Interesting that they added the envelope modulation. Otherwise, I’m still quite happy with the used PitchFactor I got for much less than a new MicroPitch that does that algorithm and much more. A nice thing about the single algorithm releases is that the new videos give a person ideas of how to get more out of stuff they already had. Great demo! I like to PLAY my effects, when applicable. This thing does that amply, though I’m still getting used to it. I like to run stereo amps for spread, imaging, which this unit excels at. It’s like an instant acid trip, the lush modulated echos are near limitless in potential. With a warm, chimey clean sound, it becomes a profoundly immersive sound tool. Yet with a distorted, detailed sound, one can thicken, flange, chorus, Leslie, add depth, detail, color. I look forward to adding the tools to fully utilize this device. Because of its flexibility, it could add tremendous functionality to a home studio setting. Perhaps some of the other similar Eventide models would be worth a good demo. Cheers!
Holy Crikes! What a monster sounding delay pedal. I like adjusting the pitches till they start sounding wonky, then dime them. 😂 Wow this pedal is totally dope.
Leon, how would you compare this (and I guess the other) eventide pitch sounds with the pitch block in the AxIII, if that's something you can talk about. It's cool! I'm kind of torn on the approach though.....I think it's very cool that they are giving the option of having specific Eventide effects to people, in pedal form, for those guys who love pedalboards, and the computer editor is cool for the visuals. But, I think I would rather have an Eclipse, or a bigger Eventide, and get everything I need for "ambient effects" (i.e., delay, reverb, pitch, modulation), from a single device.
The Eclipse is, IMO, the greatest single rack unit effects processor ever made. I see the standalone pedals as a great option for people who want one of the classic Eventide flavours to get their fix without shelling out for an Eclipse/H9000 etc
@@LeonTodd Agree. I thought it sounded Stellar in your mega-Detune comparison video. I liked the SPX90, both Lexicon units & the Eclipse ( far & away over the H9 )
It works the same way the old H3000 Microshift algorithm works - each voice is fed to a detuner and then the amount of delay can be adjusted, as opposed to being stereo detuner -> stereo delay.
"Why not both?" :p In all seriousness, if you want that glorious 80's detune + chorus combo Tricera will do it in spades. If you want detune PLUS a great dual delay go for this.
The plugin is cool, but the pedal? YES! Sounds great and it's Eventide! Doesn't get any better. Cant find it anywhere yet from my searches. Is it out yet? 👍
Is it possible to have a high mix of micro pitch with proper delays that aren’t super loud? It seems you can have one but not both? Am I missing something? Trying to get a Van Hagar Balance kinda sound out of it.
Other than physical knobs and a sweet red enclosure, did you notice anything about the sounds/capabilities that would be different from the MicroPitch algorithm on the H9?
The MicroPitch Delay pedal is the same algorithm as in the H9, but the standalone pedal includes positive and negative envelope modes for more expressive control of the pitch modulation.
Great demo video as usual and awesome tunes coming out of this little box.. I'm wonder this pedal's function is being overlapped with my H9's pitch algorithms and/or Eclipse's relevant presets therein?
I'm wondering if I can use this pedal to emulate Mick Karn's fretless bass tone with Japan and Gary Numan in the 80s. Mick used to record two identical tracks and then hard pan them. It caused both stereo widening and a subtle chorus effect because no two performances on fretless are exactly the same pitch or time no matter how good you are. It would be awesome to be able to do this live.
@@Simeon_Harris pretty much! Though one thing really stood out to my ear here, which was just how SMOOTH that feedback sounded for those "reverby" ambient sounds. I usually don't hear it get that smooth for short delay time, high-feedback scenarios unless there's heavy filtering involved (which is definitely happening through the Tone control) and either diffusion or bit reduction going on in the feedback path....given your experience with these units, do you think they're emulating the bit reduction the old "dinosaur" pitch shifters had here? Do you think there's something special going on here, a little bit out of the ordinary, that allows it to sound so smooth there?
@@rblossey it's a delay with detune, rather than a pitch shifter with predelay, so very different algorithms. it's just filtering as far as i can tell. the eclise could do this easy. in fact the detune part of this pedal isn't very stereo (listen on headphones, it's almost down the middle) which is weird.
Micropitch is a little smoother and more "predictable" and sounds more like one massive guitar tone while the Mimic does a great job at getting the doubling vibe across.
Yes, this is available as the MicroPitch algorithm in the H9. However, worth noting that this new MicroPitch Delay standalone pedal also includes 2 new pitch modulations modes.
