Apart from the quality of the playing, I truly appreciate the level of professionalism and care that goes into each of your videos. Still has that casual vibe though which I like too
4:13 That transition is awesome. I really love your videos, not only for the content, but for the way that you show that content. For me is also important. Thanks!
I absolutely love your song choices - there's some fresh songs that aren't "popular" in the mainstream, over-hyped or over-played sense. Actually, every one of your videos seem to include songs I've never heard before, but, after listening to, absolutely love. So thanks for sharing such awesome videos! I'm always excited to watch each new one you put out.
Thanks a lot for your last videos, they're great ! Could you please add the artist and title of the songs in the video or the description ? It's sometimes a bit hard to understand everything as a non native english speaker :)
I also love Re:Stacks-Bon Iver, King of Spain-The Tallest Man on Earth(it really fits in this video) I've Just Seen a face-The Beatles and I don't know, some Gregory Alan Isakov or Nick Drake
There are some RHCP songs that I would include on this list. Wet Sand, for example, is a great example of combining open chords with licks that are almost played with struming. By The Way is a nice exercise that'll teach you how to mute the strings properly. Same goes for Can't Stop and Scar Tissue.
Nine cats acoustic version, was my first song i tried to learn on the guitar :) its a song from actually before porcupine tree was formed in like the eighties, never expected my dear porcu tree to be in a list from paul though!
I hope you include some Neil Young. 'Old Man' 'Heart of Gold' 'Harvest Moon'. Those are some great strumming songs. Some John Denver like 'Eagle and the Hawk' and 'Rocky Mountain High' would be great for a list like this too!
absolutely delighted that you put in coldplay's us against the world. i really love their acoustic/organic stuff and those odd tunings and chord shapes/voicings :)
love it! I feel ready to step up my strumming game and also, want to know some "riffs" to play, just for the fun of it. strumming the guitar to pass the time, or so paul thx a thousand times, this is just what I've been looking for
I love that Martin! I watched your video on all three of your acoustics and the Martin is my favorite. I understand why use use the Taylor...but, if I could only have one guitar out of the three...it would be the Martin. I like the Collings too, but it would be #3. Beautiful playing Paul!
Great video, Excellent compilation! :) I would humbly suggest your info under the video could perhaps list the name of the songs/bands. Nice channel btw, seriously considering patreoning! :)
Very Nice, I'm always inspired to pick up the guitar when you start playing. The sound and rhythmic feel are beautiful. Every other tutorial about these songs are boring. Thanks Paul.
My top 10 strumming songs not in any particular order: Day in the Life Space Oddity Baby I Love Your Way Horse With No Name All Along the Watchtower Waterloo Sunset Psycho Killer We Used to Know My Sweet Lord California Dreaming
Thank you very much for all your great instructional and inspiring videos and lessons. Question: In many of the songs here, your thumb is hooked over the 6th string, 2nd fret. Are you muting the string or playing the note?
I quite like the acoustic intro to Alestorm - fucked with an anchor. Empire of the sun - we are the people, is also a really nice one. Both are quite easy. I don't know all on your list, but they sounded good.
My finals are in 6 hours and I should sleep...fuck everything, guitar is more important than everything and your video is amazing ! x) Come to France on day ! ;)
Drown with me by Porcupine Tree has to be on part 2. By the way, awesome taste in music Paul. I love the diversity of your examples. Listening to as much different music as possible really changes everything. Chris Stapleton also has some amazing strumming tunes.
On 'First Day of My Life' the progression from C to G to Am sounds like Phillip Phillips Home when he sings the "just know you're not alone" part. I really like that song.
Although considered a less orthodox song on this channel I recommend With You by Chris Brown. Despite being a hip hop song, the acoustic guitar in the track provides beautiful open chords with the guitar tuned down to e flat. It's a good intro song to open chords being very melodic with nice voicing on the strings giving it the effect of two guitars being played at once with a not so difficult strumming pattern.
only thing i would say about the editing of the current video is that it is strange to have you talking about the next song with the previous song still being played in the background. love your videos! cheers.
great video, im looking for song to keep myself inspired and motivated and your channel and overall content always does the job! thank you very much!!!
Wow those were beautiful. I liked the list from I think 6 or 7 on up.. coz I don't know them. Your videos are classy, really well done. Thank you for them!
Paul David's you should cover some of Dallas Green from City and Colour's songs. More than I ever could and coming home would be awesome for you to show/teach
Hello Paul I love your videos they look really good and theyre entertaining. But I want to ask you if youre going to make a video about electro acoustic guitars that are worth buying because I cant decides which guitar will be best for me.
I love your channel and a reason for that is apart from your beautiful playing your choice of songs is also too good. keep rocking and keep making those awesome videos. cheers
Around the time Drive came out I was just starting to learn to play the guitar, my older sister told me, "You should learn Drive by Incubus." Lets just say it took a couple years to get that one down, well, and to be able to sing along while playing it.

