So UK, US, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand citizens who are outside of these countries may not get responded to on time if they live outside of these countries?
I got hired quickly because I’m based in Australia where there are fewer teachers. People applying from US time zones may find that it takes longer to get hired because there are more teachers in their time zone. It depends on where you are teach in from and how many students there on in your time zone (this is what Cambly told me.)

Officially the website says that they are looking for native speakers, but some non-natives who are fluent do get hired. However, I recommend teaching as a freelancer if you are a NNS.
You can film your video using the site more than once and film it until you are happy with it. You can also film your own video and edit it and then upload it to your application.
I’ve heard no teaching experience is required, but I assume it’s preferred. I have an English degree and was looking for a side job I can do from home. All the comments I see are from people with teaching credentials …is this pretty much expected in order to be a tutor on Cambly?
@@ESLTeacher365 Officially, yes. Unofficially, no. I’ve talked to at least one tutor in the past who’s not a native speaker of English. I myself am a non-native tutor there.

Hello teacher. Can you please help me with tutoring on Cambly. I have two years online experience and been applying for Cambly with no luck please even if you go through my application to see if there is anything I am doing wrong, I would appreciate it.
When you start on Cambly, you will teach "priority hours." In my experience, most students just want conversational English practice, but some will want to use the Cambly materials. It's easy to follow along with the lessons and you can always add in your own materials.
**Question: Does Cambly (or others) want teachers for Biz-English? **Q2: How important is a person's age? Cambly asks about a person's age. **Q3: Do some of those platforms need teachers for subjects other than English? **Q4: Do some of those platforms need other than teachers? You have a good channel. -- Thank You.
Some teachers do offer Business English on Cambly, but it’s better to offer it independently. A person’s age isn’t important for Cambly. If you want to teach another subject to kids, you can try Outschool or Allschool. I’m not sure about other positions besides teachers, sorry!
I like to select "paid users only" during my priority hours. The amount of time the lesson is depends on what the student has purchased. I have taught 15, 30 and 60 minute lessons. Keep teaching until you meet students that take 60 minute lessons and then ask them to be your regular students.
@@joajoa3069 When you are just starting you, schedule priority hours to meet new students. If you meet a student who is a good fit, you can ask them to be a regular student and share your schedule with them. It takes time to build up your schedule so be patient :)
More accurately, it's 17 cents per minute for each minute you actually speak with a student. It's a maximum $10.20 an hour for regular Cambly and $12 an hour for Cambly Kids.
Hello Just want say thank you to Cambly for being so encouraging and supportive. The company told me that they hire based on time zone. If there are few students, but many teachers for example or can take a while to get hired. They also said they are aware of the issue and working to fix it.
Teachers are hired based on demand in your time zone (this is what the company told me). Hopefully you hear soon, but there are hiring freezes from time to time.

It’s $10.20 or $12 an hour. Yes, the pay is low, but Cambly also doesn’t require a degree or experience which makes it a good option for new teachers. It’s not sustainable long term of course!
Hi ma'am. I want to ask you a question because you have already taken classes on cambly. On the price page, seeing 3days per week and so on, if I take 3days per week of classes for 3 months, then I will get 36 classes in 3 months(if every month contains 4 weeks). Hi! I don’t take classes on Cambly, I teach them. I’m not sure how pricing works for students, so I recommend checking out their website for a support email address.
Does it pay well? No. Cambly is a great place to get started teaching online because it doesn’t require a degree or experience. However, if you want to do this full-time you will need to add on other companies or freelance. Is it worth it? For beginners who need experience, yes.

It’s more about the quality of your application and video. Teaching experience and even a TEFL and degree aren’t required.
Thank you for this video 😍. I'm non native English teacher may I apply or it's only for natives?
This company only hires native speakers. I have a video for non-native speakers on my channel you can watch.
@@ESLTeacher365 Officially, yes. Unofficially, no. I’ve talked to at least one tutor in the past who’s not a native speaker of English. I myself am a non-native tutor there.

