I've been having difficulty with the social stealth. Always getting caught even when I'm just walking normally. Definitely gonna be using some of these. Except guaranteed assassinations. I like the QTE it adds and gives me a little bit of satisfaction when I pull it off

@@masterassassin791 Have you already tried to at least not play with guaranteed assassination. Not only is it not what the game developers wanted for the game but it is not realistic at all. So, without the guaranteed assassination, you still one shot a lot of enemies, those with bigger armor can still be one shot it you have a certain skill that let you do a precision minigame that if you miss, your character will not aim for the vital point and the hidden Blade just makes that strong enemy bleed but since his armor was too thick, Eivor missed his shot.

Yea I saw the setting to make assassinations guaranteed and I immediately turned it on before I been started the game. Why shouldn’t I one shot assassinate people in an AC game?
I’d also recommend using Thorn of Slumber level 2. Hit the ground beside enemies to guarantee that they fall asleep. Another good ability is Raven Distraction. Sending Synin after guards effectively disables their AI and lets you rush them down for an assassination or just run right past them. A very powerful combo is ranged poison strike + miasma. You can use this to stealth clear the insides of buildings in raids that you can only force your way into by shooting through barred windows. Incendiary Powder Trap is also very strong, and allows you to basically instakill groups of weaker guards. Another two skills that I would consider essential are Emergency Aim and Bow Stun Finisher. Bow Stun Finisher is useful for finishing off enemies when their stun bar has been drained by a trapped corpse. Another tactic that can be very useful is that as long as the location you’re at can’t be raided, you can always blow your horn to draw all nearby enemies to your location. Blow the horn, run away, get to your objective, leave.
Overall, I’m not a big fan of the stealth in this game anymore. The game has gone out of its way to specifically discourage aggressive stealth, which is a shame because any serious stealth game supports that playstyle. However, if you are gonna be playing this game, these tips will help you out.

@@masterassassin791 I’m hoping that they change the detection rates, those have been my biggest source of frustration up to this point. Another thing that will be a game changer is what kinds of new skills and abilities come with the DLCs, because we know that it’ll happen. Until that point, I’m kinda done with Valhalla, lol.
Using the horn as a distraction is something I’ve never thought of. I used it for shits and giggles if I wasn’t anonymous and needed the guys to come to me so I could sync another viewpoint.
Ranged poison strike and miasma was a game changer when I first plotted it out through the skill tree lol so fun during raids
Some of the stealth, especially in this series, is either really good, or insanely bad. I wouldn't say that the stealth is inherently terrible, it has its flaws and the instant detection is absolutely absurd. It may not particularly be a great stealth game, but I find it to be extremely rewarding when you can pull extremely badass stealth techniques off. It's kind of like a risk/reward thing.... even though the reward is that satisfaction of being stealthy.
I still don't really think that it's a good system. Then again, I've played a lot worse games with terrible stealth.
Instant Detection by archers is so infuriating, thanks for this. It still sucks when someone spots me from so far away my odin vision didn't catch them and I get immediately shoved into combat.
it also sucks if you use a predator bow and fire at a guard but it didn't kill them although it says that it will kill them instantly is frustrating.
Torches are excellent lures in general. Guards are stupid and will burn themselves on them, so sometimes you don't even have to follow up with any sort of attack
same like far cry stones bur dont be near them
After several play sessions denying me that Valhalla's stealth system is nil or almost non-existent, I discovered certain things that, used in the right situation, can help to go unnoticed and without losing the style. Did you know you could get easy silent kills by using the hook? its quite cool tho. Also the sleep darts come in handy when trying to get rid of two or more guards.
I really enjoy this game and really always try to do my best to clear out camps in a stealthy way, the only problem is the guards spot me a really easy and from pretty far don’t know if I’m just bad or if it’s stats related
I wanna see u finish the middle earth series. Shadow of war is so good. Seeing you do the Arkham games would also be great

