- A longplay of Donkey Kong Country.
Donkey Kong Country is a 1994 platforming video game developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was first released on November 21, 1994 in North America, on November 24, 1994 in Europe, and on November 26, 1994 in Japan with under the name Super Donkey Kong . Donkey Kong Country was the first Donkey Kong game that was not produced or directed by Shigeru Miyamoto, the character's original creator. It was directed by Tim Stamper instead, although Miyamoto was still involved with the project.
In Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong, together with his nephew and sidekick Diddy Kong, must recover his stolen hoard of bananas from King K. Rool and the Kremlings. Upon investigating the empty "Kong's Banana Hoard", located directly underneath his home in the Kongo Jungle, Donkey Kong embarks on an adventure throughout his native Donkey Kong Island. While collecting bananas on the island's vastly different regions, Donkey Kong must defeat many enemies, including the reptilian Kremlings, and other hazardous creatures native to the island. Aiding him in his quest are some of the other Kongs: Diddy accompanies Donkey Kong on his quest, Cranky provides hints (and comic relief), Candy operates the island's save points, and Funky offers a means of transportation around the island. Also assisting Donkey Kong at times are various 'animal buddies' (Rambi the rhino, Expresso the ostrich, Enguarde the swordfish, Winky the frog, and Squawks the parrot), each with their own unique abilities. After progressing through the island's different areas, Donkey Kong ultimately arrives at a pirate ship called Gangplank Galleon, where Donkey Kong's nemesis and the leader of the Kremlings, King K. Rool, awaits with Donkey Kong's Banana Hoard. Upon his defeat, the game ends with a final shot of Donkey Kong's Banana Hoard restored to its former glory, filled with bananas once again. - Игры
I'm 47 years old and my mind is blown. I played the sheet out of this while I was in college decades ago. I can't recall my percent but it was no where near 100%. I decided to attempt a complete game today and broke out my cart. After finding myself at the end of the game an no where near 100%...yet again...I asked google to help me and I find this video. FFS, I didn't even know how to set barrels down. I managed to earn a degree in civil engineering and couldn't figure this out.
I remember back in the day being very impressed of that clamping jaw sound effect those mini gators make, I often fond myself emulating it.
I like the sound, too
By the way, they're called Klaptraps.
I still make that sound when I see them. :D
This person just ruined my childhood. I actually thought i did well with 100%, now i see there was actually 101 :(

You have no idea how helpful this was while I was trying to find the secret areas in this game on the Super NES classic.
Thanks to you; I am now at 100%, and am almost ready to go take on Gangplank Gallion.
Just one last trial and I finally beat my first video-game.
Wish me luck.
Great game, great playthrough, great sounds.
In my opinion the greatest game ever made. this and the second DKC had the best game soundtracks ever created .
One of the greatest SNES games EVER
Im boring of this game ...
@@IrinaSwat try U.N. SQUADRON - snes from 1989/91/92 ... on GAMER
When you doing a bonus game, that 99 seconds feel like 45 😂😂
Oil drum valley has my most favorite sounds track in this game
I always love that little hooting sound DK makes @ 0:36 (He also does it if you make him wait for long, while chestbeating).
I remember as a kid, my best friend used to nickname the swordfish "Excuseme," because whenever he had it ram an enemy, he'd say "Excuse me!"
I don't care what other people say, I think this style of pre-rendered graphics still look amazing.
I could play this whenever i want to because my SNES is still working fabulously!
Plipppie *Mine too!*
So what are you doing here?
Everything about this game was awesome to me. The SNES was the first *real* game console I ever played on and DK Country along with Super Mario Worlds basically made my childhood. Even though I never got too far within one sitting, I still loved it. Big thanks to Nintendo for all the amazing memories.
Hannah Slays same here.
"I did this using one life and I took less than an hour"
Haha! Still makes me laugh just as much as it did back then. Nostalgia.
Thank you sooo much Amy! Really appreciate the time and effort you put into this game. Idk how many times you played it, but you made it look effortless. I followed your video and got 101% for the first time in my life. Now it’s time for Diddy’s Kong Quest!
For me this game probably hits its peak at Tanked Up Trouble 1:28:30! The music, environment and game play are incredible
I love this game so much! in my opinion this is the best game ever made
Agreed
This game is really good, but DKC2 is way better.
