Southern Model Show is always a great event to visit for many reasons but my favourite is the temporary pond that is setup for RC watercraft of all types to demonstrate how they can operate on the water. Enjoy this collection !
Filmed by Dom Mitchell for the Essential RC RUclips channel at the Southern Model Show using the Panasonic AG-UX180 Pro 4K camcorder.

The Yamato has got be the one of the most beautiful battleship during WWII.
Nice ship
Beautiful models here. I especially like the ones which are operated at scale speed.
The yamato!!!!!
Yes. Some more RC boats. Nice share.
Bro those Battleships are awesome but the most best is Yamato and Musashi the biggest battleships ever built in IJN
I like nice and realistic battleships.
That's a great video.
That is certified buassin
Wonderful! So much to see, that must have been fun to video. As a kid, I had a model tugboat named "Cheryl Ann", designed from a real tug used in the TV series "Waterfront" 1954 - 1956. Later as a teen we installed RC for steering and throttle. We used it to tow a target raft with 2'x2' paper targets so we could plink at it with our .22 rifles. Our backdrop was over 30 km of water.
Awesome boats thanks for sharing
Very beautiful models
Can't wait to take my 6ft warship to the park as soon as it opens we have an awesome park in Dover but it has been closed since lockdown
We have a huge boat pond in Edinburgh. It must be around 100mx50m, and no longer do we see RC boats etc on the pond. I remember in the late 70s early 80 going on a Sunday to watch 40-50 boats. I guess that generation has passed. The smaller pond is now a wildlife sanctuary
What I would give to have water like that around here. Has been really tough to find somewhere in Hampshire to put decent boats on the water. Lots of lakes around but all sold off to fisheries or private companies. Makes my blood boil.
Essential RC Yes, I noticed how small the pond in the video was in comparison to the one I mentioned. I guess it's gone the same way all over the UK over the last 30 years. The one I mentioned is called "Inverleith" and I think there's still a small RC boat club, but it's nothing like I remember as a child. You might be able to see it on google earth, and if there's still a club I guess they will have a website. 👌🏼
Good
I think the models are terrific, it’s just that can’t some gyros or counterweights be used to offset the frequency of the side to side rocking motion such that they behave like their real counterparts ? On a real ship everyone would be ill, and the guns, cargo, etc would be affected at that rate.
It's HMS Hood
Arrive in yamato
Did the Person just Called " Musashi. " a " Masushi? "
The boat you didn't not make is Titanic
Titanic make it now
