I like the path of consideration. Also, it seems the danger of the ego reconstruction is something that can happen suddenly if we are not watching. Even when we're experiencing a lot of freedom and growth as a result of doing the work.
I agree about consideration. When I heard this it made me realize how quick I want to have the answer, but sitting with the question can have it's own rewards.

Well, Joe, the world didn't end as AA evolved to zoom meeting across the land and I'm sure you would not have blown your head off if you could not have gotten to your home group and looked another alcoholic in the eye. So much for keeping an open mind and having a new experience.
I like to think he may find that position amusing, online meetings using corporate video conferencing software hobbled together under a state of panic and emergency have revolutionized Alcoholics Anonymous, perhaps as much as the printing of the big book in 1939 did. Who knows? I am no longer limited to the knowledge/experience/myths and human frailties of the fellowship of the place I happen to live. I can go anywhere in the world and find the fellowship I crave ❤

No. God ended for some in AA. The spiritual Giants became humbled to spiritual infants.
