The story of these games being preserved is wild. This was after a fan remake was canned by Capcom, and then Capcom didn't include these in the collections. In fact, there are so many spinoffs in this series that they could easily fill a 2nd collection.
Probably because there are no official iMode emulators. The one that was totally not shown on this video is the first of its kind, created by fans specifically to play this game.
glad you enjoyed! ✨ it's really a shame there are so many BN-adjacent games that were left out of the collection, so many of them are so good. but there's something about the story of incredible work done by fans making these accessible again that makes them feel extra special and helps me enjoy them even more? i guess that's the silver lining
They should have at least put the battle network game cube game in the collection also but we didn’t even get that so they definitely weren’t going to do something this obscure.
I genuinely like the idea of computer cache/server cache being tghe cause of glitched/'ghost' versions of defeated navis to start terrorizing and causing havoc around. Surprising it was just a phone plot hah. Also, would have been an excuse to make more variations or even mixed versions/combined versions of some navis due to... glitchy data or filling empty spots with garbage
I think Capcom lost potential thousands if not millions of dollars, for not making a Battle Network MMO, because with how much people liked the GBA games, and how there were even accessories and stuff in Japan to be able to use actual functional battle chips in real life, as if you were the real operator instead of just controlling the Navis, it showed that Capcom had been willing to experiment, and the people who bought those things demonstrated that the interest was there. With how everyone nowadays have a smartphone or tablet, it would be the best time to make the Battle Network MMO, especially how pretty much almost everyone has access to the internet now. If they did not want to make the MMO however, the least that they could do is make an operator type of game for mobile, where you could buy cards with either QR codes or NFC tags, since pretty much all phones and tablets nowadays are able to recognize them, which would allow you to feel like you were in the Battle Network universe, and if they added PVP and all that stuff into that game, then the experience would be even better. But I guess since Capcom isn't doing any of that, they just don't like money or taking risk, as sales from the Battle Network collection showed that people are still into the series.
still hoping for some kind of new mobile MMBN game 🙏 it'd be too perfect, some sort of Battle Network MMO is a dream game for me. i hadn't thought about tying physical items into it, that would be really neat. but probably also wildly expensive 😖

Why were these not in the legacy collection. >:(
Thanks for covering this, it’s so great to learn about more official battle network content

@@PowerPandaMods I hope this is a sign of the future. FF7:Before Crisis, KH:Coded-there are a lot of significant mobile games lost to time.

Great video this is very interesting glad someone is talking about it. Mega man is one of my favorite series ever.
God in heaven they really fight tooth and nail against any form of real preservation don’t they
Will you be doing Legend of Network as well?
Are we sure it's "Mega Man: Phantom of Network" and not "Mega an: Phanto of Network"?
Cache is pretty much just Kid Buu or Baby
lmao, i knew the design reminded me of something but i hadn't connected the dots until now
