Got mine today in a kit. Ridgid hit a home run with this vacuum. Filters and dust bags are readily available. More suction power than the Milwaukee packkout vacuum. That sweeper suction port is really cool. Great video
I have the older style (the first one you showed). It was a complete waste of $. The motor is fine. It blows a lot of air but the compartment doesn’t seal so I get very little suction. It will pick up fine dust but anything with more mass just stays put. I just ordered the NXT one. I’m really hoping it’s much better
I won't use a shop vac without a bag, so it's nice that this one accepts the bags. For my purposes, because the bag will catch so much, I would probably save some money with a the lower end filter if/when it comes time to replace the slightly more expensive blue one. Thankfully since you posted this, the came out with the Pro Gear attachment.
Thanks for the review. I have the old one and it stopped working on me. Definitely going to pick this one up. I also use the big boy 9ah with mine. Like that sweep feature and tool storage.
So do you like the new or older one better? Having a tough time deciding. Mostly will be used for the vehicles and maybe some kitchen spills from time to time
What was Ridgid thinking or not thinking when they didn't design it to fit on their tool box system? I think they will loose a lot of sales not making it work with the their tool box line.
The new one, I run the bags as mentioned, and with the bag the filter doesn’t get clogged resulting in working not as hard and runs longer. Consistent suction for the life of the battery.
This would work for simple tasks, it has the suction for auto detailing simple tasks, but not dog hair and such stuck in carpets. But run time on an 8ah is a good 1-2 hours. I use an 8ah now and it will last almost all week on small clean up tasks around job sites.
Helpful vid. That bottom dust feature is also on the corded vac. Have the older version cordless. I like that its smaller and lighter but the suction tube hanging is inconvenient. The storage on the new vac is good and its advertised as having about 20% more suction and more is always better. Maybe if the BF price is cheap enough...
It’s really 120v power without the cord, I don’t say that because I love it, I truly feel like it has plenty of power! It’s the second thing I grab for every jobsite right after my tool belt.
Greenworks and Metabo HPT only hybrids I have and am aware of-The Metabo HPT allows all of their 36V tools to use the AC adapter-total gamechanger for these high energy use tools
Yes -- I got that figured out later after I had written you. But thank you for the response and your video. I have now purchased that Shop Vac and really like it. -- Thanks again for your response.
@@jackdraper2849 do you have other ridgid tools? I’m a big fan of their line up and affordability! Any tools you’d like to see a video on let me know and I probably have it!
Great job on this review. You set the best example of how a man can teach without using cuss words. Very professionally done. Thank you.
Thank you, swear words have a time and place, but not in teaching or informative videos.

That’s awesome! I’m still loving mine and might grab another just for at home!
Where can we get those dust bags? Does anyone have a link to the proper one for this unit?
I just got one today for $149 less 10% military discount.
What all comes with the"kit"?
@@letmebreakitdown2u1524ah battery and charger, i just got the kit for $129
That sweeping feature is awesome. That would be great for cleaning up the pine litter sawdust in my garage.
It definitely is a nice feature! Thanks for watching!

You and I both. Love the bags

9ah goes along ways with this vac! I’m still impressed and use it daily!
So do you like the new or older one better? Having a tough time deciding. Mostly will be used for the vehicles and maybe some kitchen spills from time to time
Definitely the new one, seems more powerful and just ergonomically better!
There is an adapter for this to attach to the pro-gear boxes now
What was Ridgid thinking or not thinking when they didn't design it to fit on their tool box system? I think they will loose a lot of sales not making it work with the their tool box line.
They really dropped the ball! Bummed me as well!
I am thinking they might want to come out with a larger version of it just for that.
Which works better, meaning which has more suction?
The new one, I run the bags as mentioned, and with the bag the filter doesn’t get clogged resulting in working not as hard and runs longer. Consistent suction for the life of the battery.
What’s the running time on a full charge? I do auto detailing and i want to go cordless, would this be a good choice?, please and thank you.

Hoping for one that works with the Pro Gear boxes soon
We can all hope, but I’m not sure it will ever happen!
Does it have the same turn system to control suction on the hose
Not sure what you’re asking, the video shows it works as a blower and vacuum!
@@Swantek-Enterprises on the old version the hose had a 3/4 ring that would allow you to turn it to increase or decrease suction
@@S1iceoflife no, it’s just more powerful suction now. I am liking it quite well!
@@S1iceoflife no it does not have it, i reverse the video and pause it
How long will it run? I need it for the road won’t be able to charge battery on the road. I have a 8.0 ah
8ah for moderate use would last quite awhile. I would say 4-5 days!

It’s $129 and was well worth that price IMO! I hope you strike a deal on Black Friday!
This should have been a hybrid. 120v or 18v.
It’s really 120v power without the cord, I don’t say that because I love it, I truly feel like it has plenty of power! It’s the second thing I grab for every jobsite right after my tool belt.
If you want a hybrid, look for the one Dewalt has. It runs on both AC and DC current. But the suction is not nearly as strong as the Ridgid
Greenworks and Metabo HPT only hybrids I have and am aware of-The Metabo HPT allows all of their 36V tools to use the AC adapter-total gamechanger for these high energy use tools
What bags do you use
The ridgid bags, I discuss the part number in the video also! They are the 3-4.5 gallon ridgid bags found at Home Depot.
VF 3501
Can you turn the Sweep Feature off ? and just use the hose -- or does the sweep feature stay on at all times ?
The sweep feature is only on when the hose is in the stored position and vacuum on, the hose is what provides the suction for the sweep feature

@@jackdraper2849 do you have other ridgid tools? I’m a big fan of their line up and affordability! Any tools you’d like to see a video on let me know and I probably have it!
It only works when its in the storage position-its the hose that is doing the suction-the area under the vac is just like an attachment
What type of battery did you say that was?
In the video is a 9ah octane battery. No longer available new, but I would suggest the 8ah EXP now.
Can you use the 9 or 8 ah battery will it be okay ?
Any ridgid 18v battery works, I choose the larger batteries for run time.
How long does battery last
A good week for spot clean up, but I would say 30-45 min solid run time
Is it any quieter than the old 3 gallon?
I would say slightly quieter, definitely more powerful!
I would say slightly quieter, definitely more powerful!
Does this one come with a cord?
No cord. It’s battery powered only.
No, there’s a corded version though
When he pulled that black hose out 👀
She loves it
Ridgid says it's Not brushless.
I tried to watch I liked the video but I had to shut it off because the audio was killing me.
My apologies. I should make an updated video
