She's 52 here, OMG - stunning!!
Unreal. I would never had known. She’s gorgeous.
She is stunning. I had no idea. 52?! Stunning. ❤
She was pretty hot, and better a huge Laker fan.
A honey bear.
She was stunning and she knew she had quite the set and felt it was worth showing/flaunting them in this national TV appearance. It said a lot about who she really was as a private person rather than her stage persona which was a girl-next-door type. Lore has it that she loved her trysts and between the sheets play, and obviously she had a bountiful bosom to charm a man off his feet. I wonder what size she was back then, and I bet my last Andrew Jackson that her pair were natural, not enhanced.
I enjoy the slower pace of conversation. So natural and calming.
Is it really that slow? Loll there simply talking at a normal human pace
Johnny's suit is pure seventies, bold and out there, wide collared shirt and huge wide tie. What great times those days were. I was twenty years old when this was aired and I still miss those wonderful years. I always loved Johnny's shows he was the best.
His suit looks like a couch my grandmother use to have.
@@williamclarke2020 She had a grovie couch!
Its just a personal opinion but Ol' Doris sure seems like shez got a chip on her shoulder. She was incredibly vain -- infamously Vain...to the point she insisted on having " soft focus " used in her movies beginning around the sixties ( check out some of her 1960s flicks). But I've GOT to say she handled the air - head Carol Wayne with the utmost class.....!
Doris looking fabulous & love the outfit colour & design. Doris a beautiful lady actress & singer 😊
She was a great lady. I was a big fan of hers. Loved his show. She was a great mom. It’s too bad she had only one child but she found many in her animals.
I have always loved Doris Day. My favorite actress EVER!
Wow! 52 years old and gorgeous!
Doris was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
Good gracious! Headlights are on bright! lol
She looks awesome! 😍 I would have had trouble concentrating! Johnny was a true pro!
yeah it looked a little chilly in there.
A truly attractive woman in every respect. Doris Day was one of the few women of Hollywood who preserved her self respect among the debauchery of Hollywood. She seems, still, to be the woman we simply want to meet. God bless you Doris.
❤
Get
Rid of the hangers on
Doris Day.. 💐
Beautiful...Elegant...Gracious...Lady !!!
Can you imagine having to look at these 2 guests in the eyes?! Love it!!
Who's the airhead sitting next to Doris Day?
Carol Wayne..?
@@randyprenat6080 thanks
@@Silas.Marner Carol Wayne was a side kick for Johnnie. She drowned in Mexico and may have been murdered.
@@kookietherapy9398 that's horrible
She knew exactly what she was doing…
I can not believe I’m watching Doris Day on the Johnny Carson Show❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
One of the greats who is not spoken about enough. One of the great real strong women of cinema.
More of Doris, please! 🌼
Unfortunately she died in 2019.
@@robinholbrook6576
I'll never forget that day. 💔
@@karenleemallonee684 You will never forget the day she died? Why is that??
@@robinholbrook6576 I
Doris had been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl & watched my first D.D. movie! I wanted to become just like her, of course I could never come close!
She had just had a birthday a couple of weeks before (or so). I lost it when I had heard she had passed, she truly meant a lot to me!
She lived such a long, lovely life, she had her share of heart breaking sorrows, but kept moving forward!! She was my personal hero!!!
When I was 8 I would get out of bed I watch the Johnny Carson show through the crack of the door well my parents were watching TV. I got hooked on his show. He is the best late night talk show host. I still watch Doris Day movies. She was the best.❤
Carol is lovely, Doris had a couple of good "points" but what about Johnny's jacket?? 🤪
In the 1970s DD was liberated in every way! A super sexy striding woman of immense talent and no ego and outstanding love for the innocent animals - DD was something else!
Very true!
Doris is definitely embracing the au-naturale 70s!
Perve
@@20alphabetyes Jonny was
The nips were what I noticed in the Thumbnail 😂🤣😂🤣
Fo sure the headlights are beaming😜😜
The best body!
A real STAR with tons of class.
I remember this one! My husband kept saying how cold the studio must have been.😮
Haaaah! (She knew exactly what she was doing... just like Anne Margaret, when she appeared on the show with the twins.)
😂
That's what I thought.. it was for PR.
Maybe she was just happy to see Johnny...
lol - the headlights - what a body!
She never looked better! Wowzers ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Doris Day, was simply lovely. In every way. Such a sweet lady.
Nice to see a time when people totally disagreed but respect prevailed.
I imagine it was hard for Johnny to maintain eye contact.
It was hard for me
High Beams were definitely bright. 🙂
@Red-rl1xx Yeah, I imagine it was hard for Johnny, two... I certainly got hard...
Hard on me for tooo
And to think she was 52 in this appearance. Stunning.