@@giilley7499 whos candy kong
I love your long plays of these games. I remember how much trouble I had with some of these lvls lol. Had to play my brother’s saved game to see what later levels were like.
no joke, this game has some amazing memories for me. most of all though, the thing that STILL impresses me about this is the Music and how hauntingly beautiful some of the tracks are. great play through!
This game, the music, all brings back childhood memories. :)
This is the best SNES game ever, thanks for upload it fellow youtuber
The dkc trilogy was the godfather of video games
not really just ur opinion
@@4skaash
Ur rite, godfather 1 a best.
This game was ahead of its time. Simply superb! I remember getting this included with my SNES . I played the heck out of it. Damn this thing was fun.
The graphics really impressed me a lot, but the game was difficult
Omg thank u for the upload brought back memories this was awesome and me singing along to it 😊😊☝️️🎉🎉💕
I loved watching this!! I like speedruns of this game too but there's something even more satisfying about seeing it being played the way the developers intended. This was an awesome run and you are very skilled. Kudos!!
Perfekt!,, gespielt. Besser kann man das nicht! Bravo!
holly cow, I subscribed to you, I can't believe how good you are at almost every game I seen so far. I watched a few of the sonic games and then I am still currently watching this one. it is mind blowing how good you are. I am good at sonic games but you blow me away with your skills.
DKC games had the best music. This was Rare at its best.
Loving the longplay video of this game. DKC1 is an okay game to me. There are 2 things I like about watching this (while bringing back memories). 1) The water stages & 2) all of the music that stands out. It's the thought that counts in the end.
I remember this game I miss this game it was fun came out 1994 I was 2 years old back then
Bit of a warning, Torchlight Trouble contains a white flash every time Donkey Kong turns around, so beware.
thanks rose I always get 98% complete on all DKC series now I know how to finish it
Wow you're amazing really reminds me a lot of what it was like almost a decade ago
I remember playing this game as a kid on a tv which would display the colours wrong whenever you hit it. I loved that
My favorite game of childhood. Good memories!
wow awesome job now I know where to find all the bonus stages you've got better skills then me
Guys, I have a tip. This counts for DKC 1-3, if you want to have a specific Kong appear on the map, play the level with the OTHER Kong, and switch to the Kong you want on the map at the goal. That way if you get hit, you play the rest with the Kong you want on the map. Just make sure to switch to the other Kong after you destroy a DK Barrel.
Those graphics are still impressive for the 90s. I was like 9 when this game came out.
Gene Paul Born in '85?
Beast!! It remembers me to my younger years :)
Poison Pond always made me kind of sad. The music and the polluted water with all the poor animals was the first time I realized as a kid that we humans are disgusting to mother Earth. I knew some where on Earth this was real. It's crazy that a video game was my first lesson in pollution and human kind being gross...😢
they didn't drink it is breathe it at all
Eco Fighters and Captain Planet helped raised awareness in young kids.
When I was younger, I used to rush this actual level to the end within a few minutes, simply because I though the polluted green water would eventually kill you! :P
The Kremlins were the cause of that polluted water. They in fact created all those industrial complex in that stage. So yea....
It was always funny to me how easy it was to rack up lives in this and Super Mario World. Well done. You probably had over 200 lives accumulated.
Hello Amy Rose, I am a new subscriber and RUclips recommended your video to me. This video guide is great, you just need to show if the game says 100% when it is complete. Now I'm going to see the rest of the games like Don King Kong and Rockman, greetings from Argentina 👏🇦🇷😃
We only had the second game growing up, so this video answers a few questions.
Legend ! :)
Yo you missed a secret, in the industry type level when on the first mission when you do the secret with the 3 barrles and you go for the barrle with the single banana in in you get a barrle. That much you did however you broke the other wall open in the secret but dident go through, to go through simply jump with diddy holding the barrle into the wall and you will go through to the next secret.
If you throw the barrle or just run the secret freezes and ends you have to jump at it
@@issacharezechias2209 Who hurt you sweetie
Legend! 8)
I miss playing this game...
