This is the Clemson Version of Florida State’s fall from grace. Stubbornness, hubris, and incompetence has taken this program to the bottom 1/4 of the ACC. Similar to what happened to FSU under Jimbo. Not the same! Similar. The next 4 years are going to be rough to watch, but hopefully ticket prices will come down 🤷♂️. The run is over. This has been apparent since we got boat raced by LSU. And with the evolving landscape of college football, who knows what will happen next. I have enjoyed the leadership we have had for our run, but it didn’t evolve. It was a “build the impossible against the establishment ” mentality and it worked… until we became the establishment, and didn’t know how to maintain momentum. The elites on top have to work differently than those clawing their way to the top. Of course, nothing lasts forever either… just ask Nebraska fans, Illinois fans, and Army fans. Those were world beaters in their time, and then time moved on without them.
If Clemson can get a coach like Prime right now before a big fall and a couple more bad years while the Clemson brand is still hot to recruits you get bounced right back to the mountain top, but there's only one Prime-time and I don't think Dabos leaving anytime soon.
I think factors such as the NIL, and portal players are changing the entire college football landscape, and teams like clempson, Alabama, and many others are simply caught in the web.
I understand that Dabo looks foolish for his takes on NIL and transfer portal and it has hurt his team but Clemson is stacked with highly recruited players. I think personnel thing mainly positions coaches is what dragging Clemson down this year. These players don’t look fully developed and under coached this year.
I came in to that game yesterday knowing we were going to lose. Predictable play calling, no push from the O-line, etc. Same issues every week. With that being said I do expect Dabo to do some evaluations and make some big changes this off-season. To what extent, I don't know. Some great starts would be replacing Tyler Grisham with Jeff Scott as WR coach and let Garrett Riley fully implement his offense. Getting a proven DC wouldn't be a terrible idea either
Defense, especially our run defense, was one of the things I felt good about early in the season. These huge runs we've given up lately are concerning....in addition to all of the other issues on offense.
At this point man you can't say make big changes. That's been done. We brought in a good oc and then got the same play calling on the field. At this point the only excuse left is the head coach. I don't wanna see Dabo leave but he needs to take a step back and figure out what in his approach is causing this.

This problem is much bigger than the Xs and Os, coaches, the QB situation or any of the common things that result in these situations. There is a core, fundamental problem within the minds and culture at Clemson. Those on the inside are it and what was once used as a good thing has now become a monumental problem. When players and coaches are content with a free ride, Clemson Land daily and an every thing at your finger tips way of being, we have a problem that there’s no easy solution to.
Yeah I think Dabo has lost that edge that got him there. Got comfortable, huge salary, climbed the hill and thus....lost that edge or chip on his shoulder. Not talking about the media and fans getting on his nerves.... talking about in doing his job. At least that's what I see. I could be wrong. At this point, this year's team is getting harder to watch than both seasons with DJU. It is virtually impossible to win a game when your own offense is helping the opponent score. And why is it Clemson's offense can only score 2 TDs a game? Throw in a field goal or two and that is it. No matter what Power 5 team we play, they can hardly score. At this time, I'm scared to see what the final score will be next weekend against Notre Dame. 😞 The only way we have a chance to win is if the defense plays "lights out" and the offense can go one game without a turnover. Which will be very hard to do.
This should be a day of celebration- Dabo achieved his goal, he said he was going to intentionally lose some games to get rid of some of the fans that question him, and he did- mission accomplished.
I feel bad for Clemson fans. As a Miami fan, I know how hard it is to watch your team fall from the best team in CFB to a mediocre team. (And sometimes worse). Try to remember that the gap between Championships for UGA was 40 years. I'm not saying Clemson has fallen that far yet, but you get what I mean I'm sure.

100% coaching. Most teams would love to have Clemson's roster. These guys aren't getting developed. Even the NFL guys on roster are regressing. Stop hiring nobody's with no experience. This off-season will be huge for Dabo, needs to let friends, and underlings go. Plus Georgia is Game 1 for 2024.