Hey hope you are doing well. I just want to know can you recommend to start with teaching kids or adult on camply.... And if you want to teach kids do i need to buy any teaching materials like educational charts.
Thank you
It’s up to you. Kids require a lot of energy so keep that in mind. You will be following their curriculum but props can be helpful.
@@ESLTeacher365 Thank you so much another thing if you clicked kids can you later switch to adults or to both
@@ThembelihleDamane-hy9dp yes, you can always do both
How does this differ from Cambly kids? Do they tend to use more lessons instead of conversations?
Yes you use lessons instead of free chat.
Hey maam can you please help me how to build a British or American accent?
You can work with an accent coach, listen to music and watch movies and practice with native speaking friends.
I tried several of thinks you provided and I get data error. I would be interested in hiring you as a coach.
Hi! My website is currently down and I’m traveling. Please send me an email Jamie at eslteacher365 dot com. Thanks!
Hi hope you are doing great.... I just want to ask in terms of salary is this $10 for adults fixed or you have to range yourself up to $10. Thank you
It’s fixed per minute pay that equals $10.20 per hour, but you are paid based on how many minutes you teach.
If I am from India but I grew up in South Africa and currently I am residing in India again am I a native speaker to them?
You are considered a native speaker if it’s your first language.
Hello teacher. Can you please help me with tutoring on Cambly. I have two years online experience and been applying for Cambly with no luck please even if you go through my application to see if there is anything I am doing wrong, I would appreciate it.
If you aren’t accepted right away, you’ll want to redo your video
I want teach English online as a full time job and quit my current job. What could be your advice?
To do that I recommend working for several online companies or marketplaces and then transitioning to freelancing.
@@ESLTeacher365which other online companies do you suggest?
Can you request to just want to help students with conversational English? I have no teaching experience
When you start on Cambly, you will teach "priority hours." In my experience, most students just want conversational English practice, but some will want to use the Cambly materials. It's easy to follow along with the lessons and you can always add in your own materials.
@ESLTeacher365 thank you!
Hi thanx sooo much for this engsging ,helpful & informative. video. Is Cambly still open for hiring new teachers now...Feb. 2023?
Yes, however hiring is done due to student vs teacher demand in your timezone.
Also, are we provided with a lesson plan on Cambly?
Yes, there are lesson plans to use. However, many students just want to practice conversation.
Cambly "lessons" are generally awful.
Can people from other country which are not native apply to cambly?
Like Iran and turkey or kuwait?
If you have a high level of English, it’s possible. They mostly look at your accent.
Thank you for your teaching information and I am interested in teaching, does age count?
No, there are no restrictions for age when it comes to online teaching as long as you are over 18.
Can i teach arabic on camblu
No, it’s only English.
Why are lessons only 30 minutes max, starting out? How can I change this?
I like to select "paid users only" during my priority hours. The amount of time the lesson is depends on what the student has purchased. I have taught 15, 30 and 60 minute lessons. Keep teaching until you meet students that take 60 minute lessons and then ask them to be your regular students.
@@ESLTeacher365 I just started today, had 5 calls. Will that limit the calls I get setting it up that way?
@@ESLTeacher365 It seems slow no one is calling . I’m on cst time
@@joajoa3069 When you are just starting you, schedule priority hours to meet new students. If you meet a student who is a good fit, you can ask them to be a regular student and share your schedule with them. It takes time to build up your schedule so be patient :)

How much does the pay look like?
Pay is currently $10.20 USD an hour for Cambly and $12 USD an hour for Cambly Kids.
More accurately, it's 17 cents per minute for each minute you actually speak with a student. It's a maximum $10.20 an hour for regular Cambly and $12 an hour for Cambly Kids.
Thanks. However, can i teach even i"m not native English

Hi, how can I get a native English teacher online?
You can sign up to be a student on Cambly, Preply, etc.
Hello Just want say thank you to Cambly for being so encouraging and supportive. I've had a few health challenges lately and I have to wait for my social security check so I can get some headphones but I am planning on completing my application soon. You guys are great and seem like a family of upbeàt positive people. Can you please tell me if Cambly has the option of being paid daily? Or is weekly or every two weeks or monthly? Looking forward to joining your team soon.
You are paid weekly.

Do you think cambly is still hiring now, I have been waiting for their reply for month, it says my application is still under review.
The company told me that they hire based on time zone. If there are few students, but many teachers for example or can take a while to get hired. They also said they are aware of the issue and working to fix it.
@@ESLTeacher365 thank you for your reply.
Good day, Teacher! I applied at Cambly last February 6, but until now my application is still under review.
Teachers are hired based on demand in your time zone (this is what the company told me). Hopefully you hear soon, but there are hiring freezes from time to time.

i applied twice in june 2021 lol still under review is crazy. THey can atleast send a rejection lol

I don't recommend investing in the equipment and only applying to Cambly. If you want to teach online, you'll want to teach for multiple companies/marketplaces or freelance. I'm not sure if the demand info is public. This is what I was told by the brand.@@LisaMarieAdams
Cambly does not accept if you live in Massachusetts, usa or california, Usa.

Just found out that Cambly doesn't take tutors from California!!! So disappointing-Not to mention the time I wasted watching numerous videos about their platform!
Yes, unforutnately that's due to a California law related to gig work. A lot of companies won't hire from California for this reason.
You'll find that with most contracting type jobs in Cali. Sorry.
Hey dear do i need a webcam if I'm using a laptop?
Typically yes. The quality and angle will be much better.

How much were you paid for one session, Jamie?
Pay is hourly based on how many minutes you teach.
17 cents a minute for every minute you speak with a student
Unfortunately, if you're in California Cambly won't "hire" you.
That’s because of a gig work law in California.

this gig averages out to about five or six dollars an hour!!! that is all folks!
It’s $10.20 or $12 an hour. Yes, the pay is low, but Cambly also doesn’t require a degree or experience which makes it a good option for new teachers. It’s not sustainable long term of course!
Can you teach from an IPad? Thank you.
