Controversial contemporary of all the great CW/Americana artists of my youth. As a Black fan of the genre and a Tucson swing dancer, folks eyes would turn to to me to look for my reaction his most controversial song of that time, 'They Ain't Makin' Jews Like Jesus Anymore'. I loved the song lyrics and its confrontational message and made sure I played it for my Jewish buddies that hung out at Ruth Kaplan's house on Tucson's Eastside. They loved it too! RIP Kinky Freidman!They Ain't Makin' Jews Like Kinky Anymore!
