Another great inspirational video. Particularly loved seeing the lady's dog on the trailer and the lightweight fishing tackle. Tough ride but you all looked like you were having fun.
Hey Russ! My father in law and I used that same technique where you walk/ride the outside of a curve/switchback to save energy when we climbed up to the M in Bozeman. It works!
Your noisy sleeping pad can be fixed a couple of ways. You can slide a sleeping bag liner over the pad and that will make it more comfortable with a quilt and quieter. You might also consider a Nemo Tensor. Comfy and quiet pad. Good luck!
Russ look like you didn't suffer too much considering your comment on less than ideal millage in the saddle!! That overland look like a fantastic event!! It was a lot of fun to watch!!
What a great event again, I enjoyed last years, I didn't get wet watching the video :-) but this years route, weather and scenery was stunning and it had a dog, what more could you want in a video?
Very inspiring, Russ. Beautiful country, people, ride... and sweet video. Just got back from a regular camping trip and it was hard enough to get pictures, let alone all this awesome video. Thanks.
Another Great Video Russ !! It's always fun to watch what other riders are having fun doing. I hope to get my fitness up over the next year and maybe I'll get out West to ride the Overlander!
Hi Russ, so much fun with so much support,Just looking at the the gear so many of you are wearing and would think that Patagonia is a major sponsor, enjoy
Loved how comprehensive he vids were, but also hate the premiere feature. Have been witness to other channels trying and thankfully pulling that bit. Great work Russ.
Won’t do it for every video but will for vids over 15 mins. Lots left out in the edit and it’s a fun way to offer directors cut commentary in the chat.
Great video. I wish I could do that run Sometime. Greeting from Southern California. Thanks for your videos my man. They really make me want to get out there.
Loving your channel and seeing these cool experiences. I'm an artist and just been getting into cycling the past couple years to commute to work. Still have a long way to go building up my fitness but I would love to try this kind of stuff someday.
i did 30 miles today and was gassed...this is impressive...thanks for the motivation... how do you get over that mental challenge of wanting to quit?? or do you even have that problem?!
Looks like a really great ride and excellent support crew. I am getting ready to ride the Oregon Outback route. I need to buy bike packing bags or I can borrow a high quality, singe-wheel trailer with affixed dry bag. What do you think about a single wheel trailer on a gravel route? Please let me know if you have experience with one? Thanks and nice video!
I would LOVE to try this ride...I have to say watching the video from the last time you did this ride, compared to this year...you seem to have had an easier time. Im sure the weather helped...you must be in better riding shape.
Fantastic video. Road bike guy getting into country rides. I have $3000, but would love to NOT spend it all, what bike do you recommend? I want to ride 50% touring and 50% gravel.
I really enjoyed your coverage of the Overlander - made me regret not being there. I'm starting the savings account for registration for next year. I'd love to see an informal write-up or episode on what you observed as more and less successful equipment choices among the riders, especially what tires seemed to excel on this route and what was either insufficient or overkill. Also the same for bike choices. And commentary on assorted packing styles. it seems like with a bunch of riders doing this four day mixedroute you would have a lot of data to review, even if anecdotal. Also, is it possible to access the live feed comment stream, or does it disappear after the feed is over?
Great journey share. Nice to see the different bikes and kit. I liked the bar set up on the red bike 24 mins in. And your glasses mirror. I need one of those. Where’d you get yours?
Great video Russ! Stuff like this really brings everything about your channel together. I want to go so bad next year, but it falls right in with the beginning of the school year so i'll have to wait....or drop out...
Russ! I saw you eyeing up those waders. I make a lot of my own gear for backpacking and bikepacking. I think it would be really doable to make a copy of his waders. If you are interested, I could probably make a pair for you. Let me know!
Does the girl riding with her dog have a you tube channel? I have questions for her... and I want to see more video of those two😂aND technically I think they count as a tandem 😅
