Thanks for watching and commenting. I can see where you're coming from for sure. I will say my HD T shirt is one of my most comfortable shirts to lounge in lol. In all seriousness, the problem i have with HD is they FINALLY get caught up to modern standards on a few of their bikes and throw a party while everyone else yawns and says been there done that. My biggest issue with Kawasaki is they seem to hate their customer base in the cruiser/bagger market and refuse to give them something better than a repainted 2011 Vaquero/Voyager. Nomad killed off in 2014, no updates that I"m aware of to 900 classic. I really want Kawi tp up their game and actually be competition to HD and Indian but would they have to sacrifice their cheaper MSRP to do it?
@@BigKatMotovlogs It's not just Kawi, Cruisers in general are leaving the marketplace, just go look at the big 4 japanese manufactures' websites for new models. HD is happy about this as it strengthens their market share, but it is a share of a dwindling market, riders are changing and what they want to ride is changing. HD has always built their brand on nostalgia and very long model life and ironically HD is terrible at evolution.
Great Video ! Did 2 Demo Days a week apart in western Canada in May 2024 - Both tours were awesome with variety of road conditions …Royal Enfield was casual & 1/2 hr long but we didn’t go on faster Hwy speeds (probably cuz bikes were only 300 to 650 cc range : Yamaha seemed like everyone does Track days as a hobby…1 hr long & we were always above the speed limit - I definitely had a fun time that day with this Yamaha sportbike group but not my usual slower pace
Thanks for the view and the comment! That definitely sounds like an awesome time! I would love to check out the Royal Enfield, they have a lot going for them. The new Himalayan I think is going to be great. Unfortunately I don't think anyone in my neck of the woods have Royal Enfield or hour long demo rides lol. Stay safe and have a good one.
@BigKatMotovlogs One time, I was leaving Colorado where it looks like Kansas. Another time, from the Southeast and ending up in Dodge City. Most cows aren't free roaming there? There's cows and burros out here and around. I do remember slowing down and looking for activity in the town squares in the evening. I found nothing going on. Part of my travels are meeting locals. I remember staying in Topeka, Dodge City and Hays on my trips. Wisconsin / Minnesota taught me to not have preconceived thoughts.
That no man's land area between western kansas and eastern colorado can be awful lol esp up around I-70. Smaller local towns are going to be pretty quiet in the evenings for sure, its the cities where the night action is. I definitely prefer the small town scene anymore. As for cows, they aren't allowed to roam free on roadways, if they out there it's because they are either being moved or they escaped lol. All in all sounds like you've had some good travels. Stay safe out there
I’ve ridden many different brands of bikes but have yet to ride a Harley, guess I’m going to have get over to HD and hop on one, but like you I enjoy my Kawasaki….let’s get at it!
Thanks for the comment, and yea give it a try. It really was a good time and it's worth it just to feel how other bikes roll, and you get to still love the Kawi.
When I did my Kawasaki demo ride in September 2022, I asked the guy about the breathalyzer I asked how many people failed it, his response you would be surprised. And they did it again after the lunch break...
I wonder why 'forced' all-day traffic schools don't do it after lunch? At least, they didn't back in the day. There was a bar in the motel, so we did get several warnings. (Obviously pre-edible days)
My experience in western Canada is that nobody except HD even has demo days post 2020. Indian used to but doesn’t anymore and I can’t recall anyone else doing one ever. It’s like pulling teeth to demo any bike other than HD where I come from.
Thanks for watching and commenting! That is so weird, you'd think the other companies are hurting themselves by NOT doing demo days. But, also, it's also rough to get non Harley companies to do test rides. Indian in my area will. But my closest dealership is Kawasaki and they are loathe to give out test rides. Stay safe out there.
Thr Harley circuit is probably shorter due to the number of people trying to get in. Can't cycle the bikes so often if the rides are too long, which means fewer people who want the chance can get one.
Such a cool memorial. When I was roaming from AZ to wherever the road takes me, I left Colorado for Kansas. The motel clerk at Hays asked, "First time here?" She meant Kansas, not the motel. I said yes, she asked IF Kansas on a motorcycle was as bad as everyone says? (I was on my busa.)
