She was at a book signing years ago and a guy who had been standing in line finally made it to the table with a photo for her to sign and security told him we don't allow photo signing - just the books. It was an old black and white photo taken in Vietnam at one of her shows, and she said 'it's okay - he's one of my guys'. She was one of the few celebrities who supported us in the military in Vietnam and she is a fantastic person.
GREAT story! Would never happen with Hanoi Jane! 🤭🤗🙌

To be so shy and gracious during the interview she is a total bombshell when performing. Original and always will be.
That was one COLD studio!!! 😀
God Bless Ann-Margret!
Indeed.
God Bless the A/C!
"Knockers up!" As Rusty Warren used to say.
I’ve just realized she has eyes like Elvis’s 😳
I was always told it's rude to point.
As a young boy growing up in the 70's Ann Margret and
Raquel Welch were my dream girls😊.....heck... they always will be!!
I seriously believe that seeing Raquel in One Million Years BC helped bring about the onset of puberty.
Hey, stay away from my girls!
My dream woman was Leslie Esterbrook from Laverne and Shelley and the Police Academy movies 🎥. (Sergeant Callahan) She was hot!!! Especially in Police Academy 5, when they went to Miami Beach. Wow!
You can throw Sofia Loren in that mix, too. Ann had such a sweet, gentle, calming voice. Too bad celebrities aren't that down-to-Earth anymore. Too much ego nowadays.
Love Anne Margret . They don’t make em like her anymore. I just read an article about her and at 81 she still rides her motorcycle. What a lady
Cool!!
Yes but the plastic is not biodegradable.
GOD ALMIGHTY!
Definitely rides too. I would volunteer 😊
Gorgeous . My dream woman
Carson is the gold standard. He set the bar so high that no talk show host since has been able to reach it.
I think he was inept.
US chat show hosts are wooden. Cavett seems the best from then.
He took the tonight show with him when he left
Fact.
Amen. I've never watched another late night show since he left. He was the best.
Not only was Ann Margret beautiful, she could really put on a show.
I briefly met Ann at the Don Kirschner Rock Awards in the 70’s. She was not as tall as I thought. But she was in perfect proportion. She was so nice to everyone backstage. No attitude, already dressed and ready to go and I caught her glance, she smiled, and at 19 , I smiled back, and that was it. She had IT. It was like a thunderbolt 😅
Appatently she as pretty petite.
I had a similar experience with Angie Dickinson at a Florida airport. I gave her my floating ship pen and got a hug out of it! Lost her autograph somewhere…
I'm 56 years old in 2024.....she was before my time but I thought her voice was as sexy as her smile and shape
She was gorgeous back in the day, and still beautiful today
I will always remember her with Bob Hope in December 1968. I was a young, homesick G.I. far from home for the first time and was fortunate enough to be there when Bob Hope came through. The most striking thing I remember is her coming back at the end of the show, in a very fancy white gown, on the make shift stage, and inviting any G.I. who wanted to to just come up and talk. The line was long. I couldn't stay....but the last vision I had of her was her kneeling, head bent down, in that gown, to hear what a G.I. was saying. I can not over state what that small action meant to all of us. I have mad respect for her.... and all that Bob Hope did for my brother G.I's for so many decades!! .
Awww this made me smile. What an era! First and foremost - thank you for your service, sir. And if you havent already, please try to find and read "Dear Bob..." Wonderful book covering his many wartime shows and correspondence over the years with many of the GI'S like yourself. Fantastic! It'll bring you back in a heartbeat. God bless. 😊❤
I once saw her as she was entering a Vegas hotel. I said out loud, "Miss Margaret, thank you for Christmas day 1968." She stopped, turned and said, "you're one of my boys". I said I was there in Long Binh at the Bob Hope Christmas show and I was wearing a Vietnam Veteran Special Forces baseball cap. Are you here for my show? No, our visit was last minute and we hadn't planned ahead. You got it, I received VIP seats for my wife and I. God bless you Miss Margaret
God bless this man for his ability to maintain eye contact
😂
Had to be har... I mean tough !
You mean Ann, right?
I’d have been a deer in those headlights.
All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of the Lord.
A fine example of a 100% attractive, all naturalĺ woman. No tatoos, no piercings, and that always beautiful smile❣️
Nor inhuman hair color.
Looks like no bra either...

Not here, but she wore some lovely exotic earrings in her day.
She was a goddess to our troops. She called “My Gentlemen”. They loved her and she loved them.
She freed 'em long before it was popular, and thank you, Ann, for doing so!!!
What an absolute dynamo! Stunning. I really miss watching Carson every night. He was the absolute best of the best. No late night host now can hold a candle to him.
Hes on Tubi, I watch him all the time.
Letterman definitely had his moments of hilarity, but the only consistently funny entertainer since Johnny Carson IMO is Conan O'brien.
You said it. They’re all political, and not funny at all.
Totally agree.
@@sonjar1853totally agree. I used to like Jimmy Kimmel but he got so political that he wasn’t even entertaining.

Being born in the late 50s, I idolize Ann Margaret. What a bombshell and terrific actress. And at 82 today, she's still a beautiful lady.
I loved the Johnny Carson show.
I still watch his reruns on ME TV every night. And man, does it bring back memories. He was the KING of late night talk.

He was a complex individual.... speaking of Carson. Apparently he could be a difficult person away from cameras. I guess that isn't difficult to imagine.....lots of people have different sides to them. He was a funny guy though. I watched lots of late night TV......he was the best at making me laugh...... followed by Craig Ferguson and Jay Leno. The others..... including Letterman.....in my opinion..... not worth the watch.
Makes me think of my mom and dad listening to them laugh at his show when I was in bed late at night.
she is the exact opposite of the person you expected her to be by her movies
People don't realise the amount of hard work and practice/rehearsals that go into performing on that level, especially solo like Ann Margaret did. Making it all look easy and natural is hard work. What a beauty and a talent!
She is hardly an accomplished dancer unless you count her lack of a supportive brassiere

So nice to look back at how interviews used to be conducted by people like Johnny Carson. He seemed genuinely interested in the people that he interviewed. Elvis liked underage girls, and she was an adult woman, so no.
@@diwi5823 In his twenties he lived with Priscilla starting when she was 15. Very much underrated. The forces behind her tried to portray her as a simpleton.
Ann-Margret was in her mid 30s here. Stunning.
In the middle 1950s when Elvis appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show, the cameras were required to film him from the waist up. If this performance of Ann-Margret appeared on that same show, the cameras would have had to have filmed her from the neck up. 🥰😍

I love Ann Margaret. So sweet, shy and soft-spoken in an interview but when she performs she's exudes such confidence, grace and great energy. Is a devout Christian as well.
The actress that starred in a movie called Carnal Knowledge must be a "devout Christian." By the way, same as ignorance being a devout Christian is not a crime. At the same, same as ignorance being a devout Christian is not a virtue. German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche described Christianity as a blemish on our civilization. By the way, the Christian Bible is the book of slavery. When the South seceded from the Union to preserve the institution of slavery they would argue that the Bible condones and endorse slavery, and that happens to be a fact many "devout Christians" seem to be unaware of.
If she was devoted to Jesus why is she showing her nipples like that and in bed with 18 men?