Can you tell me which song is the easiest and impressive for beginners consisting of two chord or three chords only .... Please reply asap
@@evansleb2020 try green day good riddance
@@Kyle-jn7xl thankyou brother
Yeah good riddance is a good one also my first song i learned
Apart from the quality of the playing, I truly appreciate the level of professionalism and care that goes into each of your videos. Still has that casual vibe though which I like too
Ben Skeem My thoughts exactly...
The tuning sounds slightly off and it's killing me
So true
4:13 That transition is awesome. I really love your videos, not only for the content, but for the way that you show that content. For me is also important. Thanks!
anyway, here's wonderwall
Today is gonna be the day that it's not in a strumming video.
Paul Davids By now he should've somehow realized what you're not to do
Jeremy Wilson I don't believe that anybody feels that it would be in the video not
I love these videos, tons of fun to watch and great help to figure out what to play next, thanks!
Definitely ....maybe
I absolutely love your song choices - there's some fresh songs that aren't "popular" in the mainstream, over-hyped or over-played sense. Actually, every one of your videos seem to include songs I've never heard before, but, after listening to, absolutely love.
So thanks for sharing such awesome videos! I'm always excited to watch each new one you put out.
You choosed good songs but you should have given songs name in screen, it would have been much better
Swo Young you made a good point but should work on your English writing. Your comment would have been much better.
Trevor L. Burgess Settle down
@@trevorl.burgess4279 thats why he comented that...for us non english speakers its easier to read than hear
@@trevorl.burgess4279 what a condescending, ignorant comment.

Man, everything in this video screams quality. Everything. Thank you for your channel! Big hugs from Brazil.
Us against the world: one of my favorite acoustic songs. It's just beautiful
Great video, Paul ! I was just thinking: I'm working too much on my fingerpicking and too little on my strumming. And "puff" ! Magic happened ;)
Haha, I don't believe in magic. This has to be fate ;)
:D Love also the idea of sorting by increasing difficulty :)
I spent all my time on strumming mostly to learn chord shapes. Now I suck so much at finger picking. Feels like I just started out again 😂
Anthony Lazaro
"Puff! the Magic Happened"?!? Sounds really familiar - it's right on the edge of my brain; now what is it ... hmm. 🤔 😁
That bright eyes song is a song i spent 5 minutes learning but has stuck with me over the years
Thanks a lot for your last videos, they're great !
Could you please add the artist and title of the songs in the video or the description ?
It's sometimes a bit hard to understand everything as a non native english speaker :)

King of Spain-The Tallest Man on Earth(it really fits in this video)
I've Just Seen a face-The Beatles

In between beginner and intermediate.
I was stuck snd getting frustrated until now.
Thank you!

Luis Miguel Martinez spread the frusciante love
Breaking The Girl must be here
My Friends from the One Hot Minute album is an under rated acoustic strumming song. Not Frusciante, but still really good.
Frusciante is a fuckenn guitar God
Under the bridge it's a great strumming song as well!
Never thought I would hear a old tune from Porcupine Tree here! Love it !
Which song was itt ????
Nine cats acoustic version, was my first song i tried to learn on the guitar :) its a song from actually before porcupine tree was formed in like the eighties, never expected my dear porcu tree to be in a list from paul though!