She was glad to see Johnny or it was an awful cold room.
Missing my grandmother tonight. “Her generation”. She LOVED Doris day. I guess that’s why I’m such a fan! Love the Carson show!
Doris has her high beams on.
Was it cold in the studio or was Doris just happy to see Johnny?
Absolutely Beautiful and really talented 🎶🎤🎥🔥🔥🔥👏👍❣️
I always loved her, and still do..
Incredibly stunning lady and wonderful singer! Her swing time era music is outstanding. My favorite lady singer of that time.
Super Healthy Lady and She is so sweet and loving
It must have been chilly in the studio. 😋
she was proud of her new breast implants
I am glad l was not the only mind going there
@katherinebilman7479 oh yeah!!
It looks like she wasn't wearing a bra lol
They are real, not implants.
I love me some Doris Day...great women.
Doris gave zero shits. She corrected and disagreed with Johnny regularly during this interview.
What a fine set. Lovely lady, she is missed.
Well she certainly showed her natural side.
Puppies were up and awake 😊
Doris comes across as as an earth mother.
You come across as a lunar tic 😆
@@20alphabet You'd think with "alphabet" as part of your screen name you'd avoid atrocities such as "lunar tic".
She had a REALLY nice voice and her style fit her era like a glove.
Doris Day was a beautiful elegant lady. ❤
Doris Day always seemed so genuine and lady like. What a great role model she was. I nick named my Mother in law affectionately, Doris Day with a high ball. Both lovely ladies.
The One and Only Doris Day.... God She was Absolutely Stunningly Beautiful and Amazingly Talented So Real She is One of My All Time Favorites... R.I.P. Angel 💖💖
OMG. Doris was delicious from head to toe.
in your dreams.
I miss those days. Prince might have said, "she's a peach."
I was a junior in High School and will never forget that "appearance"! You don't have to be Nostradamus to guess what me and my buddies
were talking about the next day!
She’s 52 on the show, and I would’ve guessed her to be at least no more than 40🥰
Very "good work"...
I was 18 and already out of high school. I remember this broadcast when it first aired and that suit Johnny was wearing. We were just moving into the disco era so the suit fit in at that time. I had an orange/brown suit coat that looked similar in pattern. Wow. Cool man.
I’ve always loved Doris Day in films but this is the first time I’ve seen her as herself
An she’s even more beautiful
RIP
❤
a Lady with remarkable Talent and a mazing Voice whenever she sang and also one Hell of an actress!!!!
The name Suzy Creamcheese is actually used on The Mothers Of Invention's (Frank Zappa) first album at the end of a song called It Can't Happen Here. From around 1967.
Actually now that I think about it the song was Help I'm A Rock.
Wasn't the real Suzy Creamcheese one of the GTOs?
@@chesterproudfoot9864 Don't know.
And no one is even looking at Carol Wayne 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
She's really that stupid!
Carol Wayne was sizing her up.
@@paulabillanes5084
WE WERE ALL SIZING HER UP ;)
I'm surprised Carol came out first. Doris was a much bigger star.
@@stevethomas2285
Carol Wayne was the opening act .🤣😂😆😅🤣🤣🤣🤣
Loved her movies!!!!
Me too Ginger!
Me as well, have watched them many times over, the comedies were hysterical!
She lived to be 95 years old, she's right about doing what you want to do in life. Perhaps some cautions should be adhered to when serious or severe but in the event of minor things, she had a good point.
97
Very stimulating. Thank you.
From this interview, you'd assume that it was chilly in the studio, but if you ever watched the entire episode, Rodney Dangerfield comes out later and he's pouring out sweat, so I don't know what to think.
Rodney famously did a lot of coke before going on stage so he'd sweat no matter how cold it was.
Then the audience wakes up after her boring turn on stage. Correcting everything Johnny says, and trying to make him sound like he’s staring at her tits, when the guy is looking past her at his producer. You’re not the center of the world, Doris.
If you got it flaunt it. She as a very beautiful woman and she knew it and had nothing to hide. Loved her in Pillow Talk.
They originally wanted her to play Mrs. Robinson in the graduate. Gawd, why didn't they ??????
Because she was “apple pie and milk” and would not have gone for that story line. 💖
Anne Bancroft all the way for that particular role and story.
They didn't have a say, Doris turned down the part, as she thought it was too "vulgar and offensive", according to her memoirs.
Doris was still a looker!
Stunning
The other guest on the couch was Carol Wayne who regularly appeared on the Teatime with Bert Fern segments. Wayne tragically died in Mexico 11 years after this appearance. In January 1985, Wayne vacationed at the Las Hadas Resort in Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico with companion Edward Durston, a car salesman. After an argument, Wayne reportedly took a walk on the beach. Three days later, a local fisherman found Wayne's body in the shallow bay. An autopsy performed in Mexico revealed no signs of alcohol or other drugs in her body. Her death was ruled "accidental."
