Great fun, thank you for posting! Baryshnikov's DQ is my favorite version. He's fantastic and has just the right amount of ham in the comic scenes. Harvey is terrific, the whole cast is stellar. Young Susan Jaffe as Queen of the Dryads shows her beautiful line and I think is the best in this role after Alla Sizova. The tavern scene -- dance with the cups that Baryshnikov interpolated == is one minute of pure joy.
this is still the finest Don Q the leads are superb Harvey the finest Kitri both from dancing and acting Barishnikov untouchable his dance with the goblets both technically and dramatically perfect.
Sento CON TUTTO IL MIO CUORE dire un GRAZIE E MILLE GRAZIE ad DanceLineBalldt per aver inserito le storie in 10 minuti di diversi balletti con così tanta cura... Grazie ancora
Thank you so much for this Din Quixote to go! I love this ABT production with those great dancers! (and funny sub (: ) A pity that Don Q is not one the ballet stories included in retellings - it has great action and a lot of feisty, funny female energy.... Kitri is such an underrated ballet character (and another proof that ballet girls are brave and clever - btw, are you actually doing those personality tests? (Because I'm wondering whether I should put my old one finally edited here on RUclips)- What I'm also wondering that those fine ballets are mostly about love, dreams and exotic places. I should really try to watch a Don Quixote performance, but still...I'm not team Minkus (; But how would be a Don Quixote with Tchaikovsky's music? It would be also interesting to see the Spanish Dance from the Nutcracker with this scene in the beginning, when also Basilio has his guitar. Perhaps it could be even a Nutcracker second act with all those less known ballets, such as La Sylphide, Don Quixote, La Bayadere, Coppelia, The little humpbacked horse, Giselle, La Fille mal gardee....this is perhaps something I could imagine in a ballet as tribute to ballet (I know that there is Cranko's Nutcracker with a performance second act, but it would be so cool if it would include real ballets, such as Don Quixote......
You have many good ideas :) and thank you so much for your comments, they're always interesting to read! ❤️ You can get in touch with us by using the email address in the info section of our channel, if you want to share some thoughts feel free to do it! Thanks again!
@@DanceLineBallet You're welcome! I'm also using my channel for uploading videos on ballet history (of course, not so professional). I was also thinking about doing one about the fairies and fairy tale characters in Sleeping Beauty (because it is interesting from which fairy tales they are taken.) I would actually only do it with my own pics (and because I want to do modern retellings of ballets); but perhaps you could then do such a professional video on the topic with video or whatever Btw, what about the ballet personality tests (are you actually doing one/or going to do one?) Because perhaps I would upload the one I put here somewhere on a comment to one of your videos....I mean, just the text...and perhaps some drawings....but I would be curious whether you would do actually one (or based on the ideas I sent you?)?
The best Don Quichote I've ever seen! None is better than this one!

This is the absolute best DQ ever.

Какая радость - вновь увидеть прекрасных танцовщиков и великолепных артистов!
Сердечное спасибо!! 👏👏👏👏
💐💐
Unforgettable DQ. What I like most is that Misha did what he wanted to do, for example, the traditional Gypsy woman dance in the second act
Felicitaciones!!! Un compilado maravilloso! Gracias

Don Quixote Dulcinea variation is my fav
Love the lil stare at 2:59😂
My favorite DQ ever! The only role I really miss in this production is Mercedes, which barely exists here.
Thank you so much 🙏
Ben congeniato! Bravi!
