@@MikeJones-wc4qj City officials do what they do due to the passion they have for the people and the cause. I agree that they don't get paid well, but that is no reason to behave that way. All eyes are on them and one wrong move, and it's all over the media. They need to learn how to understand what they are feeling and act positively on it. I don't know if this person did it intentionally or not, but regardless, all eyes are on them and they need to realize what can happen if it is caught on camera.

I was there when this happened. She tried to hide it by waving and rotating her other fingers and kept doing it as she was above the law. I was shocked at that a city council would do this and kept smiling the whole way. I thought she was acting like a child back there.

Sadly, most business and highly visible people are careful of how they act in public, yet public officials don't seem to know that etiquette in some cases. Sorry, mija. I am a Latina too, but I make sure in public I am seen as a respectable person, regardless of how tired and frustrated I am, we have enough things going against us, you did not help the situation for all of us. Be the example you want the world to be, at least that is how I as a Latina out in the business world behave. And in my personal life, I live in such a way that if anyone spoke badly about me, no one would believe it. Girl, as a woman in business or as a public official, we fight an uphill battle, why destroy that over a gesture, regardless if it was intentional or not. Be careful next time if truly you did not mean for that to happen and make sure you rectify to that little girl your actions, because what you do in life, stays with the children and if you want that little girl to be someone good, you be the example.

I'm on Padilla side. People will stick up for the 8 year old girl because she listens to Daddy. Dad seemed to think he could get away with it because he knew his daughter was recording. Tried to pull a slick one. Why would a council member want to forfeit her job like that? Think about it. These people need to chill. Learn to have respect. Wrongful minded punk needs to stand down from the microphone and focus on raising his kids better.

Forfeit her job? You do realize that council members can't be fired and that voters aren't going to vote her out over it either. Her colleague Kevin DeLeon who came pretty close to becoming a US senator is still sitting on the council for the same scandal that caused her predecessor to resign.
