    This product line was my first experience coming back into my natural curly/wavy hair, last November. To date, 6 months, I’ve tried a few other products and keep coming back to TreLux! I absolutely LOVE hi-definition and ReFlex. They smell AMAZING and they work so well on my hair. I have 2c/3a hair curly and use either both or on their own. I absolutely love those two products. I get them from Walgreen’s. Great review by the way so thorough. Thank you.

    Does this line contains any glycerin in its products for wavies?Just wondering since is hard to find products for hair without it and humidity levels are crazy over here in Jersey (raining every week) and I can see more frizz than before, this is why am trying to avoid glycerin as much as posible in my hair care routine... happy to see you back! Love your videos!

      I got the TreLuxe leave in conditioner and the gel and like it so far! The leave in conditioner I can use a little bit and does good job on my hair, the gel is amazing it leaves my hair shiny and well define, I can say that for my hair needs this TreLuxe gel is better than Jessicurl Spiralicious gel

    Also, thanks for sharing this review! One of the things that keeps me coming back to your channel is the fact that you take your followers' trust very seriously; we can have faith in the fact that you would never agree to do a sponsored video for a product you haven't yourself really enjoyed using, & would probs recommend at some future date even without the partnership of the company. CG beaRUclips can be a bit of a dungeon crawl when it comes to spotting the shills among the authentic recommendations (which is why I personally never buy anything being boosted without first checking Influenster, Makeup Alley, and the consumer reviews on its Amazon listing, to get the real tea), but I always know that if _you_ are suggesting a product to your viewers, then you've tried it, you unequivocally liked it, and you'll probably personally use it again at some point - or suggest it to a client, if you think it's great quality but for different hair needs than your own.
    Keep fighting the good fight. ❤❤❤

    • @alysonlupo
      @alysonlupo  5 лет назад +4

      Oh my goodness, friend. Your words mean more to me than you know. I do feel sponsored posts have reached a saturation point on social, though, which is why I'm opting to really limit mine, even if it's a product I do genuinely like. Optics do matter, even if they're not necessarily accurate; there are a lot of fakers out there who have created sort of an insincerity the rest of us have to fight against, but I'm not sure it's worth it. So, most of my future product reviews will be un-sponsored because Lawd that's just easier and less stressful anyway! Thank you for your support and love!

    I like the review. I have been using the Hi Definition Custard and I like it. It gives you volume as it contains rice extract. In reviews from products what I look for is seeing the spokeperson actually using the products not just talking. That makes a more reliable review. I see some others mentioning glycerine. How does the curl enhancing goop work for you in your Texas humidity? Struggling now in South Florida with ours. Always on the lookout for a good summer go-to! Glad to see you back!!! 💕

    • @alysonlupo
      @alysonlupo  5 лет назад +2

      At the beginning of my journey, when my hair was just super dehydrated, glycerin was a problem for me in the 60-70-degree summer dewpoints in Texas. 3+years in, my hair is pretty well hydrated from the inside out, so glycerin doesn't have the reactive effects it did early on. Summer frizz for you could mean a few things: Deep condition more often; protein treat every other week; and lay off glycerin for the season, and bring it back in the fall. Then try glycerin again next year. Time and consistency make the biggest differences.

    • @lisagalvin9987
      @lisagalvin9987 5 лет назад

      Thanks for the advice!!! I deep condition every week and have a pretty good bead on my moisture/protein needs. I think the wild card for me is growing out past highlighted sections that tend to be extra dry. I am about 3 years in and am used to switching products between seasons. I may give glycerin a try just to see how my hair does at this point. Thanks again!

    Thank you for a thorough and honest review! I tried the serum and gel once, but felt like they didn't have enough hold for my coarse wavy-curly hair. Maybe I didn't use enough or maybe the propylene glycol acts too much like glycerin in our humid, coastal weather. I'll keep experimenting... Anyway, I subscribed and can't wait to watch more of your videos. 🙂

    Thanks for the video! I feel a little bit like I am shotgun approach finding what works for me, ordering tons of product. I always feel compelled to order shampoo, conditioner, and styling products from the same brand because they are formulated to work together. Is this a good approach or am I just spending more money than necessary.