loved this and am impressed you could climb and narrate so well. really looks like a fun way to bike pack. bucket list item! but Emma and her bike chauffer stole the show and hearts - that was some feat pedaling all that way pup in tow. question - of all the bikes in this event, and considering you did it on both Cutthroat and Warbird, what would you say was the ideal bike for this route (rain or shine)??
This looks brutal but absolutely rewarding. Any idea how long ago the burn happened at 7:00? Looks like some of the pine growth has come back strong even though there are still so many upright burned trunks.
I found the range of bikes and handlebar styles interesting. Was there a downside to flat bars? They seemed to come in towards the end of the "pace line."
Awesome video Russ ! I'm in Brazil and enjoy so much your videos and the way you shoot them. This Ochoco Overlander is indeed quite a nice ride ! Congrats ! btw what is the bike you use ? can you provide details of it, web link etc? thank you !
Another great video, Russ. Looks like an awesome event with great camaraderie between the participants. Quick question, how do you keep your wahoo and gopro charged for these multi day rides?
How are you able to measure the grade of the road you’re on? Is it in real time, or is it from a route preloaded somehow into a device/app? I’m a noob in this regard!
Fishing waders in video - ruclips.net/video/znCFhhhlqsw/видео.html Ultralight waders might be an older version of these - www.wiggys.com/clothing-outerwear/lightweight-waders/
Ruuuuuuss! You ALMOST owe me a Roku! I might have threatened to throw it out the window!! Just finished part 1 after it was rudely interrupted at work yesterday, and click on part 2. Then it seems my Roku locked up, it's stuck on the opening screen. After some cussing, yanking the power cord out for a quick reset, I might have noticed the little text saying, "Premieres in 32 hours - September 29, 6:15 PM" YOU TEASE! ;-)
Your under-pants....are they tights/bibs or just tights? I've been encouraged to try bibs. Buuutttt....I have a "Gut" and the bibs seem....non flattering for the gutted folks. :-0
Okay gotta make a comment here...this more about social cycling which is great and eating and being catered to, it is more like a sport for older people to get out or those less inclined to exercise with minimal exertion. Still great if I want to be pampered and I'm sure being pampered is a great feeling.
The girl with the dog on (& off) the trailer, very inspiring to see. Looks like they had a great adventure together, loved it!
This looked so much fun! All kinds of people on all kinds of bikes - such a laid back atmosphere..
Awsome awsome video! So sad to see it end. I could smell the smells and feel the closeness of the bikers.
Nice film Russ, loved the footage of Emma the dog and her owner!
This Ochoco Overlander series is some of your best videos, Russ.
Great follow-up to Part 1 Russ! Quite a ride! Much respect to everyone who finished!
this is exactly the kind of event i'm looking for. Ride and nature.
Another great inspirational video. Particularly loved seeing the lady's dog on the trailer and the lightweight fishing tackle. Tough ride but you all looked like you were having fun.
Nice work on this one! The event looks amazing as well, it's definitely on my bucket list.
Jaw dropping views. The video is so clean and uncluttered and I like your relaxed style. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to more.
Hey Russ! My father in law and I used that same technique where you walk/ride the outside of a curve/switchback to save energy when we climbed up to the M in Bozeman. It works!
Thank you. I enjoyed the ride with you. Excellent video.👍👍👍
Good job Russ.. It's really nice to see a great bunch of people enjoying riding there bikes.Keep up the great work guys
An excellent video of a spectacular adventure! Thanks!! But, it looks really hard!!
Heck yeah Russ. Fun to see you on some great roads we've ridden together. The Ochocos are magical.
A wonderful video Russ. Cant wait for more. Best wishes and happy pedalling 🙏
What epic views and glad the new bike came through for you. Thanks for the videos and safe cycling, Al
Your noisy sleeping pad can be fixed a couple of ways. You can slide a sleeping bag liner over the pad and that will make it more comfortable with a quilt and quieter. You might also consider a Nemo Tensor. Comfy and quiet pad. Good luck!
Wow..I want to join in on the next one (long way from Aus). Wish there was something like that in Australia/New Zealand. Just a fantastic video.
Look up Tasmanian Trail.
475km, +8000m elevation gain. And organise a group.
It's awesome ☺
Awesome you smashed it this year.
What a fantastic film 👍🏼

