Running is such a primitive emotion in unison with all senses. Trail running simply unlocks the door that modern society has locked. The passion for the lifestyle is immeasurable in this video.
Gotta love it!!!!! Seeing this older brother, at the top of a tree, swinging back a forth!! ha ha! Still a child at heart! I love his focus on the simplicity of it all.... AMEN!!!
"Deep down, we're all still runners" I've been running for 5 years this year, I never thought I'd say that. It provides me with so much, it might have even saved my life. I will always be a runner.
Haha, I actually forgot that I'd commented on this. Just came back to watch again because its one of my favourites. Coming up to 7 years this year and still going...
This guy. When someone can put words so eloquently, yet succinctly, to one of my greatest passions, I'm imbued with the most acute sense of "un-alone-ness". 2:26, this guy, he gets it.
I want that feeling back, that feeling that he can’t even describe. So this morning I’m up early at 5am to beat the Australian heat for my first run in over six months, here goes 👌
Wow. I think Bernd is trying to put something into words that just can't be explained. We see so many wondrous things when we are out on these trail runs and somehow we become a part of this beauty. It brings me to tears too. For me I become sad when I think that the time is coming, as I get older, when I won't be a part of it any longer. Maybe when my body won't allow me to run I will hike these trails but there is a time coming that will make me sad. Maybe thats what Bernd is feeling when he gets so emotional. Great video.
i never comment on videos, but!, this is excellent!!! a man that can find so much joy in something that brings him to tears when he talks about it... simply passionate.
Thank you fro introducing me to Bernd Heinrich. He definitely made me think why i run why i enjoy it. It makes me see places a pace where i can genuinely enjoy and at the same time not be bored by the slowness.
That what makes me move im 15 and love running so much I dream of places like that where I'm not held back by city limits and where I can enjoy nature at its simplest
I see..... im not alone :) As Jan Knippenberg (Hoek van Holland to Stockholm, 1600km in 18 days, 1974 and a lote more) said: Im a runner not a racer! Great video
Love it, love it, love it!!! As a Mainland Chinese, thrilled to know Salomon is now owned by Anta of China #MadeInChina2025 #BeltAndRoad #BeijingOlympics2022 #OccupyMars2024
I was wondering while China excels in the Olympics why are they are so bad at football (soccer). I know that the government spends millions but the woman's team only managed 1 draw and 2 losses while the men didn't qualify.

Love the last line..."Ideally you'd like to be a bird but running is a close 2nd"
:)

Three years for me. Same same. I'll never stop as long as I am able.
51 years here. Will run as long as the body holds up. Approaching 950 miles so far this year.

+Juliana Souza voce seria um passaro muito bonito
Great tribute to an outstanding scientist and ultrarunner. He was never one to seek the limelight, but let his actions speak for him instead.
Wow how inspiring. I am 57 and have been a runner for the past 30 + years . This video surely gave me a lift . Thank you and thank you.
I live and trail/mountain run in Franklin County Maine. Read this man's books, they're great.
I watched this 6 times before I went for my run last night. I was infected by his passion and I love the music.
I've been reading Bernd's book One Wild Bird at a Time. I highly recommend it. Pure joy. He's my new idol.

Straight onto the favourites list. I feel so many of his emotions. I took up running late and regret the time I missed when I was much younger.
This man has found the answer many of us are still looking for.
I want that feeling back, that feeling that he can’t even describe. So this morning I’m up early at 5am to beat the Australian heat for my first run in over six months, here goes 👌
This is one of my favourite running videos for sure, when I grow up, that's what I wanna be like! :)

You should read the poem: Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night
you can run till you drop dead. Let nobody tell you otherwise.
Simplicity is beautiful
Bernd is truly leaving the dream and what a dream!
I enjoyed this. Thank you Bernd for sharing your wisdom and knowledge. We are all better with you in our lives.
"How much little things matter and how far they can take you". great talk. wen you will long run you will find this little important things.

Beautifully said this is why we run.
I was only able to get about halfway through before taking off for a run. Excellent.
What an inspiring individual and film...I will read everything he chooses to write about running
Wow. I love the connection he made with running as the most basic human function and our spirit. It's ingrained in us to MOVE! Beautiful video.
Fantastic. I watch this before every long distance run.
gosh i just teared right before he did. wow i am amazed! running is so much more than physical or mental, it somewhat feeds the soul, like he does.
Thank you fro introducing me to Bernd Heinrich. He definitely made me think why i run why i enjoy it. It makes me see places a pace where i can genuinely enjoy and at the same time not be bored by the slowness.

i do hope he has some company out there - lovely chap and far too pleasant to be on his own
s being on your own can be great 👍🏻
He seems to be the type who can enjoy life on his own. I watched this half a dozen times before my run last night. So much passion.

Wow!
If you want to see the top ultrarunner of all time check Yiannis Kouros forever running. The video has english subtitles and is fantastic.
I wish I can lead such a simple life ..
volar como un pájaro...pero correr se acerca mucho...
To me running is exercise and meditation combined.
I just don't get running and I guess I never will. I'm glad some people have something they enjoy though.
Did the To The Sea episode ever come out?
ah thats a class video, he's a deadly man:)
anybody knows if the soundtrack ("Breathe" By SignPost) can be listen to somewhere? couldn't find it on youtube...thanks
Something inspired people to move on
"Of course i really like to be a bird, but ah, running is a close second"
Can anyone find a link to the song in the background?
Oh man I love realty tv shows, like Real Estate Moguls Of Beverly Hills, House Hunters, Buy A Bungalow... Anything to do with realty really.
I was asked why I run. I told them: ask your self why you don't. :)
That's perfect