    • @alysonlupo
      @alysonlupo  5 лет назад +1

      Everyone feels that way in the beginning. Have you seen some of my older videos? I tried everything under the sun, and every bit of that was out of my own pocket! (Don't tell husband). But I learned a LOT about products, formulation, patterns, my own hair, application methods, styling techniques, etc.That said, I think trying out lots of products is an investment in your own knowledge base, if you're into that sort of thing, and you can do it without putting yourself in a financial bind. But once you find something you like, I'm always in favor of sticking with that for at least a while, using it up, and trying something new after that if you feel the itch. And save your receipts! I always return things if they absolutely don't work for me.

      @@alysonlupo thanks. I've been working my way through the older videos... Lol there are a few. One thing I couldn't find is one about a once a month clarifying shampoo. I've been using something cheap and I have to agree with you on this, I would rather pay for quality.

    😂😂😂 I love the description you had about coarse hair cuz that hits the mark 🤣 I have wavy/curly hair that is a mix of medium and coarse. I’ve been eyeing TreLuxe as a brand to try so I love how in depth you get with the ingredients when you do reviews.
    I’m trying to use up all my current products before I try anything new but TreLuxe is at the top of my list especially after your review. I just have too much clutter and too many products in my bathroom at the moment.
    My all time fave Custard is the Kinky Curly Custard but it flakes on me so I didn’t repurchase when I finished the tub 😭. I haven’t heard a lot of folks talk as in depth about the texture of the TreLuxe gel so you comparing it to a Custard has me a little bit more excited about trying it for myself. I can’t wait!

    • @alysonlupo
      @alysonlupo  5 лет назад +1

      I hope it works for you!! If you still experience flaking, a good clarifying might be in order, or try your products with a different leave in. But try one new thing at a time!

    • @short.andcurly8772
      @short.andcurly8772 5 лет назад

      real life+curly girl I used the Kinky Curly Custard with the Kinky Curly Leave in and it would still flake on me no matter what. If I cowashed, shampooed, or even after clarifying. It was super disappointing because the Custard was my go to gel. It always gave me great consistent results...except for the snow I had when I would SOTC and shake out my curls 😂😂
      And it wasn’t dandruff cuz that’s been under control for a while 😂😂😂

      @short.andcurly8772 5 лет назад +1

      At this rate I might have to wait till next year try TreLuxe but I’ll get to it. I miss a good custard-y Gel. Ironically I’ve never tried MopTop 🤣

      YEP. The product lines that live between drugstore and salon are typically pretty darn good--they're just smaller, so they can't get the shelf space the big guys can, and can't get the attention of salons (and can't charge salon prices). Which is why you'll find most of them online. Take advantage!! TréLuxe, MopTop, Jessicurl, Bounce Curl, Rizos Curls, CurlMix, etc.....they're all great, and priced well!

      @@alysonlupo Seeing hair freshly done looks great. I've had some products that look amazing when I first do my hair, but fall short before the day is over. I want to see how the hair looks at the end of wash day and at least after the first refresh.

    Ok. I was getting ready to pull the trigger on Bounce Curl. So NOW which one should I try??? I have fine , colored ; wavy/ Curley , frizzy hair when I don’t use products.

      Anne Leonards If you’re in a hot, humid climate, beware Bounce Curl this time of year due to the glycerin!

      I usually use deva curl products. Should I try the new brand then, or stick with what I’m using? Can’t get more humid than Louisiana!!

      Girl, Jessicurl Spiralicious is my go-to for super humid life situations. And you know it, Louisiana this time of year is swampy! You may enjoy Bounce Curl or TréLuxe in the late fall, winter, and early spring, but summer is for Spiralicious!

    I'm so angry with my hair stylist. This morning i had an hair cut, i have 2B. I left the saloon with dry hair, they put so much gel, hair spray, foam and an awful shampoo! And they told me:" you should take more care of your hair, they are dry! You should use our products and nothing else!"
    And i was thinking: f@ck off, when I wash it at home the are stunning!!
    P.s. english is not my motherlanguage

    Funny... the only thing I didn’t like about these products was the fragrance! I guess to each his own.

    This stuff made my hair look awful! Flat, limp, stringy and straight! My worst hair day I’ve had in forever.

      Oh, no! I'm so sorry to hear that! Did you try it out on clarified hair? I found that if I tried new products on hair that hadn't been clarified/deep conditioned in a while, my results were usually less than stellar, and it wasn't giving the new products a fair chance. Just my two cents!

      real life+curly girl hmm I am not sure haha. I am going to give it another try on my hair next time I clarify, I haven’t thought of that before. Thanks for the advice ☺️
