      Actually putting it together easier than taking it apart... banana chips help... dont forget to have a pack otherwise it will not work for you! (speaking from experience) lol

    Just take the registration to the dealer and have a key made instead of tearing the car apart

      Why should I do that if I can make it myself I am no handy man... it's a locksmith job.(Automotive locksmith here)

      My key for my 95 ended up costing 50 for key code look up 34 for the key and another 50 to cut it. Ignition cylinder with key is like 20$

      @@jaketrevino1659 Were they able to match the resistor and cut the key by the vin?

      Can the dealer match the resistor using the vin?

    • @jaketrevino1659
      @jaketrevino1659 4 года назад +2

      @@michaeldolph483 yes they can. They will ask for a proof if ownership usually the title. It cost 50$ for the gm dealership in Amarillo Tx to look up the key codes. They gave me the code for vats the code to cut the ignition key too and also the door key code. I it was another 90 for the new key and for them to cut it. Dont get your key from the dealership. Find a local lock smith and take them your codes and they can cut you a vats key for around 25$ it just isn't a "gm key" but looks like a generic version. Mine worked fine.

    dude. camera was all over the place. information was good. I recommend re-doing the video with someone else holding the camera, while you show the steps. really hard to watch.

    Hey Mr Einstein mechanic I made my own steering wheel puller, I use Pizza 1 inch angle iron drilled three holes in it and three bolts the two outer holes were for going into the threaded holes in the steering wheel, and slip the middle bolt through to the center of the steering wheel column and I put a nut on the bottom side to push the angle iron upwards so it would pull the wheel off, I don't even know why I'm watching this video I was hoping to to see something I haven't done yet to gain a little knowledge but I don't think I'm going to get it from this video.

    Man if you wanted to learn the value of the key for the vat system all that you needed was a multimeter and test the chip in the key one side of the key of Reed higher than the other you take the higher reading I don't think I've ever seen a more bumbling video than this one

      You’re so smart bro, essentially what you’re saying is that if he wants to know the value of the key(which he doesn’t have) is to test the resistance on the chip(which is on the key that he doesn’t have) and that way he can make a new key? Can you make a video on how to test values on non-existent keys?
