Great tutorial! However the final result i get is nothing like the preview you show. Yours looks so much better! Would be great if you could do another tutorial on this that actually ends up looking like the one you created. Thanks
It's all about tweaking. The final preview was made exactly the same way shown in the tutorial, only I spent days on the final demo and 20 minutes in the tutorial. Which one is going to look better? The techniques are exactly the same.
Would love to see this updated for today's versions of all the plugins. Did this years ago and doing it again now with the new build is a bit different. And there's more that can be done, too!
this sparks an idea for my next project, can you make a tut to like zoom in through the galaxy and past stars and stuff and end up in front of a planet?
Fantastic tutorial! I'd be lost in Form if I hadn't seen your Dubstep Guns tutorial a few weeks back (Late to the punch, I know :P ) - but since then, I've been using it in all sorts of projects. I really appreciate the time you put into these videos!
Thank you very much VinhSon for another amazing tutorial! I had tried your other tutorial which already produced amazing nebulas and galaxies ( using Form with NASA images with layer maps - Color & Alpha and Displacement) and now I am very eager to try this new method! Tonight!!! :) Vraiment, Merci beaucoup !!!!
for the ones asking " spiral object is not in the descritpion ) just click on the first link and download the " Galaxy Nebula Tutorial Assets (Includes Everything)" it's in it , thanks me later
When I import the .obj file, it doesn't position in the area you have in the tutorial. It also doesn't display unless I uncheck Normalize. It's positioned in the upper left and about 75% off screen. Form 2.2 and AE CC 2017. Can't seem to get it to the center of the comp.
I'm getting a glitch now having finished that after the first frame the galaxy is all over the place. I have double checked and there is no keyframe out of place. Why is this happening? It's like it expands in a huge way after frame one.
Hello, can Element 3D combine trapcode form as (search The Satellite Year - "A Campus: A Heart: A Star" in youtube) and made the floating rocks glow in 1: 57 its made with element 3d . maybe use trapcode form? Dont know how to do it. Maybe you can make a tutorial please, and thanks all of your tutorials.
Hey Vince, thank's for this awesome tut ! One question, with u'r script called "Dojo Toolkit v1.0" when I apply a letterboxing, nothing appear on my camp? Can you help me? Hope you will understand my english ! Best regards from France
I've only got a question! At 15:12 when you say set the affect Opacity from the fractal field to zero, on your tutorial you still the misty energy. But when i change it to zero it changes to black there is nothing there. I cant figure out how to fix this??
Angel Luvcheto Same here, but ether 0. or 0.2 or anything else is working, its not changing anything, it stays like splat and nothing changes, i had to lower the opacity of particles itself to get some similar result, but its not the same...
+deffectrix Very late and just speculating but it might be that your monitor is darker? Try increasing it's brightness and see it changes... Would any of this be affected by the whole 0-255 vs 16-235 thing? Hmnnn
I might be a bit late, but i had the problem too. When i duplicate the form solids it wont safe the obj and layer map information like in the video - so nothing shows up like you said. You have to link the obj file and the color map again to the form effect.
i tried to do this in FullHD but the size of .obj is too small so the quantity ofparticles of the galaxy-pipe is less than your... i need a bigger .obj? i tried to increase the scale but i lose quality
when i try to import the OBJ after effects doesnt recognize it in the folder i have it in or from my desktop. using most current version of after effects for windows
Either you guys are running a cracked/broken version of Form 2, or there is a serious problem with the installer because Form 2 installs those plugins AUTOMATICALLY. Contact Red Giant support for help on this.
never mind it worked, i just remembered that an error message came up whilst installing the plugin because it was broken. redownloaded and install now it works thank for the replay and refrshing my memory! and thank you for bringing us such great tutorials!
I recently got Trapcode Suite, anyone want to team up and make a cool space galaxy/nebula video? If we each did like 6 shots or something we could put them together and make a good video, maybe even more shots with 3 or 4 people contributing.
Heh this doesn't look too much like a real nebula... Great tutorial though! By the way, it looked a hundred times better before you used the starglow effect.
This is a great tutorial but you must Slow Down your speech and actions. Trying to follow along with this video is a frantic exercise in alt+tab+pause+rewind.
NBurkha Thanks for the feedback. The ideal way that usually works for most people is to just watch it through the first time so you can an idea. Experimenting while watching ANY AE tutorial seems to be hectic, even for me.
My site is 100% up and running with awesome new changes to come!
Greatly appreciate your kind words and support dude!
Wow. I will never believe any "space images" again. Mind = blown. Downloading this stuff for sure. The flare really made your nebula come to life!
Thank you Cameron for your support!
I like how you teach multiple ways to create something, it helps promote versatility within those learning from you, keep up the good work Vinhson.
You actually create entertaining content instead of boring objects to learn from.
Thanks for the awesome feedback, it helps me create better content for everyone :)
Good idea, it's something I'll consider for future tutorials. Thanks!

