Brilliant thanks Trever! Good news is the Oaklands line has had more work done although no enough. more is being done as we speak now. Have you had a chance to look at it recently?

I was up there a few days ago, there have been some small jobs done, but there are so many places that are lucky to hold a train... In some locations only 1 in 5 sleepers are able to hold gauge...

Have you followed the other side back to The Rock? There was also an underground black coal mine at Oaklands back early 20th century.

Yes I have driven along the old line. It's mostly still in place under the weeds! I do recall a company proposing a new coal venture near Oaklands in the last 10 years or so, but nothing came of it.

Thanks for showing the whole grain train at the end. I counted 46 wagons!! I wonder how many tonnes of wheat that is? Where did the train pick up the wheat please?

Wagons are about 60 tonnes each I reckon and origin is Oaklands NSW

@@WarwickRaverty yeh you might think that but the last 2 harvests have been 80% if not more taken up by road instead of rail due to the Low speed restrictions that are on the line (30kmh)