I had to watch this again.. I'm going to buy one. I want it for the distortion Steve Vai crossroads tone! I love the other stuff though.. I don't remember how many presets you're allowed to have. I think it's 4, but I"ll use at least one for something wild.. I love the presets they have, and I usually don't find presets on a pedal very good without tweaking and this one has some great one's out of the box I see.. I'm playing right now thru the 50 watt Katana and a boss Me 70 and I can use this in the loop.. Does the FM3 do this just as good in tone may I ask sir? I would bet it' can't possibly do this can it? Thanks brother.. Very cool.. Tim

That's a good pedal. Eventide has done a lot to keep up with the quality of their signal processing, even through the transition from rack to pedal platforms. There is one thing in particular I was listening for in this demo, but I don't believe I heard it. There isn't much in the way of Reverb in this pedal is there? For a pedal board build, I would definitely consider a pedal like this one. As always Leon, Great video and stellar playing! Thank you!
Can we use the preset memory on stage without the need of a computer, via a midi pedal for exemple ? If it's the case thé guitar heroe on my band would be happy, he does'nt like is line 6 delay and play on a vintage valve Marshall.
Great video and as always, Awesome tone and very Tasty playing!! I have this pedal and I’m running it with a reverb into the loop of my Runt 20. Unfortunately, I’m not using it to it’s potential, staying with one preset and actually find it a little confusing. This video is inspiring me to hook it up to my laptop and start tweaking. On the flip side, with the one preset , I’ve been told my clean tone was incredible. Can you save those presets to 1-5 easily? Thx 😎
you can buy a pedal from eventide including micropitch and much more since more than 5 years! the h9. for me this single effect units are kind of a step back. the ios software is so great that i can live without the dedicated controls, but have all the great eventide effects in just one pedal.
@@LeonTodd surprises me. i am a hardware and otb guy, but i love the h9 software. i own the h9 since it was released and while my other pedals are collecting dust, i still use it all the time. i would never have understood what the effects are doing without the software.
@@LeonTodd you could still buy one h9 max and the cheaper h9 and use all effects you own on both. they started offering pedals with single effect pedals way back and then came with the still revolutionary concept of the h9. now they are back with single effects pedals instead of improving the h9 concept. this is what i don‘t get.

Love the Strat, Leon... I just got a CS 55 that is Nocaster Blonde with the black guard and parts! Maple 51 U neck tho. 😀
YUM!
Kick ass! Great video! Cheers!
Thankyou!
So there’s no way to adjust the delay mix?
It works the same way the old H3000 Microshift algorithm works - each voice is fed to a detuner and then the amount of delay can be adjusted, as opposed to being stereo detuner -> stereo delay.
Not sure if I want this or the Tricerachorus! You did a fantastic demo of that as well..
"Why not both?" :p
In all seriousness, if you want that glorious 80's detune + chorus combo Tricera will do it in spades. If you want detune PLUS a great dual delay go for this.
One Pedal to rule them all….
The plugin is cool, but the pedal? YES! Sounds great and it's Eventide! Doesn't get any better. Cant find it anywhere yet from my searches. Is it out yet? 👍
Should be out now!
Awesome Video Thank You
Glad you enjoyed it
Is it possible to have a high mix of micro pitch with proper delays that aren’t super loud? It seems you can have one but not both? Am I missing something? Trying to get a Van Hagar Balance kinda sound out of it.
Other than physical knobs and a sweet red enclosure, did you notice anything about the sounds/capabilities that would be different from the MicroPitch algorithm on the H9?
The MicroPitch Delay pedal is the same algorithm as in the H9, but the standalone pedal includes positive and negative envelope modes for more expressive control of the pitch modulation.
@@EventideAudio good to know; thank you!
Great demo video as usual and awesome tunes coming out of this little box.. I'm wonder this pedal's function is being overlapped with my H9's pitch algorithms and/or Eclipse's relevant presets therein?
If you've got an Eclipse you've got the ultimate Eventide unit! (H series owners, fight me)
I'm wondering if I can use this pedal to emulate Mick Karn's fretless bass tone with Japan and Gary Numan in the 80s. Mick used to record two identical tracks and then hard pan them. It caused both stereo widening and a subtle chorus effect because no two performances on fretless are exactly the same pitch or time no matter how good you are. It would be awesome to be able to do this live.
