Just wanted to say at 59 years of age I am glad I got to see a band like you. I would like to say everything from music to what you wear is laid out perfectly . Thank you for the chance to witness your shows.
First performing band I've liked in 45+ years. What an incredible triumph of melding such a wide variety of disparate instruments into so much more than the sum of the parts ! First time I could call rock music actually *beautiful* !!
I've always loved the traditional pipes and drums but always wondered why no one saw the potential the pipes had. These folks have taken the pipes to a new level and I love it.
Mostly, i think, because in countries outside of Scotland people haven't been taught to play properly. You have to tune the chanters in order to sound this good and you have to make sure they stay in tune or it sounds like strangling cats. These people are the real deal, not the wanna be's.
When i was in college 40 years ago I heard a piper that won the all Scotland competition at age 14, he wanted to start a rock band around the pipes but no one would buy the idea at the time. Damn he was good. These guys are good, he was better. Bless you Alan MacLeod where ever you are
While they're good it's not necessarily "a new level", bag pipes have been used by other (modern) bands like listed in the comment here before, but also just to name a few more, In Extremo, Saltatio Mortis, Feuerschwanz...
I'm only 38 but this I can listen to 24/7/365 my type of music it helps clear my head when I am stressed out which is 24 hours a day but I try not to let my mind get the worse of me even though I do have mental problems
It takes courage to take such a traditional musical medium & turn it as they have but then again there is the raw talent that easily hurls over boundaries. Well done.
I stayed first time in Edinburgh this year and IT was wonderful. There i've seen pipesplayers live and IT was beautyful. I just found this Video today and i like your combination of playing pipes and Rock.. It is very amazing to listen to your Musik. Many thanks and many lovely greetings from germany
Why do we not have events like this in Scotland!! I'm a Scottish person who loves all things Scottish. Absolutely love this but do wish there was more here to represent us here. Thank you for being AWESOME! 🏴

Yes, but Celtica with this constellation is history :-(. I don't know what happens. Jane, Harold, Aya and Matthias have gone, only Gajus and Duncan left. And they have a new piper and drummer. Here is one of the rare songs with vocals: ruclips.net/video/8mR7l_aHHUoh/видео.html
I am amazed that so many in the comments are so amazed by the pipes. I have been listening to one great player and band after the other for 60 years. These guys are good, but I am old-school enough to wish they had more traditional drums, but hey, it's all for a new generation, so go for it! Enjoy! Welcome to melody and harmony, whippersnappers, if you've never heard it before. 🙄😉
Big Love for Celtica My Scots and Irish heritage is so very important to me as s writer artist and musician it is my choice not to let go. Love love and more LOVE.
I'm first generation Aussie but being of Scottish heritage i was brought up with the massed pipes and drums and love them, but also love this rock version of them. The first time I seen bagpipes in a rock band was ACDC Long Way To The Top, don't know why you don't see more of it.
Vivement le retour des concerts, des festivals.... Putain besoin de musique pour vivre. 😭 😠 En Bretagne, c'est la teuf et on se fait emmerdé mais on lutte pour la musique . ☺️👍.. Merci à tous les musicosses... Bataille.
When they had Jane Espie as part of the ensemble, this group was the best I'd ever heard - including Hendrix, The Dead & Joplin with Jefferson Airplane live in their prime. Just wish I had known of them & could have caught a live performance circa 2018.
I'm Polish in Aberdeen and this is the first time I hear rock like this, I'm 67 years old but it's awesome rock.
IM 50).....IM UKRAIN:). ROCK ON:)))))))))))))))))))))
At age 75 it's hard not to have heard "everything" but this new to me and I can't stop listening :)
Good because it is great music
Yes Celtica pipes rock . Keep rocking them pipes and drums and everything that you do.
definitely some of the better celtic rock groups on RUclips! i could listen to them for hours. Such talent & skills.

If i ever go see a concert in my life this would be the show i would like to see.
My grampa recently passed and they played bag pipes at his funeral. I've never felt so emotional attached to a sound as the bag pipes.
How is this not more popular???! These guys ROCK!!!
Because it' a copy to others bands.
Because not everyone in the world is a HighLander.
Pop never meant good...only popular.
absolutely love it. i want to someday visit scotland and tour where my great grandparents lived.

I really love hearing the Pipes and hearing it done live is just amazing. Thanks for the sharing.
How awesome is this !!! Never heard of these guys before today, but I'm a fan !
Just like me then :))

YOU NEED TO SEE eluveitie!! Prima Nocta, Corvus Corax and tons more of non-Scottish piping.....in my opinion far better. Medieval piping rules!
And my Scots brethren don't forget the Irish.

Good GOD that drum kit sounds FANTASTIC!
I love Celtic Rock, and have done since the mid 70s when I saw Horslips at a live gig in a hotel in Dundalk, Ireland, and they just blew my mind!

Great video. Hello from Calgary Canada.
Even though the published version is almost 2yrs old, it is still great modern music (I'm a celtic drummer among other things)!!
I'm first generation Aussie but being of Scottish heritage i was brought up with the massed pipes and drums and love them, but also love this rock version of them.
The first time I seen bagpipes in a rock band was ACDC Long Way To The Top, don't know why you don't see more of it.
