You Can Use Almost Any Remote Control Within The Same Brand...

This is just a video discussing how you do not need the exact remote that came with your equipment to use it properly. Meaning a blu ray player of a particular brand can use any DVD/Blu-ray remote of the same brand even if they were made decades apart.

Not exactly true, dedicated remotes may have special buttons only on that remote. Logitech universal has a massive online library to originals functions.
