Been looking all over the internet for a good review of these, but couldnt find anything besides old forum posts. You could go with either STREETEDGE or BELLTECH, they both seem to have the same parts goin on.

Thats exactly why im doin it brotha! I appreciate the love from across the pond
Thats exactly why im doin it brotha! I appreciate the love from across the pond
A Idea too would be to get a sway bar made up if u find the springs don't stiffen it enough.
@@jaredpursey3791 i actually have a 1 ton rear sway bar i plan on throwing on if the rear doesnt feel tight enough! Hopefully monday ill weld the diff up and see how it feels!
I got a drift minitruck I live in south Queensland
Thank you soooo much bud I recently just picked up a yota pick up and I’ve been searching everywhere for a video like this thank you lots super budget friendly 😁
No problem! Thats exactly why i did this, i couldnt find any vids or info on a setup like mine so i figured id buy everything and share my experience!
dude thank you. this is what i wanna do (probably gonna be a while before can tho).
no blocks, no bags. i wouldn't mind a c notch, but definitely no step notch. bed stays as is.
i haven't found anything like this except your videos, and they are clean, to the point, no bs.
MY MAN, THANK YOU, thats exactly what i was trying to do! everything seems like it would be pricey at first, but in reality youre spending as much as you would on a mid range set of coilovers with no cutting, grinding, fabricating, etc. hopefully in next weeks video i can weld the diff and put this thing to the test!
I love the build so far bro I love that your posting this content I have a 92 pick up that ima make into a lil drift build too love the progress keep it up with the mini truck built would love to see more
Thank you! Contents been kinda slow, been busy with work and family life, also no money for car parts lol!
Keep making vids. Best energy and vibe on car youtube imo
Dude these drift minitruck videos are awesome!!! Keep it up and keen for more! All the way from Australia 🤠🇦🇺
FUCKIN AUSIEEEEEEEEEE, hell yeah brotha, im more than excited to see so many people from Aus liking my content, and yu can bet ur sweet arse the content is gonna keep comin! much love man
@@GutZ_47 yeah man it’s awesome! I’m gunna do the exact same thing to my truck as well! I’ve got blocks in the rear and torsion bars wound down atm and I’m keen to actually have some control and a smooth ride
Thanks for this. I got a ‘90 for my house remodel duties, but got the itch to lower it. I’ve modded and restored plenty of modern and classic cars, but never a truck. Definitely going your route in the rear. Originally was going with the 2/3 drop on ebay. But this is def better than blocks. Thanks
well, if it means anything, i used my truck after i lowered it to move all our furniture, things, shop equipment etc. over to our new home. i had like no issues besides occasional rub on the bumpstops on country roads. i also use my truck to go do any mobile welding or repair work on the side and it hauls engine crane, welding equipment, tools, and jacks/stands no issues! GO FOR IT BROTHA
Keep the vids coming, I’m in the process of the same kind of build with my 88 pickup. Appreciate your work.
Thank you! Im working on some stuff right now but been preoccupied with getting our new home settled
Man its been killing me waiting on your next vid to drop hope everything’s good with the new house and stuff, super stoked to see the next vid 🤙
@@shadetree.engineering my dude, ive just been super busy with life, gonna have another baby lol. i got a few things im workin on for the truck, im gonna try and upload a vid next week!
New to the chanel, I love the build it motivates me to lower mine some day!
thanks man! i hope you get around to it soon, its well worth it
Sick asss mechanic skills cuh🙌
Aye thanks cuzin!
Nice work brother!
thank you! i appreciate a mini truck OG showing love
I'm#500, thanks for the videos/info!
bro holy shit! i appreciate the fuck outa you man lol i wouldve never imagined hitting 500 subs. might have to make some stickers to send out! 😎
proper hot-rodding is back
ayyyeeee yes it is. i appreciate the support :)
Have a 2nd gen S10 wanting to go the drift truck route. Great vids Clear plan and post install reviews let us see if we should tweek or not
that sounds dope brotha! hope it turns out nice. and will do, my trucks been driving really decent since my mods. ill do a 3 month drive review!
Very nice Yota, hopefully one day I'll be able to do something similar with my dad's hilux
Thanks brotha! These trucks need abit of elbow grease but nonetheless you can
Yo your stuff is so nice, I have a bone stock mini yota truck just like yours and I plan on moding it later. These video are going to help so much when I go to do it.
dude, fuck yes, thats exactly why im doing it! not enough mini truck guys out there. let me know how your build goes man. im gonna have another vid up soon showing how to weld your diff and install an nrg seat!
You are a creative mechanic❤
thank you i appreciate that!
Awesome videos 🤘🏻. I wish someone would do this type of work for the extended cab model 3vze😭
Thank you! I appreciate the love. And I agree not enough Tacoma guys out there making videos!
