  • Ordered the Cen-Tec shop vac hose and I am so glad I did. This 20 foot hose has a locking quick release with enough adapters to hook to all my tools. Seriously, if you use a shop vac for dust collection, get this hose.

    I can also vouch for that hose. Used it this week on my trim router. Worked great.

      @@AlaskaWorkshop I just bought the cen tec hose. Didn't know they had attachement/adapters also, I would have bought those. But the hose fits good in my Makita trim router dust shroud.

      How did I not know of this hose. I even had an adapter for my Kreg pocket hole jig!

      I was told by a friend about the bosch hose. Looking for that is how I found centec. I've got it hooked up to a retractable above my assembly table. The quick connects are awesome.

    Hi, your video is very helpful, thanks for sharing. I was wondering if you could use that diameter of hose for a thickness planner… my planner don’t have any dust collection system fitted, I am planning of making one, but then was wondering if this diameter of hose would be ok or will it get clogged with wood chips rather than dust. Your advice would be very helpful as I am only a DIY. Thanks and warm regards

      No, this is much too small for a planer. I have a 2 inch hose going into a 32 gallon trash can. Of course you need some way to let air through as well. I did film how I did it but didn't think it would interest anyone. I have bought the parts for a 4 inch hose into a 50 gallon container but have not gotten around to it yet.

    So, does the smaller hose as good as the 2 1/2 in hose for the table saw? Dust collection wise

      @@AlaskaWorkshop How did this end up working on your table saw?

    Did you use this for your Delta Table saw or what did you come up with as far as dust collection for it?

    • @AlaskaWorkshop
      @AlaskaWorkshop  3 года назад +1

      I am using it for the Delta still. Does not do any worse than when I had the 2 1/2" hose connected and it sure is convenient to move the new hose wherever I need it.

    Is this an anti-static hose? Or does it gives the usual shock now and then? I just saw a (more expensive) blue one in Amazon today labeled as “anti-static”, but I was wondering if it was worth the extra money. I’m definitely not really fond of the electric shocks. Thanks for the review btw!

    • @AlaskaWorkshop
      @AlaskaWorkshop  3 года назад +2

      I never had an issue with static with any hose until yesterday. I used my new planer for the first time and opened the sawdust bucket and sawdust started popping out like popcorn. Weirdest thing.

    • @Size15s
      @Size15s 10 месяцев назад

      I have the anti-static version and it is borderline magic.
      Where the same adapter is used by several tools I've written them on the blue vent ring for quick identification. Obviously you can buy enough adaptors to have them dedicated to each tool, but for infrequently used tools I find it no drama to swap adapters