Thanks for the information
👍
Kevin, she never once appeared with Bert fern in the teatime movie segments! NOT ONCE!!!!
However she had many appearances with ART fern!!!
I love animals too. They don't hate or shoot or stab or abuse each other. They only kill for food. People kill each other, and it's horrible.
I prefer my 2 cats to most people. ❤❤❤❤
👍
Looks like it was cold in the studio. Gotta love Doris. RIP!
Shes super hip for that time…seeing her lack of bra here makes me feel better about my lack of a bra in the 90s!
Must have been chilly in the studio that night.😜
She tried to cover them up a few times, but fortunately they kept coming back out.
@danricci7855 Yeah, she definitely could of used a couple of buttons (pardon the pun) on that outer garment she was wearing. Makes one wonder, she picked the clothes she wore, so if she wanted her breasts covered (as she did several times, covering them with said garment) why didn't she wear something with some buttons? I guess she was proud of her boobs... Probably all a bit of a tease on her part, directed towards Johnny... Now you see them, now you don't. Haha. Johnny certainly had his eyes full that night, between Doris and Carol Wayne!!
@@davidjones9661 She just had "fresh implants" and a face-lift... She was debuting them proudly ..
Child star, u keep repeating the plastic surgery claim as of it's a definitive known fact. If you have a source link it, if you have inside info tell the story. If you're just speculating/assuming, make that clear.
Does not look like a book job to me.
Face-lift seems likely but watching on a phone screen and not being able to zoom in, can't see well enough
@@tomdickandharry7024 Oh please, "get over yourself"... Any idiot with eyes can see he had work done and you can stop with the "quasi-intimidating" ( If I have a source link it ).. I worked for a plastic surgeon !!!
Wow! Doris, what a lovely woman, stunning.
That was insulting asking him where he was looking
He was looking past her the whole time ,she was obviiusly rattled by it
Chilly in the studio…
Class.
Lovely talented lady.
Any young gentleman want to know what a real, beautiful and confident woman looks like? Here she is.
No tattoos.
I'm thinking she was trying to give Carol Wayne a run for her money 😂
At 9.20 Doris stumbles when asked about her husband. They were fun times? I adore Doris.
Life is so short , the thing is you don’t cop on until it’s to late and life has passed you by
The studio looked chilly.
part 2 please!
Doris Day was the first middle aged woman I ever had a crush on. And you know what I mean by "crush"......oh yeah, baby!
RIP
Doris Day
(1922-2019)
She had great chemistry with rock hudson back in the day..good times
She lived her final years in Carmel- by- the-Sea. He owned a small hotel there where we could send mail. I would send birthday cards. She lived to be 95. Her charity is still going...for animals.
Doris looks Absolutely Stunning And Beautiful here!!😍😍💘💘💘 I would not be able to keep my hands off of her if I was her husband or boyfriend,😘😘 Whoever was going out with her At that time was Extremely Lucky, She is a Very Classy Lady To Top it Off!! What a Beautiful Body and Smile!!😊 And I also like d Johnny's other Beautiful Lady Guest💘💘 Does anyone know her name I forgot?
Doris is a gorgeous- looking wonderful lady. 💐🌷🥧👠💞💟❣
It must have been cold in the studio that day. Doris seems to confirm that. Also the other guest star was Rodney Dangerfield.
Back when ladies were classy And extremely pretty I just wish I was of age during that time period.
She looked absolutely beautiful and still looked beautiful when she aged into her 90's.
Doris: "Oh, nippin' out is the thing these days? Hold my beer. . ."
I'm surprised that nobody here in the comments picked up on Johnny's "summit' joke 0:50 ... Then, right on cue, Doris pushes those mighty summits way up high, as if to say "I caught that Johnny"... Thems SOME mountain tops. Two big ranges... side by side. (CW's two too!! 2:31) Haha!!
As a side, many people always think bits like this ("summit" line, and Doris's "stretch") are done unscripted, but I think they were more scripted, staged... not all of them, but enough of them.
The best.
Must have been a little nippy in the studio 🥶
Youcan say that again , again..my my.
Carry Simon all over again.
Carol Wayne !!! Shelly Winters said she knew Marilyn, and Carol had a great similar comedy style.
Doris looking 🔥 in Blue
Goddamn! Those appear to be natural and they are beautiful.
I live in Cincinnati and go past her house she grew up in all the time I actually stayed around the corner from it
My money is on Irish coffee in her mug. ☕
yes please
took a lot of discipline for johnny to not sneak a peek !
I watched Doris Day for the first time and she appears Madonna-like with class.
A beautiful woman, attire and conversation with Johnny.
Confidence, who needs a bra?