Wow, I didn't get one little obscure secret I saw in level 3 (the one with all the barrels and you ride Expresso like everywhere) kept me from having 101 file. I remember seeing my Uncle do it and only completing the game once. I was only able to get to 100% file. Seriously nice job. P.s. The sound bite for the heavy enemies are funny as hell--orrggh! Lol!
I wish I could play this game again again and again I wish that would be fun I like Donkey Kong go Donkey Kong
i learned a trick growing up when doing barrel cannon canyon in the first secret room when you jump in the first barrel, keep pressing the button you press to shoot out of the barrel repeatedly until you get to the end no need to wait until they line up as you will hit each barrel on time
Ahh, i remember this game. Good times. Amy, you're doing God's work.
the greatest song of all time:D
This game was so lit back then
hola me encanta este juego yo crecí jugando a dkc 1,2,3 lo mejor buenos tiempos
If you had snes , having this game was mandatory!
I just finished the game and I completed it with 60% lol now I'm here to see wth I missed!
best game i still have
Best game ever created
Three cheers for Amy Rose Longplay and Donkey Kong Country (SNES) 101% Complete Longplay
Damn KONG letters, damn admiration signs!!
cool memories
Who had that feeling when they are about to complete a hard level and got all three animal tokens then complete the bonus level a start back at the middle of the level ( or beginning)?
When a player has 99 lives you know how hard of a time the bosses are going to have in their attempt at putting you down ;-)
This is TAS
32:22 & 32:31 Love the switching.
excelente !!!!!
The game is one of my favorites on the Super Nintendo
there's actually a short cut in 47:04 when you reach the lower barrel shoot it facing down, you'll head to a barrel that takes you to the end.
Memories..
Imagine if there was a Donkey Kong Country/Minions crossover. Kevin and the rest of the minions would find DK Isle and be the ones to steal all the bananas from the Banana Hoard. DK, Diddy, and Dixie would have to find them and defeat all the minions.
Obrigado
Amazing graphics -I still don't know how they managed these graphics on the SNES.
VicInNocal they used a silicon graphics computer and compressed it into a cartridge
Yea um what they^ said. Duh.
(When DK gets hit by enemy): OOH! 😲💥
(Balloon Pops)
(DK scratches his head in confusion)
My Childhood Video Game
This game was released in North America the same month in 1994 when The Santa Clause (With Tim Allen) appeared in theaters.
The feels men..fear factory sound....
I rented Donkey Kong Country SNES game at blockbuster when I was a kid.
Nice Work , you got a new subscriber ^_^ " GZ
I never noticed until now that this game uses ! to mark levels you 100 Percented too.
I wonder howmany tries it took to get this right. After one mistake you have to start over again.
Holy fuck the nostalgia
AMAZING!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!!!!
Você é muito foda nos games retro você podia trazer jogos como Killer Instinc cadilacs dinosauros você é menino ou menina parabens pelo canal
I don't I'll ever get off it.
Nice longplay Amy Rose. Hey can can you do a longplay on sonic unleashed please?
Imagine how long it took to code this whole game
Who would've thought Amy Rose is a DK Country Jesus! Even she's lost all hope in Sega.
"Hey, if you can't beat'em...beat their video games!"
in this game, there are four different colors of zingers. they got magenta, orange, yellow and cyan. 😊
only magenta and edd have green rings instead of blue. 😆
this player knows all the secrets but unfortunately didn't do advanced techniques like... attacking enemies with their other attack.
Now do the sp version on the fuel collecting platform version, what a nightmare.
Ive always been too stupid to finish this game and after over 20 years i know the end
NEW MOVIE
YES
I don't know why the music in this game is so realistic, but in DK2 and DK3 is like any other Snes game.
Maybe it's because more content = less sound.
By far the best Donkey Kong game. The other 2 were garbage
Bull shit first one was almost as good as the second.
2nd one was almost as good as the first*
Nah personally I like the first better for nostalgia but the second game was hands down the best of the three.
Is this on the actual SNES or is it on an emulator/Virtual Console?
I'm wondering this because it was written (in two Player's Guides I had) that that hidden bonus room in Oil Drum Alley (at 1:17:09) could only be accessed once in the game and only by doing it the first time in the SNES version.
Although this game was good, it's a great example of how the original is NOT always the best.