Thanks for the great video Russ. I will definitely need to add it to my bucket list for once I get back into the northwest.
Great film. Love that dog trailer. Makes me want to get a dog so we can go packing together and I don’t even bikepack.
It’s the PNW uniform.
Patagonia clothes work, that's why people wear them.
That was a really nice bike ride! Thanks for sharing. :-)
That was a really great series! Thanks so much for the inspiration.
Different music than usual really lifted it up..!
Two words........Bloody Fantastic!!!.........Keep em coming "Paths Less Pedaled"
Brilliant vlog as usual, loving the dog/trailer combo, do the same thing with my two over here in the new forest UK. Atb
In the lead up to this trip you seemed to regret getting involved, but you ended on a high note. I'm glad the 2019 ride changed your feeling about it!
This was an awesome series to follow. Thanks for the great content, Russ.
Thanks for working so hard on these videos Russ! I know first hand what it takes and your videos are so much better than mine! Taking notes lol
Loved how comprehensive he vids were, but also hate the premiere feature. Have been witness to other channels trying and thankfully pulling that bit. Great work Russ.

Great job Russ, I enjoyed watching this one very much. Keep up the great work✌😄👍🚲
Thanks for sharing Russ. Me and my Elephant are gonna try to make it next year.
The more I get into biking , I wish I had events like this in my local area. Mostly running stuff. All those areas reminded me of b.c. too.
Anyone else get the epic irony of this amazing bikepacking trip being interrupted by Zwift ads? 🤣
Great video. I wish I could do that run Sometime. Greeting from Southern California. Thanks for your videos my man. They really make me want to get out there.
I like the fishing settup
Loving your channel and seeing these cool experiences. I'm an artist and just been getting into cycling the past couple years to commute to work. Still have a long way to go building up my fitness but I would love to try this kind of stuff someday.
Lovely video take care .
i did 30 miles today and was gassed...this is impressive...thanks for the motivation...
how do you get over that mental challenge of wanting to quit?? or do you even have that problem?!
Can everyone on the ride make all those climbs? You guys are great athletes.
Thanks for the great videos

Route was shorter than last year. Also was burning less calories trying to keep warm.
Fantastic video. Road bike guy getting into country rides. I have $3000, but would love to NOT spend it all, what bike do you recommend? I want to ride 50% touring and 50% gravel.

Cool. Planning to do a wrap up video about gear. I’ve been embedding the livestream comments on the vid itself so should be able to see them.
... man i hate the Premier feature - Got all excited to watch this annnnd premier.
Join us in the chat. It’s super fun.

Great video Russ! Stuff like this really brings everything about your channel together. I want to go so bad next year, but it falls right in with the beginning of the school year so i'll have to wait....or drop out...
It's beautiful out there.
Russ! I saw you eyeing up those waders. I make a lot of my own gear for backpacking and bikepacking. I think it would be really doable to make a copy of his waders. If you are interested, I could probably make a pair for you. Let me know!
Great video Russ, makes me want to move out to the States just to join in.
Does the girl riding with her dog have a you tube channel? I have questions for her... and I want to see more video of those two😂aND technically I think they count as a tandem 😅
I see a Trek 1120 too. Nice bikes!
Hootie and the Blowfish 😁👍
are you going to discuss the gear you used? the pros and cons? those bags look killer but possibly a support for the front bag
Yes. Wrap up vid planned.
Awesome, interested to hear about those tyres and bags. 😀
Love love love it! 😍😍😍
Excellent job! I truly enjoyed both these vids. Would love to join next years, just need permission from the Mrs!
Worth it!
@@PathLessPedaledTV Do you know when they will be opening registration for 2020?
Just registered for 2020! Loads of training to do, as I'm over 300lbs right now.
Can you add to your videos the temperatures when you start? i saw that one guy with a down jacket and shorts and sandals?
loved this and am impressed you could climb and narrate so well. really looks like a fun way to bike pack. bucket list item! but Emma and her bike chauffer stole the show and hearts - that was some feat pedaling all that way pup in tow.

Just curious... at Walton Lake, were you guys in the larger of the two group campspots? and was that the private parking for it??
I found the range of bikes and handlebar styles interesting. Was there a downside to flat bars? They seemed to come in towards the end of the "pace line."
Aerodynamics.
The ultralight fisherman you spoke to is my inspiration of the day. How clever is his rig?!
Super clever. He use to own the company Gossamer Gear!
No mudguards!?
My favorite rider is Emma!
I recognized some of the people here from another youtubers page. Was the dude with the grey beard and blue bike helmet wearing sandals?
Awesome video Russ ! I'm in Brazil and enjoy so much your videos and the way you shoot them. This Ochoco Overlander is indeed quite a nice ride ! Congrats ! btw what is the bike you use ? can you provide details of it, web link etc? thank you !
Bearclaw Beaux Jaxon. Just posted a review.
Another great video, Russ.
Looks like an awesome event with great camaraderie between the participants.
Quick question, how do you keep your wahoo and gopro charged for these multi day rides?
I was wondering the same thing.
Had a big 28,000 mah battery.
Nice man eating bread and jam.
What was your shelter settup?
Great Job.... Looks amazing scenery and a great bunch of people! Have you signed up for 2020?
They haven’t released registration yet but planning on it.
Look forward to watching it already!
How are you able to measure the grade of the road you’re on? Is it in real time, or is it from a route preloaded somehow into a device/app? I’m a noob in this regard!
Computer shows grades.
@@PathLessPedaledTV Thanks! Which computer do you use, and do you recommend it? :)
You filmed this one with the gopro hero 5? Doesn't look like it. Looks real clean. Perhaps, mirrorless?
Sony action cam.
I think those waders are from Wiggys (CO)
Similar. Not the same. Mike's are much lighter than the Wiggys and don't have a rubber sole and aren't designed to go over a shoe.

Anyone here have packraft experience,.I have been looking at the kokopelli rogue and the alpacka classic
anyone know what trailer she was using for her dog?
I'd like to do this in 2021.
What bike did you use for the trip pls?
Is the supple life really about so many numbers?
Its a way to track progress and communicate the difficulty of the ride.
