College is fundamentally broken
Let's not miss the opportunity to point out why though aye lol
College is a joke… I got my “degree” years ago and it had no application towards my current career
@@tigerprincess11I agree! I'm pushing 50yrs old now.
My kid had to change from robotics to bio.
Robotics/Tech is the "new" thing now everyone is getting into.
This kid is going to be in a better position in life than any of those kids left with all that debt.
Not everyone who goes to college incurs debt
@@frankmacleod2565he's thinking of the kids who's parents push them towards the debt so they can rock nice trainers and get hair done and front on insta.
Rich cunts don't count. Duh
Ok
Exceptional grades disapprove, parents that paid and got caught for admissions fraud approved. Strange world we live in, eh.
Absolutely insane that you can work hard and be punished for working hard
Because of BLM, burn loot murder
He wasn't punished for working hard. He was punished for not being of a certain race and sex. Textbook definition of racism and sexism.
Affirmative Action is still practiced by most universities.
Cool. He gets real life experience that will help him more
College is broken.
Can't blame affirmative action😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
It’s cuz he’s asian.
I thought the "Students for Fair Admissions" won? Why can't they get their kids into any of these colleges now? Seems like their "win" had the exact opposite result.
Just imagine how hard it is for Asian students who are not smart....
I thought affirmative action was dead
feels the same like when you want to apply at a place you really want to work at, but you never get called, Congrats to you now you get freebies like meals, snacks, oh no sorry, they cut down on expenses
Wait a minute, you have to be 'multi dimensional' in order to work in the MATH, and SCIENCE fields???? What kind of crap is that? I want the most brilliant MINDS making my high tech, doing my medical procedures, designing and maintaining any AIRCRAFT or vehicle I'm riding in, etc. I don't want some damned DIVERSITY HIRE.
Way less school debt. That's awseome.
He got into 2 of the colleges he applied for so the headline is misleading. It made it seem like he was left without any options as far as college and that was not true.
Can’t blame affirmative action
2:19 - That's pretty messed up to tell a kid like that to go to a community college. This is a guy that's willing to give out bad advice just to further his own career.
To clarify, there isn't anything he can prove to those colleges by going to a community college that he didn't prove by having a 4.42 GPA and a 1590 SAT score.
"16 of the top schools in the country", did he try applying to a state school or a not so prestigious school? Either way he's better off than most of the ones who got it, he won't have to worry about student loa debt.
Yes many UC's and state schools, as well as higher-level colleges which I find very interesting. I'm glad that he's doing well without student debt now!
Thats crazy.
So even without a friend of action this asian kid couldn't get in.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I have to wonder if there just isn't that much demand for computer engineers.
Another problem is there aren't enough colleges. More colleges would bring down the price of education and classroom seats for all.
Or we could remove race parameters from the induction process
@@Lukey111and remove those legacy admissions.
They did remove race. At the UCs they rank you against your classmates at your high school instead, and at Gunn a lot of people have straight A's already
I read that some of the requirement to apply is having good social work like volunteer etc. I guess that stanley doesn't have much time for that, he learns coding by himself except for competition.
I have friend that already working as animator in a studio, this studio work as outsourcing from US. My friend apply a scholarship abroad and the requirement is similar in tbe us : lots of social/Environmental works. Well my friend have none, she works 12 hour per day, 5 day a week and supporting her family. She just want to futther her knowledge, but of course she was rejected. It kinda funny, she is financially less so, so she seeks scholarship but as more experienced (bc she already works in the field) than other applicant, she just failed.
Nice try. The company is completely evil.
He got no debt for 4 yrs of college he didn't need. He probably make 80k a yr time that by 4 and 4 yr college . Half million dollar
Eeeh all these colleges should have a good reason as to why they all rejected him
Luckily google hired him
Coz he didn't play basketball like Jeremy Lin
you cant hire (higher) me.. unless you Lower me first..
i'm so confused. They hired him as a engineer, but he has literally no engineering experience. he does not know what he's doing. Just because he has a good grades doesn't mean he has the qualifications to be an engineer. The story is iffy and weird.
wdym no experience, he created a startup rabbitsign, his team won second in one of mits global competitions in the hs division (first in the us), + a bunch other stuff idr rn. also its not just engineer, he was hired as a software engineer, so coding, so what he has a bunch of experience in.
@@keisschan4084was this mentioned anywhere in this news story?
@@milkchan202 not sure if it was in this video, but it was on the other abc7 videos for this of the interview w him
His dad is a engineering manager at google
@milkchan202 you there is this nifty thing called Google where you can search things up. 😂
