- Hello and welcome back to our Transport Fever 2 series!
Today we're not going to be building anything extravagant, it's been brought to my attention that we've got vehicles running which are over 50 years old, which given buses are usually retired by 20 years of age... is pushing our luck a little bit!
So improving the bus network around Southampton and Portsmouth is a must, especially if we're to reduce some of this horrendous traffic! Okay so maybe we're going to have to put a railway in as buses just aren't cutting the mustard! Cue the extravagant building!

Joe, people can't take their cars out of their pockets. For example, one person who lives in one city wants to go to work at the neighbour city, he/she can take a train, but if there's no bus that connect the train station to his/her workplace, he/she will still drive a car. Therefore, bus coverage is really important in this game to reduce the traffic.
That’s very true Doctoronboard! I need to make sure that the bus connections to rail are really efficient… I mean it’ll take a while haha
@@JoeDobsongaming thanks Joe for implementing it in the last video
If you want realistic names, Brighton 'west' station should be called Hove. If you want a more creative name, 'Hove actually' would be good, as it's the most common response a Hove resident gives when you ask them if they live in Brighton
Brighton does need a railway or a bus running between the two. How about a heritage railway running on the freight line from Reading to Swindon next?
Well you may be in luck for
Tomorrows episode roadandrail 😁
The other station in 'Brighton' could be Hove :)
The station north off Portsmouth should be staggered that'd be so cool
Your Portsmouth North station is pretty well situated for adding in Southampton Airport to shuttle people and goods to Scotland.
Its time for highways and ringroads. Mass infrastructure time !
Joe you should run brighton to london via southampton (swapping ends and reversing) and reading and then run portsmouth to brighton as a shuttle service
The station north of Portsmouth could be called Portsmouth Interchange or Portsmouth Sidings
or Havant, the real junction station north of Portsmouth. The one outside Brighton, following a similar logic could be Hove.
Nice as always!!!
London - Swinton could be a 52 as its a 'Western' 👀
With the two stations at Brighton one is Brighton and the other would be hove
You need to get the Beta update running Joe and clean up that traffic ;)
It's bliss, whacked a few roundabouts in a city and it flows so nicely
@@xianeli8473 Thanks mate - I just got asked a question about how effective roundabouts were :)
Would be an idea to use the Brighton belle mod for the trains here
Suggestions station names coming out of Brighton Hove, Portsmouth Harbour the Terminal station other Portsmouth & Southsea and the one on the mainline Havant.
FYI Portsmouth trains using Brighton mainline from London turn off just before Brighton station and don't call there.
Very good video Joe
Hiya Joe, could we please have your modlist? It would be so good to have! (Day I dont even know)
12:41 the station has overhead power lines and not 3rd rail
Amazing work joe
Thanks Simon!!! 😊
19:30 not just 377s joe 450s aswell
9:25 think the update is out
