so my apologies!
How is the built-in light? Compared to kindle or boox page? Does it get bright?
Is the screen color noticebly darker than on kindles if no light is turned on?
It's the same as the boox page. I've noticed that these other ereaders aren't as bright as the kindle..

Not sure about the kobo app because I don't have a kobo myself or their subscription. YET! I found some free ebooks (epubs and some pdf ) for free online via vk.com 🤍
How do the side buttons work on the Kindle app? If you set your reading mode to scroll (in the Kindle app) do the buttons do anything? Thanks, and great channel!

Would you recommend the new kobo color that’s about to come out
both are going for the same price, but this one comes with the pen included and ofc this one feels more "open world". You can even access the kobo app, but I'm not sure if it will allow us to annotate... might go ahead and try out kobo plus on this thing. Also, this isn't left-handed friendly, so keep that in mind. (I'm right-handed, so I'm good, but that sucks tho.) if you live outside the states, it's going to cost more. I'm thinking of getting it, but I need to sale one of my ereaders in order to get it lol. I'm waiting to film a comparison on my current ereaders before than though.🤍🤍

I used to suggest the regular Kindle, but I've since changed my mind! If you don't care about color, I'd go for the boox page if you want to be able to access several reading apps! Boox also has a 6" ereader for less if you can find it online! I'm going to make a video later on about all of my ereaders, so you can better decide which one will work for you better!💗💗

I bought this to replace my oasis that i love ❤ but when this arrived i returned it within a few hours. I expected faded colors and the lighting to be dimmer than kindles but i did not expect the resolution to be so terrible. Even with changing the eink settings. Manga doesnt look half bad but words look so grainy. Apperantly this is a limitation of the Kalaido eink display. So for anyone considering i would be wary. Resolution is too big of noticeable downgrade from oasis. I am now patiently awaiting a boox palma just to read manga and keeping my oasis after all 😅
It is good that you returned yours. I am stuck with mine, wasted £300 on it. The seller only accepts replacement not a return and refund.
The software is so buggy that it is unusable. The hardware is very cheap, dark screen even with front lights on. Battery then lasts for 1 day due to front lights, shadows, fading colors, poor customer services… 😔

Just the xreader unless other reading apps have that option, but last time I checked, they don't, unfortunately. The books I annotated on were epubs from the web that I transferred over from my phone.

It looks pretty cool. I’m not that interested in having color on my e-reader. So I’m not sure that it would be worth it. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been reading webtoons/manga. I also like how you can download apps. Nonetheless, it’s still cool that they’re making them!
I haven't been reading as much mnahwa/manga this year either. I have my moments where I strictly just read novels, but it's good just in case and especially when I start reading them again! Tysm for watching!🫶🏼🤍

Before your purchase, make sure the shop offers return and refund (shipping fee paid by the seller).
I am stuck with it for £300 because the seller only accepts replacement for the hardware defects. But the product itself is a big failure with buggy software and fading colors etc. Hurts my eyes even more. 😔
