Every time you show this off I think it would be incredible to have a map editor for a game like this so you could set up a game for a real major city and your own towns and see how it pans out. Would be an interesting take for a zombie survival game IMO
@@Bancheis Ah, I will have to look around YT and try to find a video on it. I don’t have a PC sadly to play these games - thank you for letting me know tho
what do you mean a real major city? The cities in the game are based on real locations - it's kinda the big deal about the title. You can literally play in your real home town. Although granted it gets a few things wrong it's pretty great tech
Manila, Philippines has a walled city called Intramuros, it's basically a massive fort with a small city inside. I wonder if that will work as a location to try.
Saw this video pop up on my feed. The fact that the devs have created a game that can simulate real-life areas is mind-blowing. Gaming has definitely advanced.
Haven't watched whole video, so he may figure it out later but you arm an already existing squad (or put items in their inventory in general) by clicking the "Exchange" button while they are in/at a warehouse. Additionally, you can hold Shift + click on buildings to queue up buildings to be searched. They will search the buildings in order, taking supplies back whenever they are full and returning to searching buildings afterwards. This applies to a squad with a vehicle as well, they will return to the vehicle to drop off supplies at it (instead of a warehouse) and then return to the warehouse when the vehicle and the squad is full. [Edit: He mentioned this later and that he didn't like it because of running into zombies, but zombies aren't outside unless it's night or storming.]
Don't know how accurate the game will make it but, next chance you get, try ft Monroe, va. Its decommissioned now i think. Used to live there as a kid. Was once the Tradoc command hq. It's an island thats connected by bridge & has a decent sized civil war era fortification with a moat. Decent space too. Used to have gun batteries all around it until after ww2. also used to have howitzers they would shoot off daily at the end of the day. House would shake. Had the casemate museum which had a mini jail that once held jefferrson davis. cool place & would be well fortified for a zombie apocalypse. Bridge leads to phoebus, a small town. Ft. wool I think its called is not far from it either. Another island with a decom base.
There is a guy on RUclips who has used it and I've used it. It's a good place to start. It's not perfect the walls go down way easier than the real walls of a fort would. It also creates kind of a very spread out area to defend especially when you put in higher amounts of infected. I currently have a game running and I'm trying to figure out if it's easier to defend a small peninsula. A thing to keep in mind since I've played around on this on a few locations is that the movement speed of the people on foot is way slower to scale than what it should be. I set this up on my alma mater's campus once and the squads would take 2 to 3 in game hours to walk distances that I know in real life took me 10 minutes to walk.
i love how hes going with it so far the tree regrowth is real helpful only thing i have seen that caps a settlement is metal after awhile u just have nothing left now one thing i wish he change is alot of parking lots just look like roads but still new so.......
I gave this suggestion to the Dev team litterally as this is where i live... St. Augustine is the oldest city in america and you can defend it via bridge
For large building like the fort I think it'd make sense if you could have it be several things at once like one side be a living space, a warehouse, etc. To balance it out it would provide smaller amounts of living space or storage.
Its pretty vanilla but Id try to survive in my own neighborhood. Theirs especially this one apartment buidling a few blocks from our house with a flat rooftop and a grocery story literally across it. Prime lot for zombie apocalypse survivaling
Ft DeSoto is a cool place. Pretty haunted from what I hear. Oldest town in the county. I think the gators would be good allies against zombies though lol
Lol I've given extensive thought to this, don't ask me why. If there was a zombie outbreak, first I'd hit up my local gun store, get everything I can, then a pharmacy and get basically all of the medication I can, then go out to a farm on the outskirts of my town. Fortify the barn and a loft area so I'd have somewhere to go if zombies came. And from there I'd just fortify as much as possible lol
Oldest city in america! the city got burnt to the ground twice by English privateers, one of them being sir francis drake. The spanish got pissed and made fort castillo de san marcos
What about like little trade camps that you could meet up with? And if you get a good affinity, they join you or something, or if you make them upset, they can attack you.
Does infected still move on water or has it been fixed now? I stopped playing because it was the core thing that I expected from this type of game to have
I thought that with the right research, you can actually build own houses. Wasn't that part of one of the last few updates? Think i do remember reading something about that before.
I'm from this area I can tell you there should be lots of guns in every house. we don't play down here. zombies would never take Florida in the first place lol 🤣..... unless the gators became infected... ooo shizzzz 🥵😰😱....
I only played the demo but the gameplay wasn't that great IMO. Having maps of the whole world so you can play wherever you want is cool. Building bases is cool, but the actual in game base building is bad. Resources are very scarce, you need exponentially more ammo every day, and it gets exponentially harder to find. The defensive walls/towers are a waste of time because they mean half your shit is stuck defending a small portion of your base while the zombies destroy the rest. That was only a demo and the game looks like it is intended to have a lot more content to it, but it's very concerning that the small amount of gameplay they've released so far just isn't that great.
i dont know if it just me that havent figured out how to balance the food in the game but am i the only who feel llike you are running out of food to quickly
A kindergarten and a bar can be built? That’ll definitely help with morale.
Kindergarten is a little wonky right now, I needed 35 teachers for 50 kids but the bar is definitely really awesome.
I just finished searching every building on the Cambridge map and it didn't unlock the kindergarten...
@@miketogwell1000 you don't need to unlock it, its always unlocked like the bar in the very bottom tab.
As long as the bar isn't within 500 feet from a school 💀💀😂
@@milkshake9394 nope the kindergarten is greyed out, and says scavenge map to unlock
So glad youre keeping this one on your radar... i think this game is a really good strategy game and the devs do seem to be hard working 😊

