I have a question If an altimeter setting is not available, the pilot can set the altimeter to the airport's field elevation before takeoff. is this true?
Yes. But at 5.000ft AMSL or 3.500ft AGL the pilot needs to transition from altitude (ft) to Flight Levels (FL) by dialing in the international standard altitude (ISA) QNH 1013,25. Sometimes gliders which stay in the proximity of the airfield even use the QFE which means that (before take off) you dial your altimeter to show 0 ft at runway level.
To find drift and g/s ( 90 percent use) and to find w/v mark above so wind arrow points to centre. The third problem, no one ever calculates, wind has to go down, don't worry about that.
it’s messed up how they tell you to make a line with a pen or a marker , as my first time with this i went ahead and made a line with a pen and had a time wiping it off after so i could solve another problem , i figured the plastic was smooth enough so the ink would not hold on and the expert is telling me to do it so i won’t question .If i used a marker i would have to buy a new flight computer , if i make a permanent line with a pen or a maker each time i used the wind side , after the forth use i would have to buy a new one .
Recommending using a pen or marker on the expensive device, without explicitly saying ’erasable,’ instead of recommending using a pencil is dumb as hell. It’s even dumber than saying 42-5=38.
The first e6b tutorial I can follow and comprehend. Thank you!
07:04 42-5 = 37, not 38. I love your videos, well done.
JUST the refresher I needed, thank you so much!
Excellent E6B videos. OUTSTANDING!
Finally…it sticks to the gray n white matter!
Best explanation ever
good video but 7:22 42 - 5 is 37
You are right! I made a little mistake there with the math.
good tutorial, thank you!!
Yes very good video thank you for this Video
Neither a pilot, nor a student and finally found a video to understand wcs, gs, tc calculations.
Outstanding sir. Thank you!
Thank you!
Very good video. Just that 42-5=37
thank you very much!!
lets see if i can master this thing !!!

I am confused
When do we mark the wind upwards or downwards the center dot?

How can you find WCA and GS if a certain wind direction is not given? Only TAS and TC
Hi! How can I do to calculate high airspeeds? i.e. TAS 450... I'm struggling with the ATPL GNAV exam :(

The _Expo_ Vis à Vis brand wet erase markers (think overhead projector) work well.
Yeah the “bible” tricked them into uncovering a new truth 😂

Since when 43 - 5 is equal 38 ???
You meant 42-5, not 43-5.

this is not a nice comment. you should appreciate his effort. if you have any feedback, please say it in a polite way