If anyone's wondering, the first one from True Detective is called Far From Any Road, by The Handsome Family. Good outfit, worth a listen.
The way you played daughters really made me feel something. Beautifully played
absolutely delighted that you put in coldplay's us against the world. i really love their acoustic/organic stuff and those odd tunings and chord shapes/voicings :)
Paul your videos are of some highest quality content I watch thanks!!
4:14, subtle but smooth transition there
Love how you included Daughters - underrated song. Cheers for the content.
Literally won a Grammy 😂
Great musical taste + great playing ----> great video as usual my man Paul Davids
you're killing it bro
love it! I feel ready to step up my strumming game and also, want to know some "riffs" to play, just for the fun of it.
strumming the guitar to pass the time, or so
paul thx a thousand times, this is just what I've been looking for
I feel horrible seeing your no of subscribers! Your the best guide for guitarists on youtube.
He just hit 1M subs! How do you feel now? 😍
I love that Martin! I watched your video on all three of your acoustics and the Martin is my favorite. I understand why use use the Taylor...but, if I could only have one guitar out of the three...it would be the Martin. I like the Collings too, but it would be #3.
Beautiful playing Paul!
Thanks for mentioning that Mike Einziger played the guitar on Wake Me Up. It's like my childhood and adulthood coming together
The camera work is great. Awesome songs and you look like an awesome nice guy! Thanks dude.
I love all of them Idk where to begin, I'm gonna learn them one by one!!
When you put Drive on the list we became friends. Sounds great!
Great video, Excellent compilation! :)
I would humbly suggest your info under the video could perhaps list the name of the songs/bands.
Nice channel btw, seriously considering patreoning! :)
You keep me motivated to learn how to play guitar in which one of your videos.
You Don't Care for Me Enough to Cry by John Moreland is a fantastic song and I love the way he plays this song particularly
You make it look so easy. Thanks for the inspiration
I love this kind of videos thank you Paul
This man is a genius! Love all that you upload!
Thanks again for another great video Paul.
From Syria thank you Paul very much
Time flies - porcupine tree... One of the best and challenging songs to nail to perfection on an acoustic ! Has to be on the 2nd list
It sounds so clean...and it looks like magic. One day 👌
Very Nice, I'm always inspired to pick up the guitar when you start playing. The sound and rhythmic feel are beautiful. Every other tutorial about these songs are boring. Thanks Paul.
Never put together how similar the chords are for First Day of My Life and Don't Think Twice It's Alright by Bob Dylan. Great video as usual
Paul Davids you’ve done it again!! Thrilled to see porcupine tree’s 9 cats in there 😍
That Martin is heaven
this dude is fricking good at guitar and he looks like Connor McGregor
You don't get yourself those two gorgeous guitars unless you are reallu good at playing them
One day I'll get a Martin as well... Wish me luck.
I agree with the first half of that comment. He looks nothing like Conor IMO
More like Lionel messi
This guy is much more handsome
I love how much Prog love you give. Procupine Tree is the bomb!
I'd do anything to have you as my guitar teacher! Keep up the great work, your videos are great!! :D
3x5 by John Mayer is a great strumming song with a mix of basic and extension chords but with quick transitions!
which song did you play at the intro, from 0:00 to 0:05????? It's so good...
Edit: If someone knows the song, please reply..
Nice video, and that Collings OM is SICK!
55th yay 😂😂😂
Apart from jokes, it's 5am at where I live. but that's not going to stop me from watching a fresh new video by you :v
❤ from Bangladesh
Sleeping is just as important as playing ;) Tomorrow this video will still be here! Cheers mate!
Late to the party, but I'd add 'May I?' by Kevin Ayers off the 'June 1, 1974' live album. Great strumming tune with some very Euro changes.
"Cracy on You" by Heart would fit nicely into a list like this...
Lucky now! Love that song
That’s a really amazing guitar, nice strumming too 🙂
Amazing paul keep this good work on
awesome work & skill!
I always like playing Flamenco too do you have a video on great flamenco songs? If not can you make one please?
Curly Quote hes got a full video with only fingerpicking songs in the same style as this one
jereak ok thanks
Curly Quote yeah man, some flamenco would be awesome
Patrick Koekenbier yeah man
He's not a flamenco guitarist, dumb ass.
My top 10 strumming songs not in any particular order:
Day in the Life
Space Oddity
Baby I Love Your Way
Horse With No Name
All Along the Watchtower
Waterloo Sunset
Psycho Killer
We Used to Know
My Sweet Lord
California Dreaming
I could watch your videos just to hear the guitars; You record guitars, especially acoustics, perfectly.
That martin sounds so fucking Good!
Thank you very much for all your great instructional and inspiring videos and lessons.
Question: In many of the songs here, your thumb is hooked over the 6th string, 2nd fret. Are you muting the string or playing the note?
I think Michael Bublè - just haven't met you yet is a great strumming song, super fun and lots of chord variations, a must I reckon
Another good way to play the Avicii song is Bm, D, G without a capo. Sounds good and is pretty simple if you don't have a capo
So Far Gone - Thousand Foot Krutch has a really nice acoustic strumming over the intro and verse (:
I quite like the acoustic intro to Alestorm - fucked with an anchor. Empire of the sun - we are the people, is also a really nice one. Both are quite easy. I don't know all on your list, but they sounded good.
This is the first day of my life & I'm glad I didn't die before I met you

As i know you are a fan of John Mayers guitar playing, i really hoped the acoustic version of "In repair" would be on here. Such a beautiful song.
Heart of Gold - Neil Young! Thats one of the best strumming songs ever!

great video, im looking for song to keep myself inspired and motivated and your channel and overall content always does the job! thank you very much!!!
awesome video, thanks man.... From the day by I Am they has an easy yet effective strum and gives the songs a really cool upbeat vibe

I love Mike Einziger!! Didn't know about that. I challenge you to do Mike Einzigers Solo in "Sick Sad Little World" with all the Effects :-)
Got the chills the moment that True Detective opening song came up.
Thanks for the Ryan Adams song mention. I never heard that one. Very nice!
William it was really nothing by The Smith's is really challenging. The acoustic guitar on that track is great, really fast and nice chord voicings
hey paul, a video on thom yorke or jonny greenwoods guitar playing would be great!
You just earned a sub! Thanks for being awesome! cheers from sweden!
Awesome video! Its nice to see the strumming getting some love. Now excuse me while I spend the next week trying to play "drive"
Hey, Paul
Greetings from Bulgaria!
I suggest you check out Seethers "Walk away from the sun" and "Save Today"
Keep up the nice work :)
Grizzly Methal I’ve been to Bulgaria a few years ago 😍

Great hearing you play! Can you tell me what strings and gauge you use on the Martin Guitar? Thx!
What's that strumming pattern he uses before the video starts? At 0:00 . That's the only one from the list I'm interested in learning lol.
liked these song choices.
okay drive sounded identical to the recording wow nice video
You are awesome ! Thank you for this lesson 🙏