They do have a map editor. If you pick a place that says "unplayable" it prompts you to open a map editor to fix it.

It'd be awesome to be able to make scrap tanks or howitzers to level large swaths of infected

I vote for a forbidden city build in China 😊
@bazamere to many small buildings. Iv tried and the pathing is horrible
Raptor: We need a defensible location
Raptor: naturally picks a Starfort from the 1600's
Glad to see this great game getting some visibility. Good job. These small games need it.
Born Jacksonville lived in FL most of my life. I've been to St. Augustine and toured the fort several times. The level of detail is pretty insane.
I hope to see squads collecting basic materials at night time. and that squad will only have melee. doing this would make a good refill of resources.
I found Brisbane, AUS to be a great starting city. Long growing season, lots of museums, plenty of trees.
I picked the Alamo in my most recent play through. I'm loving the updates
Interesting game 👍

I am really enjoying this game. Went to my hometown and created an area on my street, imagining it was 2004 again…

Better zombies and human factions like walking dead 😮😮
i tried to build a safe zone in my country Singapore... man it was hard to survive or have a wall built
The game looks awesome ngl just found out about it so excited
I got it it's not bad, got A LOT of potential to be epic.
Oldest city in america! the city got burnt to the ground twice by English privateers, one of them being sir francis drake. The spanish got pissed and made fort castillo de san marcos
I'm curious how something like a base would work. Not in the middle of nowhere but one of the ones surrounded by a town/city
awesome. thanks

@Raptor Please make content in the Philippines. thank you!!!

I would like there to be the option to improve existing walls.
instead of having to destroy the ones already built to put new ones
Select anywhere in Australia, Although I feel like it should be a harder difficulty and have giant spider zombies there too
Did they increase number of squad or limited at 6 team as before!?!? What an idiot thing that we need to defense hordes with only 6 squads😅
They should fix the terrain elevation, like mountains and hills or the quarry.
Do they let you build traps or pits that would be cool a stake pit for them too fall into
I thought that with the right research, you can actually build own houses. Wasn't that part of one of the last few updates? Think i do remember reading something about that before.
House had better capacity than shelter but they cost more to convert (wood and brick). No building system yet.
Netherlands mentioned, GEKOLONISEERD 🇳🇱
Question: With such a large HQ, how do you defend the angles that zombie groups come in and attack u from sometimes?
Should be able to mass produce trees through tree nurseries
finding a bat and naming it lucille
Yo, St Augustine is my hometown and lived a few blocks from that fort (Mantanzas).
I want to see the zombies be more realistic....
More dawan of the dead.
And graphics.
this hame is hard man
I would want to start near a military base.
What I feel is missing, is some dialog options to decision
Honestly the fact you haven’t stopped talking is killing me 32:17
TRY TO PLAY IN Trakai island castle
Game needs an auto explore feature. Gets tedious after a few hours to micromanage the squads
I am going to have to replace my PC i do miss these types of games at time.
Wish water was an actual obstacle

If it was multiplayer or at very least a Co-op. I would but It looks like it never will be. Not for me or my friends but I wish them luck
Start at Petra? :)
do i have to start a new game to experience the update?

Try and take over Disney world in Orlando
Or you should be able to use tree's for defense
Sadly I got no money and can't get the official one. Can only play the prologue.
haha totaly skipped to the monment you told me off my bad
COORDNITE!!
Its getting there, but still alot of basic gameplay problems.
Still feels like it did at launch, as a techdemo first and an actual game second...

this would be awesome in a frostpunk setting
I appreciate your videos but could you get into the gameplay a bit faster? 🙏
Hi do you know why my HQ is already chosen when i start the game?
Hm weird I could have sworn I was sub to raptor but apparently I'm not. I'm going to go and fix that now

a lot of talking, this is my first view of the game, would have been nice to see a bunch of different views of different rendered terrains...
