This was one crazy downhill run... the slippery leaves, the trees, and barely being able to see the trail. I'll never reach those speeds but I want to ride it!
Seth's Bike Hacks seconded bro! I'm watching this with my wife and she's literally terrified Phil's gonna wipe out on a tree! I knew he could shred, but damn
My thougts exactly!Looks pretty damn fast for an action camera footage. The leaves obscuring the path have something to do with it, leaving us guessing where he was going to :)
"gotta make sure my shock is set to extreme mode. Gonna get a bit rowdy through here." Phil, you seem like a fun guy to have a beer with. Cheers man, keep the good videos and good vibes rolling.
i had a hard time deciphering the lane.. man that was fast!! also, i think we can even hear the sound of your heart beating on your gopro at the end of that descent! kudos man.. i aplaud your skills
Please make more POV videos Phil. That was off the handle good. One of my favourite videos of yours. You were absolutely pinning it! I could barely see the trail on the way and I'm sure the next guy won't have that problem after you blew all the leaves away! Insane.
Phil's how to bunny hop video is the one that teaches the most and shows it in detail howto jump high. He is really good at doing and explaining bunny hops
I really grew to like this bike, but it was time for change. Note to my subscribers, go check out Regular Guy Mountain Biking's bike chat videos. A lot feature BKXC, they're really fun to listen to.
So this past year I learned how to wheelie, and got a new bike, when I purchased my new bike, I sold my old one. And I wish I didn't trade it in, because I really want to wheelie that to! RULE: If you can wheelie it, you can buy it
SIR! damn you went fast! i know the gopro doesnt capture the full speed nor deapth of field of the real thing wich blows my mind! you went nut! haha seriously the control and agility you had on that run was inpressive! i salute you and yout skills ! keep that stuff going ! you helped me alot on my way to general bike skills and i thank you! from a friendly Canadien neighbour ! William C.B.
Not sure if you're running the gopro under your shirt but I can hear the heartbeats after those uphills haha. Kinda cool...gives the video an added "depth". It's very noticeable around 6:58.
I'm jealous! U guys in America r Living, mannnn! I live in India; my buddy n I go crazy on our mountain bikes finding our own trails, but, NOTHING as extreme as u guys' trails, wow! How do yawl go down that so fast!!! ...I wonder if America will give me a visa to go visit just to mountain bike with my buddies there ;-) Awesome video! Cheers!
Looks like the bike got a proper send-off That last section i think i would have hit every tree on the way down, it's hard to even make out a line there.
Phil o my gosh you are amazing! The videos you make are awesome! To go down that trail I would probably need 20 lives. What do you do with your old bikes anyway? Well this is why I have subscribed to your channnel!
Damn it's refreshing to see some gopro vids from you! Are you planning on any racing at the Spring Classic at Mt. Creek? I know the pro get won't be there😕
Probably not. I'm actually stepping back from racing full time this season. I want focus on enjoying rides over stressing out about racing and training. But, I want to come ride mountain creek this year at some point!
Skills With Phil Yeah I've never tried racing but it sure seems stressful. I know how it feel as also being a highly competitive swimmer. I hope to see you there!
Skills With Phil That's sick. I need to get up to Beech next summer. I live in Asheville and try to get up Wilson's creek wilderness a couple time a year.
+Fuzzyyojimbo PJ is the assistant coach at our school and a good friend of mine. He used to race in the pro field and knows these trails better than me. He's a ripper for sure
+B1KER yeah it hasn't been maintained in quite some time. These trails don't see regular upkeep like more popular trails but that's what makes them so good.
So, Phil, nice to see the bunny hop master having to actually use his skills to overcome obstacles in a real trail, but wait, wasn't there one that stopped you? What happened? Just kidding, you did the sensible thing and walked over that one. Cheers
Phil, I recently bought a 2016 remedy frame in order to run a non-boost wheelset. Curious about your thoughts regarding the frames geometry. Will run a 160 fork, and hoping the head tube is a little more slack than it appears. Love the vids. Hope you and your family are doing well. Thanks!
Phil what's the plan for the Trek . Sounds like a great idea getting a new bike each year and having some resale value in the old one especially if the old one doesn't need money spending on it!
Holy crap that looked loose. If the Remedy could do this I wonder what the Evil will be capable of. What settings did you use in the gopro for this video? Looks great even without the gimbal. Superview maybe? Cheers!
Hey Phil what trail system are you riding? I live in Asheville and im new to the mtb world but loving it. Mostly riding the bent creek area but i didnt recognize anything you were riding. Love the videos.. keep it up
I am currently riding a 2016 Trek Remedy 9 29er set up as 27.5 plus. I love the bike and get a lot of compliments on it. How did you like the bike and how does it compare to the Evil bike you ride now?
This was one crazy downhill run... the slippery leaves, the trees, and barely being able to see the trail. I'll never reach those speeds but I want to ride it!
