That green, white and navy mock up actually looks FANTASTIC, let's hope Casio step up the colour options soon. Thank you, your videos and effort you put into their presentation is highly appreciated.
G-Shock will sell a ton of these. Then, after those initial sales, G-Shock will produce one colored exactly like the original DW-5000---and they'll sell a ton more. I'll buy the one that looks exactly like 1983.
Better to buy the 399 apple watch, this price is stupid for a 2 bit style smart watch It's pretty yes, collectible, yes But price for what it is doesn't make sense Meh
You're not taking "passion" into account. We like Casio squares because of nostalgia, not because it's the very best current-day engineering of a fitness device.
Are you ignoring the fact. Those who want gshock want a sturdy watch with long battery plus these are for people who have an active lifestyle. Im not sure you will your apple watch to a football game
A shame your original video was flagged as it was super helpful so happy to see this Extended Cut version up. Super excited for the release if they price it well locally or I'll try and get one from Japan. 👍
I have had GBD-H1000 which was a dissapointment because the heart rate function did not work satisfactory for running when the arms are waving. And I bought it for running... This issue is also reported in a review. I would really like to get this new square with heart rate monitor, but that's of course only if it works better than GBD-H1000.
Let see if they improved on this heart rate monitor. I’ve never used one outside of an Apple Watch but i hear the Polar sensor should have been an improvement. Let’s see.
I’m super excited for this watch. It will replace my Garmin watch for my weekly runs. It will especially be useful when we travel out of town, I won’t have to pack an additional watch just for running.
Well. I've had my DW H5600 for all of 5 days and guess what. The Enter button has stopped working. This button let's you cycle thru fitness modes and also confirms certain operations. So now I have limited functionality on the watch. I'm going to return it for replacement ASAP.
Seems interesting... but... I am often with the expeditions from a couple of days to even a month. I had my first smart watch in 2016 (Samsung Frontier S3) which was fine with up to 3 days of the battery life or a week with power sawing mode, still not enought for a safe use with the fieldwork. I have tried Apple watches but are "a joke"even the new Ultra 1K € one...maybe for urban hipsters. I like g-shocks as are cheap but quality built and no need for babysitting. For a GPS navigation there are dedicated devices, lasting a month with a full use. I am planning a two months throu hike in remote area with not much sun, so the battery life is important, the smart watch type is just a no go. I am back with Seiko Alpinist for secure fieldwork.
35 hours in HR monitor mode is just awful performance, I expect people in Casio fan base have no idea where real fitness watch makers are today. You can't compare a small screen from the 90s with the Apple Watch and say 35 hours is decent.
Swing and a miss. It looks cool sure, but it's $100 more than running watches that have 2 week charge times while maintaining constant heart monitoring AND GPS. This falls into a weird space between G-Shock dumb watch and Garmin/Coros entry level running watch. I don't want to charge my G-Shock. The whole point is that it's zero maintenance. And my running watch needs to be able to...track my runs. My distance, path, elevation etc etc. There's no reason Casio could have made a fully fledged GPS running watch and put it in a Square form factor. That I would've bought. Alternately a dumb watch with atomic time, tough solar with the new display technology at half the price would've been a win. This tries to be all things to all men and wound up being nothing to anyone. Looks very very cute though.
This is a classic case of not swinging with conviction. It feels half hearted but its a good first swing. I’m sure they’ll see this with the comments online. Now lets wait for the sales as this is a major factor in their production plans.
The way I see it, 35 hours isn't bad when you compare it to a mechanical automatic power reserve but a week or 11 months? That's fantastic. I just want a square with a better display.... The fitness stuff is meh, but if they offered a square with MIP and outdoor sensors ala ProTrek or Mudmaster would be fantastic.
@@DesignAtelier guilty! I am primarily a automatic kind of guy but do love me a G-Shock square. Put those features in a square for military and police, and you've got yourself a groundbreaking new square
No offence but I'd rather stick to my blue gbd-200 that also comes with MIP display which is even slighty easier to read than on this one. I gotta admit that it looks very nice but the need for a frequent charging put me completely off.
Can you say what the copyright strike was for? so that we don't make the same mistake as I know it is so easy to do something wrong even though you are trying not to. RUclips just unilaterally take content down and most of the time the creator has no idea why.
I have the idea and RUclips showed which clip and who asked to take it down. It’s a shot of the gold crystallized 40th anniv square. The point was that in fair use, you should be able to take video clip and talk about it. So long as you’re not presenting the content as your own or profiting off of it. However, crediting the owner is not enough. You need to manipulate the video enough with graphics and cutting. Another way is to not use the original sound or voice over. I did all that except the credit part. I could contend that this is miscategorized but the process would give out my info to the compliant and legal action will be initiated. I don’t want to waste my energy on it. With what’s happening in RUclips, people are getting banned lately easily for the smallest of reasons. 98% of the video is from original work that I compiled and for the 2% it’s a copyright issue? I find that is contrary to the percentage system. Point is I think I’m just journalisticly reporting a subject and not presenting it as my content. I wound even choose to cut it out too. But I was never given any chance to do some corrective action. This was all surrendered to the original content creator. The creator ignored all my efforts to reach out too so I’m under the mercy of this biased system.
@@DesignAtelier I really do believe you to be honest. I've never once thought your content comes close to anything negative. Gosh it is a lesson for everyone.
Its a no no for me, if its not tough solar I would not bother, my GBDH1000 been using for more than 2years now, never used the charging cable, as long as you dont use GPS and HR always then you dont need to charge using the cables, solar can power the step counts, time, and bluetooth feature just solar alone, in short if in time mode only then no need charging cables, ... For me I use mostly the step counts then sync to google fit in order for me to sync to other 3rd party apps like stridekick.
Hope they offer a MIP display square 5610 with Solar Tough and Atomic - please hear us Casio! Many dont need a fitness watch at the sacrifice of Tough Solar - never need a new battery. No mark of the bear on my wrist. Great review, Thank You.
Hate to break your heart but I have very little faith that the multiband or atomic receptor will be in the cards for this. It’s already rarely produced how much more included to power hungry module.
With accurate multi band GPS and Strava compatibility this watch it would be a hit, without it will be a failure. With 300 euros you can buy a very decent Suunto, Polar, Amazfit or Garmin sportwatch.
It's genuinely baffling that they can't do better than 1 second resolution on the stop watch. The deal breaker for me will be in the app. If I can't select which notifications from my phone are sent to my watch, I won't be buying this. Previous G Shock watches with Bluetooth notifications were an "all or nothing" opt in. I should be able to select for example, that I want emails and SMS notifications only. I don't need an alert on my wrist for every single social media notification on my phone.
very good content , i am not a "smartwatchiers" enthsiast and maybe the MIP Display could be the way to go on digital watch for me. By the way, what's the music name or producer did you play on background ? , groovy!
My problem with the 5600 family is the display, it just Casio is reselling the same watch with some cosmetic features. Then I think the new "choose one" is the GBD family
@@DesignAtelier I don't actually care about smart watches feature, in fact i have apple watch and i turn all notification feature off because it so annoying, MIP display & solar power in square casing sold me 😆
It’s a good idea and it’s good that Gshock is jumping on the trend BUT this still doesn’t compete with AWU or Garmin. Shame because I would have loved better features. However if your a serious Gshock fan then its worth considering.
I was just thinking I didn’t had enough chargers and batteries to worry about in my life. 11 month battery life if you’re using it as a standard watch ? Are you kidding ? Good luck finding that charger after 11 months ! To me, the best squares are the gw-b5600.
