it really is a good way to solve bios troubles, now the hard part is if you fuck up and forget to enable-disable system specific settings.
like on my system i had to enable above 4G Decoding, just like on those video you can be stuck on a problem for far to long even though the answer is staring right at you.
Im glad to see that im employing most of their technique too, though how non of them bothered with task manager is a sin!

@@mrinaljoshi294 So it was SO WEIRD watching this, because I had this exact issue with OBS the previous night - the Desktop Audio stream shows it's working (and correctly displaying the meter) but it doesn't go to the stream. There are no settings that explain why the issue is occurring.
Anyway, the way I ended up fixing it was adding in Steam Streaming Audio as an audio capture - the way they fixed it was by restarting the stream. Extra horrible for them was that it HAD been working and then stopped, so they probably had already confirmed everything was working loading up the stream on another machine and didn't see anything change to knock it out.
Thanks to the LTT crew (and Chase who has a job) for the invite! Watching this back and yeah it’s kinda funny to hear those audio issues 😂 such a cool challenge though, I never knew the dummy DIMMs were a thing for eg. Excited for pt.3 🤟

Free Tech Tip! (You only get one.) When live streaming and especially when you have a crew hosting an event, have someone watch the stream as a regular viewer to point out issues that only show up on that side. This can also help create troubleshooting steps on the fly for when some of the audience has client issues.

Yes, I livestreamed a wedding once during this pandemic and it really helps having someone to monitor the actual stream from viewers perspective other than the streamer's perspective. We get much better audio mix too because sometimes what we hear in our audio interface doesn't match what the viewer hears after post processing and encoding etc
(Ik this is an old comment sry), but when I livestream sports, I'll have my phone running the stream and listen to that. I can tell if my audio is a mess or if I have another issue, and I can block out the screaming of nearby fans. My setup is just one camera/one microphone, though, so there's not much that can go wrong. I usually just end up listening to music with anc on 😅.

@@bean6520 im not entirely sure, all i know is kris was making the rgb on the pc all green to match with the pepeD on the front panel and linus mentioned near the end that it wasnt politically correct, tho tbf i did hear that our (kris) community was spamming the saber variant of that emote and mods kept timing them out, so maybe that had something to do with it. still tho to take points away cause of viewer action is kinda non-sense.

Just record each stream separately so when the stream inevitably has audio problems, you can splice in source audio to the RUclips edit. This series is very fun, it doesn't deserve to be marred by understandable tech issues!

Maybe its time for LMG to hire a Sound Engineer, just saying fyi I got the diploma. I'll move to Canada
They could use a dedicated stream director or whatever the official title would be. LTT streams nearly always have some issue that even people using OBS for the first time don't run into.

@@heni63 right.....so typically you would do several trial streams. I love LTT but they have a history of “good enough” type due diligence and testing where it’s not that surprising so many troubles happen.

For a tech tips channel you guys do run into tech issues a lot.
Yeah this one is baffling to me. From a viewer standpoint, LTT's livestream production value is not really any better than other large streams out there, yet somehow they have more production problems than every other stream I watch combined

I feel like unplugging everything and replugging it from scratch would have been a faster and more accurate way to this challenge

Linus gave Kris a hard time about memory at 01:43:27 but at 01:29:00 Kris clearly is asking how do you disable DIMM slots. Kris new the entire time that something was wrong with the memory. He just didn't know about the blank RGB modules. He was trying to "reenable" them!!!

Next tech support challenge should have extra points for whoever fixes the audio issues, heck give the points to whoever notices that there's no audio on the stream. A couple of tech tips, have someone watching the stream to notice if the issue is real or people is trolling you, and if it comes down to it have a phone ready and just call them. Any audio is better than no audio.

I've never seen one of these streams, and I'm only a few minutes in on this one, but this has the be the greatest start to a tech support competition ever, right? Losing audio, the host begging for it to be fixed, the guests being left in the green room. I love you guys, lmao.

I wish you guys had a comprehensive list of the issues on each pc for us to read in comments or description, it would make watching them work a lot more exciting seeing them discover or completely miss something we know.

I highly disagree with the RGB scoring.
ToastyBros - they got RGB working, but they didn't change anything to it at all, I think it's worth 3 points. They didn't install the dummy ram sticks back, so I'd dock 1 point for that. 2 points in total.
Kristoferyee - working RGB worth 3 points, cohesive front panel, liquid cooler, top fans and ram modules for additional 4 points. I think the front panel pixel art pepe deserves another bonus point for creativity. One point docked for the unnecessary software. 7 points in total.

I am an active contributer to OpenRGB which solves almost entirely the RGB software problem
And while OpenRGB isn't an effects engine, using something like artemis as an effects engine is totally an option

This video now has got my attention. This is what I love to do, troubleshooting, I went to school for computer networking. Never finished. I actually troubleshoot computers on vehicles everyday. I’d love to give this a try.

Audio always seems like such a difficult thing to get right. My primary esports game is StarCraft II and I've been watching tournaments from the beginning (2010) and with every new Tournament Organizer (TO) audio issues are always a problem. "NASL sound guy" is the meme we use whenever there are audio issues because that TO got it hilariously wrong during their events. Really puts it into perspective how "traditional media" have got this thing figured out a long time ago, but "new media" such as popular RUclipsrs and Streamers are still struggling with audio problems when dealing with multiple sources like this.
The fact that a channel with over 14 million subscribers has audio issues on stream makes me feel so much better about my own streams 😂
Me at start: "Well this is a dumb theme"

Honestly the audio in all these videos is always the first challenge and should be left to the contestants to fix as well.
You should get a button you can press to alert the team when to introduce the contestants in and when to cut them off.
That way you can flow through the stream without having to verbally instruct them.
Similarly with who to drop in on stream with video and switch...

And I was excited for a sec thinking this is a 3-hour-long secret shopper episode.
To be honest I probably would have gutted the case and reassembled the PC from the beginning after seeing that that mess of cables fall out the side it would be alot faster than checking cables individually and any physical sabotage would be easily noticeable.

It took me longer to research rgb compatibility than it did researching the actually pc specs and components.... and I still screwed up the RGB 😂😂😂
Last time I was this early my script scalped twelve 3070's
I set up a bot to buy and return rtx 3080s so that they are always in the middle of RMA and they never go back into circulation so no one could get their hands on it plus I'm able to buy a hundred of them with just enough money to buy one because it's constantly getting refunded Andre purchasing another one then sending it back to RMA so they're not in the market

I think for the next tech support challenge then need to tune in to the people troubleshooting and allow the watchers to listen to the thought processes of the troubleshooters. Kristopher looked like he was doing a lot of talking to the camera which would have been really neat to hear.