Thank you for the video and all the info,I look into the same leaf’s,I have a 1980 Toyota pickup (2WD)so this will fit I just don’t know about the rear shocks, can I get the same as you did??
got the same exact truck love your videos brotha
thank you man! gotta make sure we protect these trucks at all cost lol
@@GutZ_47 for sure man, it’s my first ever truck so i’m still in the process of learning about it but it’s worth it
Great video man about to pick me up a 94 with only 75k miles
Thats clutch bro! Wish u luck on that build brotha

Dude please keep this build going, I'm looking to do the same after having a Holden rodeo minitruck with no suspension (welded diff to chassis). I'd love to see how this turns out.
you got it man! just got some new wheels, might be dropping a vid tomorrow ;)
Can't wait man
Looks clean I have a 93 in the builds
Thanks man! Got a few more things i wanna do to it before i hop on my other projects. You keeping your 93 22re or swapping?
@@GutZ_47 I just got a rebuilt motor but after I’m done with getting all the little things out of the way then I want to swap don’t know what engine yet though 1uz or 1jz
Bro , Nice truck Now I miss my 94 Nissan D21 Hardbody 😭
I like to call them 240sx trucks lol. You should get one! Theyre going to become rare anytime now
@@GutZ_47 it’s hard to get a decent one...
i agree with you there. gotta look in the Pacific NorthWest or Nevada areas to find cheap nice ones.
Hey brotha what's the Gabriel stabilizer shock part number?
Nice thx for the vid so i noticed your seats are low wat kind of seats you got and how did u get it low?
Toyota Celica seats! i used the stock rails but had to make 2 mounts for the back of the rails. ill make a video detailing my interior abit soon, im gonna install an NRG seat!
@@GutZ_47 nice thx for the update i jus put 4runner sr5 seats in mines and they sit a lil to high
@@kaohuohanaatay410 you could probably reuse the 4 runner rails with celica seats
@@GutZ_47 thx imma try that
What about the load struts you put in the back? Do they feel good? I’m trying to find options to lower my yota and I want reliability with suspension because I’m using it as a daily. Would you say that I could use the p2s with stock leafs and lowering blocks? Ofc I will upgrade the leafs eventually
Well, saying they feel good is kinda vague, with load they feel great, my bed hardly compresses and it takes bumps really good, without load the bed is really stiff. i can bite corners way harder than i used to with blocks, but leafsprings will never feel like a good 4 link/coilover setup. compared to stock tho, it feels really fuckin good.
Dude thank you for the responses, honestly you’re the only person noticeably out there who’s setup is easy to follow and your instructions is pretty clear. I will surely have more questions
@@josephgivens7375 oh yeah, these load adjuster shocks will NOT work with lowering blocks. with drop leafs, you change the mounting position of the shock by about 4 or 5 inches so you have to run a shorter shock, if youre going with blocks, just get any oreilly or autozone off the shelf load adjuster that fits a stock pickup!
Could it work with other drop leafs or does it have to be the street edge?
@@josephgivens7375 from everything ive read online about the leafs, both belltech and streetedge use the same dimensions, the only difference is more than likely quality of metal or just branding costs. If you find a 2" drop leaf, i would just measure out your new mounting points and look online for a similar sized shock. I know theres a few threads on toyotaminis that goes over what size shock to run with specific setups/drops.
I have 3 inch blocks and clamped the overload leaf to the rest on the ends, would this spring assisted shock work for me or no?
No, using blocks keeps the leafs and mounting bracket at stock position measured from shock mounting points. You would be fine with an overload shock for stock height trucks
@@GutZ_47 ah makes sense, thank you
Hey brother! Just wondering how the leafs and shocks holding up? Was looking at these leafs and can't find any reviews on them from someone that runs them. Im hoping to stiffen up my rear end cause im just slamming on the frame with any kind of bump at the moment. Thanks, Bless!
They've been awesome! I ended up running 98 taco rear shocks instead. Only thing I do recommend is addid leaf spring helpers (mine are the off the shelf AutoZone ones) to help with wheel hop if u do decide to drift it
I'm able to hold a full load in the rear and not scrape at all, do recommend buying some shims to offset your pinion angle tho. Shouldn't be more than a few bucks on ebay
Yo what steely rims are you running 15x10 or 15x8? I have the same truck. And tires too, almost forgot.
15x10 -44 cragar v5! the tires are 185/60 ohtsu fp7000. i really recommend these tires, theyre made in the same factory as Kuhmos, have a really great tread design and have lasted me quite awhile on a welded diff. if i were to do it all over, id go with the jegs 5 spoke. these wheels are EXTREMELY heavy and dont like being balanced, for 20 bucks more a wheel you can get a 15 lb lighter aluminum wheel that looks better IMO lol
www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/66081/10002/-1
what's your steering wheel set up man? I have basically the identical truck color and everything. want to do a quick release wheel, also curious about your seats I want to get rid of my bench.
just a basic NRG quick release with an ebay mr2 short hub adapter!
and my seats are out of a 85 celica gt i own. had to custom make the seat mounts tho!
Thank you bro!!
Truck looks nice I want to do my we’re tu get the let spring
Streetedge or belltech has em for around 300 bucks
Would you happen to have an ig or something so I could message you directly? I have lots of questions lol
dude i actually dont, ive been off social media for about 3 years now. i am planning on making one for my channel tho, i never expected to have over 500 subs lmao!
