Tales of the Arabian Nights is from 1985 originally. It's really amazing that it's design has managed to stand the test of time. A sequel 40 years later!
I sold my copy of tales of Arabian nights a year or two ago Because it hadn't hit the table in probably 5 plus years and after playing freelancers, I have zero regrets. You're definitely right about this style of game just feeling dated at this point.
I saw this at Gen Con and thought it looked really elegant - but maybe it doesn’t translate well on video? I think the game that looks bad is Heroes of Might and Magic. But that pulled in nearly $5 million on crowdfunding, so there’s obviously something about that game outside of its artwork that people really love.

People still play Talisman. This one should be targeted at a wider audience ... send it to Target, B&N.
The map reminds me of Knights of Camelot from the 1980s.