Thanks for watching and commenting! First touring on a busa?? I salute you lol, not exactly a typical touring machine but I appreciate the non typical. Second Kansas has it's beauty and it's ugly... so does Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Arkansas..Iv'e been to a few other states but you get the idea. The main point is appreciate what's there for what it is and not to set unrealistic expectations based upon where you've been. Third, I've been on alot of clean lonely two lane back roads where having a busa , or Fireblade or Ninja 1000 SX would have had a ripping time. BUT this is the country and not a track no matter anything else, and cows are sometimes in road around a blind bend...ask me how i know lol. Ride safe and have a good one.
I ride a 88 Goldwing 1500, and did the HD Demo day, rode a Road Glide, it was nice, good balance, close to the Wing, engine noise and vibrations compared to the Wing for me.. ya.. I'm not a V-Twin rider, and have a 2006 Suzuki C50 VL800 I'm helping my daughter with, and I don't like that one either.. I tried a HD Adventure bike, I liked that one better, noisy engine, both nice controls, figured them out fine, no driving issues, having 65k under me.. both have lots of power, more than my wing, but nothing I'd be interested in, I'm a boxer for life.
Thanks for the comment. It's a fact V twins aren't for everyone and I really wish other manufacturers would make or keep making cruisers in their native engine line ups. Such as what BMW is doing with their R1800 series. Or what Triumph did with their Thunderbird line. Problem of course is the NA market doesn't respond well enough make it worth their while to keep production I think. Even one of my first love bikes the Kawasaki Nomad got killed off in 2014. All that said, the Goldwings are absolute legends and are great bikes. GL with your daughter's Suzi and stay safe.
My Indian demo ride sucked so hard with a few of the riders that were riding so slowly on the freeway that the sweep couldn't push them. I was following the rules and stuck behind them. The sweeper finally had enough of the leaders disappearing that he just blew by us, and it was game on. At least, we could give the bikes a good acceleration test. The slow pokes showed up when we were already parked and off the bikes. That was my second and last demo day.
Thanks for the view and comment. Man that sounds horrible, I haven't run into that and I hopefully won't. Indian is my next goal as I have a few models I want to sit on. So far I haven't been able to ride all the models I wanted and any demo day so if I'm left with just one it's gotta be the Challenger, just for the comparison to the Road Glide and Vaquero. I want that feeling of each. Thanks again and stay safe.
@@BigKatMotovlogs For me, the Chieftain was too small, especially while 2-up. It also ran kind of hot. This is compared to the Vic Cross Country. Take it easy!
Have a 98 Kawasaki 1500 classic love that bike great looking I’ve always wanted a Harley and I guess after watching this video it’s because of the culture and of course I still think they make great bikes but the cost to maintain them and the price is the main factor for me not getting one. I don’t understand how in this day and age people can afford a new Harley they cost as much as a car. have my sites set on a used Vacquero in the next couple years. Maybe I’ll try out a Harley when I retire.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I've heard nothing but praises for the Classic from their owners. My first love for a bike, ironically has yet enter my ownership, and that's the Kawasaki Nomad specifically the 2014 model as it came with the KACT 2 breaking system. Plus I love the black and white scheme. Literally a budget Road King. I might do an on paper side by side review of those two bikes actually of that same year to keep it fair. About pricing, that's a hard one for me as I know it's subjective to where people place their value. But HD isn't price friendly for me, I see the cost and I can't justify it for a part time ride. I try to ride more than not, but no way I can ride enough to justify the cost. IF i were ever to get a HD it won't be older than 2014, but that's just me.
Fishing🎣😂😂!! That's awesome. Yeah, it 2 different worlds man. You should definitely do a redo on the Harley-Davidson demo. Those demo days are hard to make up. Glad you're bike is off sick leave😅. Stay safe!!👍🏿
Thanks for the comment man. Really do an HD Demo or test ride just for the experience of nothing else. I will tell you from my experience the most comfortable bike of any kind I've been on so far was a 2014 HD Heritage Softail. You can still love you Kawi, while appreciating how other bikes feel. That's why I starting doing demo days, just want to know how the others feel/ride. Keep 2 wheels done bud.
My experience is that HD wants your wallet, Kawasaki wants a life long rider.
