  • There were some incredible scenes in parliament yesterday, as Kemi Badenoch and Victoria Atkins tried to tag team in disrupting a speech by Labour minister, Steve Reed. The Deputy Speaker seemed to be asleep and took some time to restore order, but the behaviour of the Tory MPs in interrupting was incredible. If this is what they think their members want to see, then the Tories are in trouble.

Do the Tories realise that they are now out of power. They are throwing their toys out of a pram that is no longer theirs. They themselves were thrown out. Do they not realise that they hit the floor on the 4th of July? The behaviour of two of their potential leaders was childish, laughable and delusional and does not auger well for the party's future.

I was rather hoping for a greater picture of the run-up to the Victoria Atkins incident here. The rest was suitably informative and entertaining though, Phil, so I'm glad I came here. It was very relatable when you looked into her political background and said something like, "Oh! She's about the same age as me!". It very often happens like that when I look some personality or another up and it's a case of a birth date being either close to my own or to that of some other personality in the public eye of some significance to me.

He doesn't have the power to compel MPs to tell the truth but he probably does have the power to eject members for acting in such a way as to bring parliament into disrepute.
Misconduct of Members or Officers is officially contempt of parliament which certainly should include lying.

Heat pumps on individual properties isn't the most cost effective or greenest option. It would be much better to go for community heat and power as a requirement for new build estates (I've seen it on a few large estates recently). This can be air-source, but vertical ground-source heat pumps provide a higher temperature for energy input ratio and can supply multiple properties very reliably, but are expensive to install, so only work at a community or larger scale. The Munich model is great, but I doubt Labour will be as brave.

But Chope as Speaker - the person who stopped upskirting become a legal offense, the one who wanted workers to be able to opt out of the minimum wage, climate change sceptic and Brexiteer -which mps would vote for that now?

Solar panels are only affective if the house is pointing in the right direction, heat pumps are ok in some places but they aren’t the great power panacea, I’ve had them I had the solar panels removed, they need maintenance and some parts replacing, I’m disabled so doing this stuff is beyond my abilities. Sorry, I still hate and loath Thatcher, she sold our industries, tortured the poor bloody miners and on and on and on.
