Thank you Joe Hawk for sponsoring me when I came back to the rooms in 2003 rest in peace and thank you Mark Houston for continuing to help me until you died
Hi Paul, glad you found us. These are from a podcast hosted on Podbean, and that platform gives option to share on youtube. Even though the recordings are here, the administration is done through Podbean. I hope you continue to enjoy what is posted!
The majority never likes the truth because only the completely broken and desperate are willing to do a lifetime of work to recover, as Bill W clearly & thoroughly wrote out on step 1 in the 12 x 12. This is life saving material, sometimes I’m saddened by the unwillingness of the sick and suffering of my own friends and family, knowing only their complete defeat will organically bring it about.
In this talk; he said the message of AA is no longer popular in AA... I thought he was going to actually say what the message is, but he moved on... anybody here have additional clarity on: what is the actual message of AA?
He meant that people are not in the book where the program is. It's everyone's "idea" of how to do it. People who aren't real alcoholics are sponsoring real alcoholics and getting them killed because they can't have the experience. The message of AA is clear in the book. It's to teach others how we have recovered from a hopeless state of mind and body. @jimmyramos3364 is right. But I'd start at the preface and read through the first story in the back of the book, "Dr. Bob's Nightmare." That's the message. All of that. How to recover...
