Many times in life we get disappointed when things don’t go according to what we had expected. When that happens with God-when He doesn’t do what we had hoped or expected-it can lead to a frustration with God. In Matthew 11 we see this happening with John the Baptist when he finds himself in prison and God seemingly ignoring his situation. John begins to question whether Jesus really is the Messiah. Have you ever struggled with frustration or discouragement because God didn’t do what you had hoped He would do? It’s not uncommon. And God can handle our discouragement. In fact, He is the One who can help us through it. Follow along with Pastor Gary in today’s Bible study entitled, “Expectation Frustration.”

Help me to fall forward Abba, Father. I put my hope in Your unfailing love. Please dissolve the bitterness of unforgivness towards others in me. Help me to forgive as You have forgiven me Jesus. I can't do this without You. In Your Name Jesus, thank You Lord.
Exactly, God's not obligated at all. Most beautiful thing is, he's still faithful and loves us.
His care preserves our soul.
Thank you for this sermon, i have never heard it preached this way❤God bless you & your family
Thank you Lord.
Nice preaching🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳. What I took home is that I shouldn't run away from God because it is only from God my treasure comes. Hence forth not to become frustrated, I should concentrate on what God is doing and forget about what I thought God is not doing 👏👏👏👏

John the Baptist was not frustrated for himself and his own circumstances; rather, he was expecting (as were the Jewish people) the Conquering Messiah of Isaiah 11, not the Suffering Messiah of Isaiah 53.
I think it is a combination of expectations: a conquering Messiah and John.the Baptist' circumstances. Thank you for sharing your comment.
