Before I line dry my gear, I run it through the spin only cycle in my washer for a couple of minutes. It definitely help get the excess water out and speeds up on the line drying process. Just make sure you don’t overload it or your washer will try to dance out of your garage.
…dance out of your garage😀
never thought i would find myself so entertained by someone washing their gear 😂 thoroughly enjoyed it though, thanks for sharing how you clean it!
The CGI on this channel is just amazing! Also, did NOT know I could wash my helmet like so. Good deal too because I never take it off.
you just know jake uses wd40 for bed play time 👀✨
I buy mine by the gallon
This has been here a long time, and I don't know if you've already got the answer to this, but here it is anyway...
Dry cleaning is a waterless process that uses a solvent in a large high-capacity tumbling machine to clean clothing. The solvent is then extracted from the fabric and the clothes get steamed or pressed, and packaged to be returned to the customer. I'm pretty sure that's how it works. It's either that or pixie magic.
I did this with my leather jacket and it shrunk up like a damned raisin!!! CURSE YOU!!! haha just kidding
Thanks for tutorial - sometimes it just takes someone to tell you what to do and then you think "Well duh, why didn't I think of that?!"
I sweat A LOT!! Way more than most people - but I'm 1/4 Swedish so that's why. My friends call me a polar bear cuz I wear shorts year round and love my house to be in the mid to high 60s all the time! And humidity is the worst!! I sweat immediately. BUT NOW, thanks to you, I've got some proper cleaning ideas.
I'm going to buy 3 pairs of pads for my helmet. Wear 1 while riding, one is drying and one is on deck (more dry than the other) if I need to swap out on a long ride.
Thanks mate.....now about that leather jacket.....
Dry cleaning means they don't use water, but they use liquids, i.e., other chemicals that don't contain water. It works particularly well in synthetic materials because it removes stains at lower temperatures - higher temperatures may damage these textiles, hence the advantage. Don't ask me how I know this. Ok, I know because I checked on Wikipedia, there.
Now I know and knowing is half the battle
its funny how similar fur suits and leather one pieces are to clean
I loved your washing machine noises at 9:00 😂😂😂
I throw my enduro kit including helmet pads body armour knee guards toolbag and jacket all in the washing machine o a cold wash for 45 minutes covered in mud and it comes out like new and have never noticed any damage from it
The only wash my stuff gets is during summer when I dont wear rain gear
haha I used to be the same
If you want to get the stank out of your boots throw some baking soda in them and let it sit overnight 👍
thx as a new rider this is a lifesaver!
Yes. Thank you for the non-complicated video.
Yep Jake, This is indeed the technique I use when I crap me trousers...
Powerwashing the boots was an instant Sub for me. hahaha
Some timestamps
1:54 Helmet
4:38 suit
7:04 rinse and soak
7:35 dewatering proces
Too lazy to add more stamps
Thanks dude . I had my gear for a month and it freaking stinks
Interesting but hmmm...my motodry stuff says to wash in warm water, no detergent, nothing. Like how the hell do I get oil stains and tar off!
Oooo. Nice Crown glass! I generally wash my helmet pads about the same but I did try putting my jacket without the pads in the wash once and it held up fine. It was still a little stained bc white jacket (terrible choice... hard to keep clean) so imma try the bathtub method next
I had some white gear once...
Great video! What about cleaning and drying some impermeable gloves (goretex, drystar, etc.)?
Hand wash in a sink or bucket. Turn them inside-out and wash again. Rinse outsides and insides thoroughly. Lay flat inside-out to dry insides, then turn outsides-out and lay flat again. Be patient; it will not be a quick process.
Well I guess I’m bringing my stuff to Jake’s house to get cleaned 👀😂
This was enough to make me not want an ADV lol. I don't have a bathtub anyway.
Omg i found a garden snake :)
Can I know your Helmet model please? The one that you washed.
Do an air filter next preferably a foam air filter
squeaky clean gear is always good gear
Do you take the knee pads out of pants? I don’t know how to take them out of my revit sand pants..
amazing video
My wife spotted your wife's Scentsy in the bathroom lol
Theres an easier way to wash your gear... Just go ride in the rain lol... And yes river crossings work as well.
You should just shower or get hosed off while wearing your gear and singing, “ I’m a maniac”... 😂
Hey, I saw your rinse cup... I like Dickeys BBQ Pit too! We have several of those cups 👍🏻
That wouldn't be a bad idea but I stepped into mud knee deep so it was on the inside too
you need a detachable shower head, preferred with a power option
I'll probably switch it to one
My washing machine has variable speed and temperature, so I just run the "tumble" program at maybe 20c with some liquid soap already mixed in with the gear.
....that may or may not include the boots as well :D
I've finally found it.... the video with 0 dislikes
I've been using baby shampoo on the helmet I've heard the detergent will break down the foam but I have not experienced this from myself so I might try the baby detergent
I do pretty much the same without the sink and tub on the porch 👍 \m/😁\m/ WD40 works for "everything"
wd40 is life
what if you don't own a bath but a shower unit?
Could use buckets or a storage container
RHOK!
I just throw my gear in the washing machine and air dry it 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️
Hello, can I make a trailer with a splash screen for you, do you need for the channel? j_j__rw