Thanks for this tutorial. I'm new to Ae so this pushed my limits. but it was a lot of fun. Keep 'em coming.
Glad you fond it useful Todd :) Thanks for the support!
Would love to see this updated for today's versions of all the plugins. Did this years ago and doing it again now with the new build is a bit different. And there's more that can be done, too!
The new Trapcode systems are kinda confusing, but yeah I can look into it! It would definitely be more efficient!
@@CreativeDojo they are way more confusing! Tao is crazy, for example, but way better for star fields IMHO
this sparks an idea for my next project, can you make a tut to like zoom in through the galaxy and past stars and stuff and end up in front of a planet?
Will definitely add it to my list!
Where do you get music like that? It's awesome! :d
Great tutorial by the way, love it.
Keep it up!
Dude you are super talented.
Thanks Vin for the heads up! I'll check it out!
I still love this tutorial! Thank you!
Fantastic tutorial! I'd be lost in Form if I hadn't seen your Dubstep Guns tutorial a few weeks back (Late to the punch, I know :P ) - but since then, I've been using it in all sorts of projects. I really appreciate the time you put into these videos!
Chris Folea Glad I was able to help you with something Chris, thanks for the feedback!

Hi VinhSon, is your website back on line? Great tuts, keep up the great work!
I'm getting a glitch now having finished that after the first frame the galaxy is all over the place. I have double checked and there is no keyframe out of place. Why is this happening? It's like it expands in a huge way after frame one.
Great thanks, men can i use it for some of my school purposes
I wish you had covered the camera settings. Good lesson, tho. Thanks.
Thanks for this tutorial :)
Hi, Love the work you make, do you also sell the footage, we making a film about Space and looking for footage.

Great tutorials! How do you copy expressions on a Mac? Yes I'm a nube...
How do you import a .obj file in after fx? Doesn’t seem to work here. Afx 2017, form 2.1.
You're awesome sire :)
Everything should work fine, you only need C4D to create the file, but I already provided it for you :)
Very cool effect! Doesn't look much like a nebula though!
Nice work... and I would like to thank you by liking your FB page.. :)
Hey Vince, thank's for this awesome tut ! One question, with u'r script called "Dojo Toolkit v1.0" when I apply a letterboxing, nothing appear on my camp? Can you help me? Hope you will understand my english !

How about animating the Galaxy rotating. If I try to rotate the master null on the Y rotation, but it causes everything to pivot funny. Suggestions?
Try orbiting the camera around the galaxy instead of rotating the galaxy itself, might look better.
can u tell me how did you get that spiral thing
The site should be back up!
wonderful
can you make a tutorial about trapcode form combine element 3d? please!!
Wonderfull!!!
It should just be keyframing the camera, correct?
I've only got a question! At 15:12 when you say set the affect Opacity from the fractal field to zero, on your tutorial you still the misty energy. But when i change it to zero it changes to black there is nothing there. I cant figure out how to fix this??
The same with me ,but instead of zero i put a value of 0.2 and it worked out :)

Tom Drake Not at all, i think one of the plugins must have updated and the blur was taken away.
The link to the More Info: bit is down for me :(
YEAH BUDDY
why does starglow suddenly make no difference? i change all the settings to what you said...
If i copypaste a particle layer, like in the tutorial, the particles/effects do not show up at all. PLease help.
I might be a bit late, but i had the problem too. When i duplicate the form solids it wont safe the obj and layer map information like in the video - so nothing shows up like you said. You have to link the obj file and the color map again to the form effect.
Hey Kevann, are you using the French version of AE? If so, send me an email or tweet me so I can send you a universal version of Dojo Toolkit.
OBJ file is demaged and i can't use it :( can someone share its obj file please?
i tried to do this in FullHD but the size of .obj is too small so the quantity ofparticles of the galaxy-pipe is less than your... i need a bigger .obj? i tried to increase the scale but i lose quality
Should be back up!
when i try to import the OBJ after effects doesnt recognize it in the folder i have it in or from my desktop. using most current version of after effects for windows
You must have not installed a plugin that enables AE to recognize OBJ files. Try re-installing Form.
VinhSon Nguyen i also have the same problem and ive reinstalled them but it still doesn't work pls help.

It's fun to create new worlds, no? :D
Intro looks like a still photo?