If the double blade didn't exist before Altair, they could have at least gave eivor a knife or dagger on the other hand for that double assassination, and then throwing the axe as an option after. I'm PRAYING they will do that as an update!
They have a better chance of doing it for a DLC. That would be nice though because there are a lot of times when a double assassination seems necessary but there's really no way to pull it off most of the time
They should get rid of the axe but add the double assassination. The Axe takes away a lot from the pure stealth gameplay but the knife could make it even more interesting

I might be in the minority but I actually like using Advanced Assassinations. I tried playing with guaranteed assassinations on and I found it way too easy.
That heavy assassination is kinda cool too, like you can assassinate those "mighty crusaders" that carry banners, or such.
Master assassin, good point sir, we have to be patient, slow, tatical, otherwise we will not have fun playing steatlh mode.. Once we r master in stealth, we will not choose any games like gow, uncharted, etc .. that's why I own steatlh games like far cry series,got, sniper elite, sekiro, assassin creed series,splinter cell,mgs5, gr wildlands, breakpoint, lou2 , dishonoured series.. I don't know I can not play adventure games.. may be I love steatlh games .... I hope more steatlh games should be developed in upcoming years....

Very helpful, thanks. Recent AC games seem to be more about combat and less about stealth. This video explained the AC Valhalla has more stealth than I thought.
Getting back into this game in 2024 for a stealth play through and while the enemies AI isn’t perfect it’s doable it just requires more patience than previous games. Getting to Ireland asap to get the smoke arrows to compliment the build makes it so much fun.
Just released on steam, i can you can definitely still play stealth you just gotta know how to do it well.

I'm really not the best at assassination, the game tries to tell me I'm in a distrusted area but all that does is let me know I'm about to murder about a dozen guards. Besides the odd person screaming I'm free to go about my activities then, though in saying that, I have cleared out entire garrisons with my predator bow. Most times for me, the ole guns blazing method is just fun and addictive haha.

And dont forget what was mentioned before, raven distraction is op. Free assassination for 1 bar (easy to get via stealth kill)

I've taken a break from AC Valhalla right now as I'm enjoying playing Cyberpunk 2077 and exploring in Night City, but I will definitely be coming back to Valhalla. I like it more than Odyssey. Probably the best of the recent 3 in terms of game play but not sure how the story unfolds yet. So far Origins has my favorite protagonist out of the last 3 with Bayek. It will be interesting to see how Eivor's tale unfolds.

@@jordansunderman5348 Yeah, in hindsight, I was wrong about Valhalla. It was a crappy AC game. I agree with you 100% Odyssey was much better.
@@oni1608 Odyssey was very cool with the overall balance and the way gear and stats mattered in creating a playstyle or build. Valhalla stats don't matter you can do anything all the time.
Also, Odyssey still felt to me very connected to the lore because of the isu stuff and the mercenary having a bloodline connection to Aya but Evior is like yeah 2 hidden ones live with me and said to kill these people so I do. And I don't really care or ask any questions.

When some people say social stealth in this game wasn’t useful I think it is useful because in major cities or enemies camps I had to use it to get to the objective without being detected
One thing on consoles that I can’t stand is how there’s no toggle walk/run. Ever since origins.. it’s so cumbersome to have to slightly tilt the analog stick the whole time in order to walk. They need a walk button Atleast, like in FF15

I played Unity and Odyssey and thought I was prepared. I WAS WRONG. Stealth in this game is, tricky without the right perks.
I quite like Valhalla stealth, at least the cloak and blending in, the last time I was “blending in” was back in revelations

A guard literally saw a pixel of me for 1/4 of a second and instantly spotted me... And im playing on f**king apprentice
Is the hidden ones armour good set or is the mentors set a better one for stealth
For assination hidden ones but it dosent matter after you get advanced assisiation skill and the mentor is the best in the game and its the best looking for stealth

Why ppl keep fucking around that stealth is broken in Valhalla? Like how broken? I dont have any problem clearing whole outposts and camps on Master Assassin without breaking immersion and random guard spotting me with thermal-sight? Yeah, you gotta put some effort into it, it works and looks clean as fuck.
I detest the detection aspect simply because I was on my horse within 150 yards of Wincestre and the two guards at the gate went from yellow to red awareness within three seconds. Thats how bad the detection system is.

