Thank you for the review. I'm a long time Kobo user and currently have the Forma. I've debating picking up the Libra Colour and I think your review sold me on it. I agree, as a Canadian the Kobo makes book purchasing and borrowing easy. As for my TBR list - it's the year of fantasy for me. Catching up on all things Sarah J. Maas at the moment.

I finally finished "Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" it was such a great book. Truly enjoyed it. Sad it's finished now though. I miss Evelyn, she's such a badass. 😂

I have a super specific question I haven't been able to find an answer to... what happens if you annotate a library book that is returned to the library/removed from your device? Do you get to keep the annotations on the device, or do they get wiped with the book?
P.S. Your dog in the background... SO cute. I had to pause, because I don't want to miss the device, but I wanted to appreciate your sweet pup, too. 😂

I'm so glad you found the comparison helpful. Regarding your question about annotating library books: from what I've researched, you don't get to keep the annotations once the loan is returned. Unfortunately, the notes are tied to the specific copy of the book and get wiped when the book is removed from your device. Have a great day!!

Would you be willing to show us how to load books from Google drive to the kobo? I have a ton of downloaded ebooks and I’m about to transfer from kindle oasis to kobo library color myself & that’s one of the things I’m interested seeing in action.
Kobo also has Kobo Plus which is similar to KU. About the same price, not as many books as KU but they are adding content all the time..

It is slightly more yellow, but I can only really see it when comparing side by side!
It's yellow to make it easier on the eyes. Like when people write on yellow lined paper. It's warm lighting which Kindle also has.
Great review. I am also Canadian, from Vancouver. I had to return a Kindle Paperwhite as I realized that it was not compatible with the Libby app, already on my phone. Is the Overdrive seamless with the Libby app on the Kobo? Are there a lot of steps to connect with your own public library page? Merci pour votre review!

Books that I borrow with Libby automatically download to my kindle
Hey! Im assuming that when you annotate on a borrowed library book, the annotations dont stay after the book has been returned. Is that correct? BTW this was an amazing review, you hit every box!

Do you adjust the brightness a little higher than a normal kindle? a lot of comments online talks about how dim the screen is than a normal e-reader.
To be honest, I do have to adjust the brightness settings a bit more than with the PaperWhite, but it's nothing major like the online reviews I've read while preparing this video!
Can u read ebooks from Annas Archive on Kobo?
In my country, Manga is Black and White. So I bought Black and White e-reader, because I don't really need the color.

how about synchronisation of kobo device with kobo apps on other devices? especially when you don’t buy the book from kobo.
From what I have experience, you need to buy the books from the Kobo store in order for it to sync with Kobo apps on other devices. I have not figure out if there is a way to do this with books from elsewhere yet!
@@marypivin awww that’s a bummer. I love to add books i bought from elsewhere and really bothered if it’s not synchronised at all my devices.
Something else to consider: Kobo devices support .epub ebooks natively, Kindles do not. Calibre makes this less of an issue but with Kobo you can literally drag and drop your DRM free ebooks without the need of conversions. I love the Kindle as a device but them pushing their store so hard in the homescreen and not supporting open standards is unacceptable to me. I'm looking for a Kobo now, just not sure which to get (Libra Colour, Clara BW or Clara Colour...)
The Drive integration seems extremely convenient too, I wish they also put that on the Clara devices, really shitty that they don't.

Do you feel like it's difficult to read outside? I've seen some people say that its screen is darker than the libra 2 or Kindle anda that makes reading outside harder.
Hi! I read outside all the time and personally don’t have any problems with it. Yes, it is different from the Kindle because it uses a different technology to display color, but it is not hard to read by any means 🥰

Does it have the black background and white font for night time reading?
Yes it has dark mode!
Can you use Kobo to read e-books from the library app Libby??
I have not try it unfortunately, only overdrive!
Yes, does so through Overdrive the same backend that Libby uses as it's owned by the same company. Any holds and loans you have in your Libby account should work with the same library card when you login on the Kobo.
I just looked it up and it said you can use Libby on kobo
Hi can I ask - if you touch the screen does it turn the page or do the buttons turn the pages only? If thats the case, this would be a game changer. I really dislike how my Kindle is always turning the page just becasue I accidentally touch the page

It is hard to say because it is a toggle bar and not a font size 🙃 I’d say I bring the toggle to about the first 1/3 of the bar! Hope this helps!
What is the battery life like?

Is this compatible with any other stylus?
I’ve seen on TikTok some other styluses that work, but I prefer to use the one that is meant to go with it so that it works perfectly!
I'll stick with my Oasis. The buttons are a game changer for sure.
