Whatever flaws the relationship between China -Malaysia...We have to appreciate the impact of China trade on Malaysia, especially we manage to avoid financial crisis 2008 that occur in the US and Europe...China import of goods from Malaysia manage to buffer the slowdown of import from Western countries during that time; otherwise we would be in similar fate like them...Those who went thru a bad time 1997 financial crisis like me, can see how much depended and trust in Western countries can bring misery to us...

Kek. Forget the discount on the ECRL. France tries to undermine us because of palm oil. But for the ECRL, China has promised to add in palm oil purchase. But thats not all. Its now also a 50/50 joint venture, meaning 50% of the money gets recirculated back into Malaysia.
So to tally everything. The project had a "discount" of 50%, and on top of this 50% of the money goes back into Malaysia. Its actually a ~75% discount.