You should make a far cry game list from best to worst in your opinion in light of fat cry 6 coming out later this year
I wish stealth wasn’t such a disliked way of playing these types of games. People say there’s no challenge in just oneshotting everyone, but there is a lot more thinking and planning in being stealthy rather than just spamming the attack and dodge buttons.
Guaranteed Assassination doesn't work on the 'Red Skulled' enemies in the higher areas. I'm PL 158-160 and have found that if you go to the higher difficultly areas to roam around and try to kill soldiers, it will bring up the 'mini game' to assassinate an enemy in one strike.

@@masterassassin791 It just feels so unrealistic with it glowing and everything. It is definatley not something that a viking would wear back then. Iprefer the more realistic armours.
what kills me is the speed at which he performs them is very slow and just does not feel very assassination. Just the animation is quite slow

Gotta say the newer update seems to make stealth fixed for me. I'm actually able to clear large area's with enemies now.

Well Ubisoft, maybe if you included a New Game +, I wouldn't have to use these things to grind XP at the beginning to get all the cool stuff before I actually played the story. Seriously a NG+ for this would be great, it's my favorite one so far and I really hate starting over from absolute scratch. So I'm just going to farm with this and the XP boost and make separate saves that I can go back to and play the story again.
Do not use sunin, do not use odin sight, do not use the enemy proximity HUD. Make yourself weak in melee so you are forced to really be careful and go stealthy
Sup man is it possible to make a stealth + heavy weapon build i just like the idea of running around hiding and when the sht hits the fan going gigachad on them

The whistle ia also the worst, simply all the guards turn around to look at the sound source while 1 is approaching, what do i do then, can't run because they will spot me, can't assassinate because they are all watching, can't use my bow for abilities or simply aiming because it no longer hides me in bushes. Instanly alerts the entire fking castle.
For me they often turn back around afterwards so idk what you're talking about
Use a smoke bomb (if you unlocked it)
or
Whistle around corners (once you assasinate from around a corner, Eivor pulls the guard around so others wont see it)
There are many ways to bypass your problem

I always forget that i have smoke bombs since you can only use it after a succesful parry and it's not an ability and it's pointless when you try to go stealth because you don't want to get detected in the first place.
You meant "there are many ways to bypass the poorly designed stealth". Except when you get randomly spotted through a wall or instanly spotted by a guard 30m away.
Even hostages are annoying, i freed them and the next thing they do is run and scream alerting every guard, it was funny and annoying, i do not remember much about origins but i think the hostages tried to remain hidden by crouching or it might be from another Ac.

You’ll see them just randomly stumbling around the city, hold Y or E on Pc to lure them and then again to have them cause a distraction that will lure guards to them.

My only complain is not being able to lure an enemy to a different area than where you're standing. Take Ghost Recon Breakpoint for example, You can toss a coin to the area to your right, then Blam!
He literally said that you can use a torch or your bow to lure your enemies in the other direction

Any of those tips do not matter when enemies can spot bodies or eivor from 35+ meters when they want to. Chain assassination simply makes the second target a beacon to any guard and if they want to instanly spot you fron afar they can, when the game wants them to. No alert meter, instantly alerted to your presence behind walls or not.
Never happend to me. Carry bodies and hide them if thats a problem
@@FeeIRG that's not the problem, it did happen to your but either you did not pay attention or aren't playing stealth.
Some archers that were 15m away with their backs turned for a solid minute decide to turn when i do an air assassination, load back, try again, same thing but they do not turn around, they never did, so why did they turn 180 that one time.
When i whistle everyone in close proximity turn around but only one approaches, and they stare for a while.
Sometimes they can spot me through walls, i am standing in a bush behind a wall broken in half, when i aim my bow immediate detection sound.
If "it didn't happen to you" then you have no reason to reply.
The assassin cantrip isn't working for me and I don't know why