This video actually had me holding my breath in anticipation that Phil was going to get smoked by a tree. That was insane, and I loved it!
Seth's Bike Hacks my favorite bike RUclips channel
I had to click stop a few times as I clenched my chair arms. I though I was going to die and I was only watching the video ;)
Seth's Bike Hacks seconded bro! I'm watching this with my wife and she's literally terrified Phil's gonna wipe out on a tree! I knew he could shred, but damn
Get the squad of you, BKXC, and Singletrack Sampler together first!
Is that Phil's heartbeat you can hear in the background? Crazy!
I think this is he first time ever somebody looked fast on a GoPro
Check out TrailPeek, guy's sick!
My thougts exactly!Looks pretty damn fast for an action camera footage. The leaves obscuring the path have something to do with it, leaving us guessing where he was going to :)
I hope he gets better.
holly shit, this guy is really fast as hell O_O
The audio though
"Climbing is so much fun. I'll walk the downhill!"
I can't wait to ride Pisgah this summer. Thanks for the tour Phil.
This was so sick man!! I really enjoy and having fun just watching it!! I can't wait the first ride you gonna give the evil. Wooooaaaa!!!
"gotta make sure my shock is set to extreme mode. Gonna get a bit rowdy through here." Phil, you seem like a fun guy to have a beer with. Cheers man, keep the good videos and good vibes rolling.
That is one of the best bike cam videos ever!! You are an awesome rider man!!!!
i had a hard time deciphering the lane.. man that was fast!! also, i think we can even hear the sound of your heart beating on your gopro at the end of that descent! kudos man.. i aplaud your skills
Please make more POV videos Phil. That was off the handle good. One of my favourite videos of yours. You were absolutely pinning it! I could barely see the trail on the way and I'm sure the next guy won't have that problem after you blew all the leaves away! Insane.
Siiick!!!! Fast, flowy and gnarly!! Shredin it brotha!!!
What an awesome video man. Good send off for the remedy. Great bike my buddy has one but the evil is def a step up also.
Dude, Im so looking forward to the EVIL UPRISING coming soon to your channel!!!!
5:59 OMG that bunny hop
I've rewind it at least 15 times and watched even in slow mo.
Andreas Goehring I'm 2 minutes in freaking out at what this bike can do and I can't believe 10 minutes are left.....here's to 559
not what the bike can do, what Phil can do...
Phil's how to bunny hop video is the one that teaches the most and shows it in detail howto jump high. He is really good at doing and explaining bunny hops
Man you are fast through that stuff, mad skillz phil! The pisgah national forest is so beautiful!
bunny hop over the fallen tree is the best bit
that made my day
Awesome footage on those descents! Pretty sure I can hear your heart rate coming through the mic on those climbs. Thanks.
It was actually nice seeing a none stabilized video. You can tell more of the speed that's occurring.. Good stuff Phil
I couldn't even tell if you were on the trail or making your own half the time. Fun to watch!!! Guess I have to put this place on my list.
Oh my, I wish i had this kind of trails down here.... BTW such an awesompe last ride with the remedy :D
8:14...Oh theres a trail there? Jesus, the leaves are making me nervous lol. The last few minutes of this video are insane, you're a real daredevil!
Skills With Phil, I am in NC too! teach me your ways. You should do a series about taking a newb (me) and turning him into a gnarly MTB rider.
your heart was just pounding the whole time!!! wow!
Bloody Hell, Phil! You smashed that trail to bits! Amazing riding!
I don't ride like that, more into flowier trails, but I do enjoy watching these types of videos and that was one sick ride. Thanks!
You're the best to watch Phil!
I feel you about it being winter time. I haven't been able to ride at all, here in Michigan.
Love watching your vids as well as riding tips. Geeez you guys are fast in some spots on this video, scary fast.
Great ride. I'd love to see more vidoes like this! (maybe with a gimbal?) Enjoy the new bike, it looks sick!
Tough to let bikes go sometimes :-(
I really grew to like this bike, but it was time for change.
RULE: If you can wheelie it, you can buy it
Skills With Phil Sick lines Phil! Wish I could hit some trails like that around Pa!
That's why I never sell bikes. I only add to my collection.
Nice ;-)
SIR! damn you went fast! i know the gopro doesnt capture the full speed nor deapth of field of the real thing wich blows my mind! you went nut! haha seriously the control and agility you had on that run was inpressive! i salute you and yout skills ! keep that stuff going !
you helped me alot on my way to general bike skills and i thank you!
from a friendly Canadien neighbour !
William C.B.
That ride seemed like an absolute blast! That sinkhole was sketchy as hell!
Phil! also love watching you ride! beast mode was in full effect.
Man i love how you always go full out on the downhill no matter what.
I like the money saving idea of never letting your wheels touch the ground. great thinking
This level of riding is what I would love to do one day!