Man!!...you sold me the Eclipse and now i want this one!!!
if you get an eclipse, you won't need this one!
Simeon speaks truth! The Eclipse is an incredible machine.
The sound at 9:12 is screaming to be on the next Ragdoll record.
DEAL!
What about the Micropitch in front of the tc electronic Mimiq into 2 amps???😎
G I R T H
Great vid Leon, question please, how does the Micropitch compare to the Mimic in widening the sound ?, keep up the good work
Micropitch is a little smoother and more "predictable" and sounds more like one massive guitar tone while the Mimic does a great job at getting the doubling vibe across.
Well i think this is available in the H9.
Yes, this is available as the MicroPitch algorithm in the H9. However, worth noting that this new MicroPitch Delay standalone pedal also includes 2 new pitch modulations modes.
@@EventideAudio cool i have the H9 maxed out and pretty happy with it ;)
I had to watch this again..
Very cool..
Tim
Why are there two Preset lights on? I thought it was one light for each of the 5 presets? Can’t find any explanation in their manual.
What gets closer to an 8 voice chorus? This pedal or the tricerachorus ?
Ok SO I INSTANTLY went and ordered this straight after watching this video lol 😆 just wondering which presets are yours as that library looks REALLY extensive on the editor. As soon as you played the No More Tears riff I KNEW I had to have this! If you could let me know I'd appreciate it mate!
I think I submitted 3 presets for this. Rewind your mind is one but I forget the other names
Great content, as usual, I wondering if you could make a video on how to make the FM3 sounds good direct to FOH ?
I've got a rundown and tutorial on my live FM3 preset up on here
Todd, where would you recommend for the Micropitch to go on a pedalboard with a TriceraChorus ?
Tricera - > MPD
I realy do like the presets you have. Where can l get all of those kind of presets?
Thanks.
Dayum
Sound great!!!
How do you get those great prset into your software?
That's a good pedal. Eventide has done a lot to keep up with the quality of their signal processing, even through the transition from rack to pedal platforms.
There is one thing in particular I was listening for in this demo, but I don't believe I heard it. There isn't much in the way of Reverb in this pedal is there?
For a pedal board build, I would definitely consider a pedal like this one.
As always Leon, Great video and stellar playing! Thank you!
Thanks my man! Yeah this with a Strymon DiG for the SDE style delays and a BOSS DC-2w would cop a lot of those classic 80s cleans.
Ive been trying to get a Rhoads/Sykes tone with this!
Can we use the preset memory on stage without the need of a computer, via a midi pedal for exemple ? If it's the case thé guitar heroe on my band would be happy, he does'nt like is line 6 delay and play on a vintage valve Marshall.
Am I able to put this pedal between the guitar and audio interface (recording in the DAW) without a DI box?
I love the H9 but the software was a poor off for a lot of people. It's a great option to have for anyone who wants dedicated knobs
@@LeonTodd surprises me. i am a hardware and otb guy, but i love the h9 software. i own the h9 since it was released and while my other pedals are collecting dust, i still use it all the time. i would never have understood what the effects are doing without the software.
@@dirkpehrke9909 same here! I really hope they bring out a H99 or something along those lines that can do 2 or more H9 algos at a time
@@LeonTodd you could still buy one h9 max and the cheaper h9 and use all effects you own on both.
they started offering pedals with single effect pedals way back and then came with the still revolutionary concept of the h9. now they are back with single effects pedals instead of improving the h9 concept. this is what i don‘t get.
@@dirkpehrke9909 different strokes for different blokes I guess. I'm sure a lot of people with rack rigs looked at the H9 and went "so what, racks have been doing that since the late 80's". I have a few friends who just didn't want to know about the H9 but then saw this and immediately bought one.
If this question has been asked I apologize...
I have an old JCM800 2203 without an fx loop
I love the tones that come from this amp!
Is there a way to use it without a loop?
Thank you in advance!
Would running this into the front of a Plexi without an FX loop work or is this really built for FX loops?
I’ve ran it through the FX loop and in front of the amp and both sound gorgeous, this pedal is incredible no matter what you do with it. This and a Plexi would be a killer tone.
Have you had a chance to compare your H9's version? I'm curious...
Hi there Leon. Another great review. Do you think those 90’s vh or sykes pitch thing is also possible with your pcm81 or yamaha spx?
Yes indeed. I'll be doing a PCM81 vid on detune soon!
@@LeonTodd great man!!
Can it do the landau/Huff Bob Bradshaw rack session kind of detune?