So i just did my drop spindles on my truck and now one my tires are pushing out went to a alignment shop and they said they cant align due to tie rods maxed out did u have any problems like this with your truck
by maxed out do you mean positive toe? or camber? i honestly didnt have any issues with alignment whatsoever. i did redo my entire front steering components with new ones tho. but technically all your pickup points should match their OE location.
@@GutZ_47 they said my toe was maxed out well gonna take a look at it again tomorrow hopefully i can figure it all out
thats really strange to me. unless they have 1 side cranked all the way out and 1 cranked in i couldnt possibly see how you would be maxxed out on toe. i have about 2 inches of thread left both in and out.
When I don't have access to a press I use a couple sockets an a C-clamp on easier stuff like that
shoulda thought of that. i suffered on my bench vise for an hour trying to get it out lol.
How do the leaf springs feel?
dude, they feel awesome, even with the bed loaded up. its never gonna feel like a coilover IRS car but compared to drop blocks it feels super stiff and balanced
Yo from 209. You think those load adjuster shocks will work in the front?
yes! they actually have a specific ac delco one that will work for the front. www.amazon.com/ACDelco-519-36-Specialty-Assisted-Absorber/dp/B0012PM19K/ref=asc_df_B0012PM19K/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=312765622753&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16973895050983018670&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9032281&hvtargid=pla-570271680869&psc=1

@@Justintheegreat check out Jordans build, he runs them in the front ruclips.net/video/LG3iQf62PJE/видео.html
What diff you going to use
im thinking of keeping the stock diff for now just weld it. eventually im gonna go ford 8.8 once i start looking into 4 link
What year is your truck
its a 91!
What rims and tires are you running? Can you give specs?
theyre cragar 15x10 -44. the wheels are 185/60 i think, might be 65s. the tires are ohtsu f5000, theyre basically rebranded cheaper kuhmos
@@GutZ_47 do you get any rubbing with this offset? If I’m correct there is only like a 3” backspace on these wheels. What did you do to allow fitment?
And are the tires stretched?
Do you have good enough clearance with the 3”backspace? I’m sorry for all the questions lol
@@josephgivens7375 lol no worries brotha, yeah the tires are stretched, i wanted the 90 small tire jdm look lol. the inner wheel doesnt rub on anything except the inner fender well on the front on full lock (stock angle still).i rolled the front fenders (with the bar on the jack lol)so i dont really see much rubbing unless im going fast around a corner. the rears dont rub at all but i also have about 2 inches of gap to close. i think you could get away with a slightly wider tire if you use a good fender roller!
What state are you from?
Cali!
Lol I did mine on 3” blocks and the I still have to do the whole front drop :/
The front drop isnt to bad, i recommend u keep it abit level if not youll get driveline vibrations. All i can say is i need new u joints lmao
@@GutZ_47 same here hahahaha
lol yeah, in between 50 to 60 i can feel it vibin bad. i gotta get an angle finder to figure out how much pinion angle i need.
@@GutZ_47 bro i really need you to see my truck tho I think it’s really bad
I feel like I keep getting smacked in the face every few mins with the camera smacks lol. I might have to switch to rear leaf springs instead of blocks too after this video.
lmao ive never thought of it that way, but i recommend it man. either the belltechs or the streetedge ones, truck feels WAYYY better.
bro im tryna meet up for some skids, i just set my lil truck up!!
I live out in the country towards passed patterson. But im down af
@@GutZ_47 im only an hour and 45 awy from you i drive more than that just for work haha
@@OmarDiaz-qe8xt once i weld my diff its bad bro, like i said im down af, theres a coo amount of spots to slide out here.
@@GutZ_47 I need to weld my diff too so lmk when you doing it lmao I'm down to do it
@@OmarDiaz-qe8xt i wanna do it next week but i gotta redo my ujoints and trans mount first
Wheel specs?
Was wondering if I can do this with 17's or atleast 16's without running into too much problems, what would you reccomend I do and what problems do you think I might run into?
15x10 -44 cragars! you should be able to but if you go pretty low youd have to cut your inner fenderwell. even with my 15s i get a bit of inner fender rub on super hard corners. if you do get 15s tho, stay away from these, theyre great if your going offroad and stuff but theyre way to heavy. look for cast aluminum welds or american racings, usually super cheap and have crazy deep offsets.
@@GutZ_47 ohhhhhhh okay, thanl you for the help my man, this helps a lot
Bro just film all the way with the yota... #yotagang #stock
Ayee i can guarantee ima keep the truck content, just trying to finish up all my other projects too lmao
All the items you’re using to put on your yota is what imma try to do. My truck is too damn high lol. Positive energy, less money spent and motivation bro. I’ll be waiting for the next vid... Cali connect
i appreciate the love brotha! im looking into converting the ebrake from a pull handle to a lever, and a few other things. vids will be up soon!
U- bolts suck indeed
F u bolts lmao