Whoever ends up with that bike will have a real Gem. That thing is a looker and seems to be able to handle anything.
You are insanely talented. I've couldn't ride that trail at half that speed.
I love how your riding is on the edge of death all the time
Next video: Glowing 1000 degree KNIFE vs Trek Remedy
LOL!!
Dude, that was some proper gnar you were shreddin
Hah, thank you Jay!
By the way usually wind is annoying in videos but it was fitting, do to the fact you were rocketing down that trail like a freaken NASA rocket!!!
Not sure if you're running the gopro under your shirt but I can hear the heartbeats after those uphills haha. Kinda cool...gives the video an added "depth". It's very noticeable around 6:58.
you definitely should do more videos like this
I will consider it :)
If you have on headphones you can hear his heartbeat at times. I feel so close to you right now Phil.
Most intense GoPro footage I've seen. Idk why but this looked more intense than rampage lmao
Cheers!
That's awesome, great filming too.
Trek Remedy for sale, Lightly used, one owner.... :P
Looks like the bike got a proper send-off
That last section i think i would have hit every tree on the way down, it's hard to even make out a line there.
Some sick trails & riding dudes. Respect
Your heart was pounding in the GoPro
This video is so sick! Makes me so motivated to ride more!!
Some awesome riding there buddy, skills!
OH.MY.GOD. That right there is the dictionary definition of shredding folks.
god that thing is so beautiful. And boy are you talented on it.
This one looks crazy fast!
looks so fast!! Awesome ride!
If you put headphones on you can hear Phils heartbeat very clearly at the end
Phil o my gosh you are amazing! The videos you make are awesome! To go down that trail I would probably need 20 lives. What do you do with your old bikes anyway? Well this is why I have subscribed to your channnel!
Holy shit you are such a good rider.
Love these videos!
Wow that was gnarly! You could barely see the trail sometimes. How much better do you like your Calling than that Remedy?
Love the rocky bit. Leafy bit is freaky; how do you know where to go?!
Heyyyyy, look who it is!
Skills With Phil Yeah I've never tried racing but it sure seems stressful. I know how it feel as also being a highly competitive swimmer. I hope to see you there!
Sinkhole! glad you got out to Wilson's creek area. that is some of the best stuff in WNC! Which trails did you ride out there? Awesome video!!
+Biking WNC I'm only 20-30 mins away, I go to school at Lees McRae :)
Skills With Phil That's sick. I need to get up to Beech next summer. I live in Asheville and try to get up Wilson's creek wilderness a couple time a year.
First!!! Primero! Say hola Phil! Grettings from Tabasco, México.
Greetings Manny!
Sick! That looked so sketchy, I would have died like nine times.
You can literally hear his heartbeat
Dude you were levitating above the trail the entire time hahaha
I can hear your heartbeat
Strange to see someone staying ahead of you on a descent. Fast folks! Sorry to see the Trek go.
+Fuzzyyojimbo PJ is the assistant coach at our school and a good friend of mine. He used to race in the pro field and knows these trails better than me. He's a ripper for sure
Could hear your heartbeat almost the whole time haha
Crazy how you can hear your heart beat at 4:40 !
DAAMN|| You jump everything!! I'll definetely try it ;)
haha, it's more fun that way.
no doubt about it ;) Amazing riding
More like the forest moon of Endor! That was insanely fast.
There was a good portion of that trail that just looked super difficult to tell where the trail was.
Cheers
cant believe how fast you are going down trials when you cant even see the trial through the trees
Agree and also what is under under those leaves! Omg you're a bit crazy probably I would crash over 20 times or more going like this.
Indeed a good way to say goodbye to a bike. I wish I could have the bike tho. Goodbye Remedy !
I would have crashed about a thousand times. Great video man!
What an awesome place! \m/
Those downhill sections were sick... :)
So much fun, the are moto trails so you can pin it wide open. Super super fun.
Mad skills. Mad, I tells ya'!
Holy shit Phil you were shredding.
I clenched my cheeks a few times during this video... and I'm just watching it!
Phil, I recently bought a 2016 remedy frame in order to run a non-boost wheelset. Curious about your thoughts regarding the frames geometry. Will run a 160 fork, and hoping the head tube is a little more slack than it appears.

"Climbing is so much fun, I´ll walk the downhill". I laughed hard :D
I wanna be like Phil.
Holy crap that looked loose. If the Remedy could do this I wonder what the Evil will be capable of.
What settings did you use in the gopro for this video? Looks great even without the gimbal. Superview maybe?
Cheers!
we have a local trail called "mad cow" .i'll let you guess why lol and a another trail called "lazy cow" haha
Incredible skills.. I'd have lost all my lives on that ride.
That looks fun.
Is that your heartbeat we can hear at 3:45?! I can't think of it being anything else. Weird hearing that!
Nice video! I think I will name this camera angle "the nutshot"
