Of course there is more to singing then blowing water in a bottle however this technique shows you a lot and helped make my voice much stronger! I went to Voice Therapy and they gave me one of these..very helpful!
Hi professor!!! thanks for sharing your theorical tips and drills on how to use the tube in a proper way in order to improve vocals!!!! Juan from Buenos Aires.
All the straw exercises are ony going to make you a tense speaker and a tense singer. You are teaching your muscle memory to stop air at your throat mostly, instead of your diapgrahm. If you blow air into any kind of resistance device (straw, tightly pursed lips, water-straw device, baloon etc.) you need to overpower the resistance. To overpower it, you will use higher air pressure. In order to create higher air pressure, you will be forced to squeeze the air. Throat is, where it happens. So, you remove all the benefits of the open throat singing, like resonance. You always will sound tight. To strengthen the diapgrahm, you need to figure out how to isolate it. Learn to breathe in and blow out your breath only by your diapgrahm without any other tension included. You will be suprised how quickly it will open up your voice. (Do not overexercise the diapgrahm, it can be dangerous to exhaust it. Exercise carefully.)
So are you saying that we cannot play something that requires very high air pressure, for example a trumpet, without squeezing air from our throats?? Even though nobody who plays such instrument does that? The squeezing happens at the tube, because of the back pressure. Your diaphragm is what is doing the pushing.
Speech pathologist in training here: This is incorrect. To speak or sing you always need to overcome a resistance, which you create within your voice lips. If there was no resistance your voice lips would be paralyzed. No air pressure opening the voice lips aka overcoming the muscular resistance = no voice No pressure created by air from below = voice lips closed In order to not harm voice lips, which include the vocal chords, you need to be able to create a regulated airflow. If the airflow is too soft, you'll have a very quiet voice, if it is too hard and ending abrupt you'll have the lips smashing and harming each other. Plus you won't be able to hold a tone for long. LaxVox helps regulate that airflow as you can visually see it in the bubbles + the vibration through the tube is like a massage for voice lips and vocal chords. Excuse any grammar mistakes, I'm from Germany.
If i live in a remote area that it is impractical to have this special straw, will it be a problem if i apply a regular straw or hose of the same diameter? will that be dangerous or will that be simply less effective? Thank you very much
Hi, thanks for the video! One question, you seem to have much more water than 4 cm in that bottle! I just measured and marked my bottle to 3 and 4 cm and it's very little! Also, is it okay to feel like a strong sort of vibration on the cords? It doesn't feel uncomfortable but it is a very weird sensation. Thanks!
Yes, I guess you're blowing very hard. You shouldn't need to put a lot of pressure, make sure to relax the muscles in your cheeks until they kind of swing. This vibration should then go all the way into your throat and massage your voice lips including the vocal chords.
I guess this only shows no technique is without risks. You should see a voice therapist, they’re the best to guide you through exercise. Also, if you have any wound the exercise is not recommended.
Thanks to this exercise, I’m always able to rehab my voice after a laryngitis. It’s a perfect warmup exercise before a live.
I bet people be like wth are u doing lol
@@danman7242 no, because I practise alone 😂

Makes sense! Thanks

My brother did it diy style with a simple hose with the same diameter, works perfect

3-4 cm is not the level for the water, it is the depth of tube in the water.
dutchies are the best! thanks for this tip
Question: Are the benefits in singing momentary and or are they cumulative and progressive?
slds
Thank You 🙏🏻
Many thanks... do you only do it after singing? And for how long?
Hello, can I thicken my voice with this product? I am male and my voice is quite feminine. Please response me as soon as possible.
Burak Yılmaz yes, but you need other techniques as well. Surch about nasal resonance, and diaphragma breading!
My tube is a bit shorter and narrower, does that make a big difference or should it be OK?
meth lab called, they want their bong back
Why is it any different than lip buzzing?
it adds resistance of a water
If I get a sore throat after this exercise, am I doing it wrong?