I agree...the game yesterday broke him...did you see him literally threw up his hands when Cade blew the 3rd and long after the timeout...he went to Riley like...call whatever it's over...I am not a Cade hater but Dabo, if he continues to play Cade making the same mistakes week after week and not substitute him...Cade will get worst not better...I'm not saying Helms or Tyson will do any better but he has to give them a shot...perhaps sitting will give Cade what he needs--at minimum he will see other QB's executing the same plays and how they progress during a game...or even see how the defense rotates which is something you can't mimic with film...his Pride is what is keeping him from making the change...just as with DJ...OSU has built in 3 series sub and bring in the 5 star freshman...then bring back DJ...and DJ does better after the sub...just sub him and see what happens, even if you sub him just to have a talk with him about a previous play....
I didn't graduate from Clemson, but I have followed them since I was a kid. They're in a funk, and Dabo needs to coach himself now. They've got to get with it and start building Oline's that give even a partial quarterback a chance. Our quarterbacks have been running and throwing scared. It's been a long while since we had a Oline that was one of the best result producers. Even Trevor had to think quickly and be smart. I hope we can pull something together before the chickens come home to roost. So to speak.
When your QB has to throw it 50 times you have a major problem. No constancy with the run because of the o-line. That last drive once again showed how the receivers struggle to get separation. All that considered you get a young QB who tries to force plays because he knows there is no alternative.
you have correctly stated the problem, the O- line, no holes for runners, no time for Cade to find recievers. We need Brown with his speed to get separaration, but that takes 3 seconds or more, and line gives Cade 2 or less.
Well stated my friend. I still believe in Dabo, but his weakness is his love for the young men that are willing to play for him. Their lives are changed for the better IMO, which is more important than any win/loss. Most of us ol' diehard fans appreciate what he has done and are more than willing to wait and watch him work. We also realize that when CBV left the program (along with Tony) that there would be pain. What team loses 2 great coordinators and just keeps going (save Bama I guess)? Nah - I'm good with Dabo. Other teams need to get Clemson NOW, because Dabo will find a way to put them back in their place.

Ya, I can relate to a team going south... FSU lost its 31 straight bowl appearance in 2018. Then we went on to have a 4-year streak of not making a bowl. You guys will be down for several years in recruiting, wins, viewership, a lot of things are going to change at Clemson.
Before the season started, i had them losing 3 regular season games so they are on target. The problem is that they might lose more than 3. Gotta recruit top 5 classes consistently to fix this.

They aren't the only football team in the NCAA in the US to have gone down this road. Heck, Clemson been there before and will be again. It happens. It happens. It happens. I've been around a long time. I've seen it, lived it with Clemson. Dabo Sweeney has done unimaginable things at Clemson. Great success. After not going to the CFP last year, and they won't be going this year. They were expected to go. Now there's fans talking about replacing Sweeney. Really ? The fan base is that shallow ? Those people place a black eye on themselves number one, but also Dabo Sweeney and all the football players, the athletic dept., and finally the University itself. Trust in the University and how they run things from the top down. Dabo is just as disappointed as anyone about this season, but he is the one responsible. He will get this figured out concerning the slip in his program. He runs a CFP potential program. But for what he's proven in the past, you can't run the man out of town. Staying at the top is the hardest thing to do. Everyone in the ACC and outside the conference is gunning for Clemson. Remember when Fla State came into conference? They brought the rest of the conference teams up to their standard. It took time but it happened. Clemson is the best example. Hang in there fans. It's a rough patch, but it will get figured out. It may take a little time too.
Yeah maybe so but my Crimson Tide is by far the most consistent blueblood at winning championships and having dynasties, they've been doing it since the 1920s, and after BEAR BRYANT it took BAMA 12 years to get another one , then 15 years after that before SABAN, sounds like long waits, it is but how long has it been for the other most notable bluebloods, like USC, ND, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Michigan, etc etc, much longer just saying, as a lifelong diehard BAMA fan I just had to point that out, I know if BAMA gets down they always get back to winning championships tbh I'm not so sure about Clemson, most of their history has been average or worse and if Dabo doesn't step up to modern football like using the transfer portal etc yall may stay subpar RTR
It’s certainly not on the fans. We are just vocal about the realities of it all. There are no holes to run through, so the worst offensive line we’ve seen in years coupled with receivers that can’t get separation, it’s no wonder that we can’t move the ball. I. That lays the blame on Austin and Grisham. I don’t know if anybody else has seen this, but our running game has not been the same since Shipley and Spiller had that dust up on the sidelines. Hiring alumni is all warm and fuzzy, but I don’t think any of them have any business coaching our program.

Wanted !..... an O-line that is in the Top 25 in college football. Clemsons O- line and lame play calling has been sub par since TL & Etiennes last season. ..... ( remember how difficult it was for Etienne to run the ball his last season at Clemson compared to his earlier seasons ? )
I don’t understand all the hate towards Dabo. Everyone praises Deion Sanders for running his team his way but when Dabo does it, he’s humiliated in the media by the same people who praise Deion. Dabo runs his program with player loyalty as the top priority, as it would turn out, to a fault
50 Clemson passes compared to 20 by NC State, but let the obtuse people keep wondering what one of the main issues are. SMH. So much has to go off perfectly on a pass or nearly perfectly. Defense lining up and coverage assignments being favorable. Good snap. Good pass protection. Good read by QB. Maybe an addition blitz pickup and check down. Good throw by QB. Catch by receiver and for a big play....good blocking after catch. So much to get right when we rarely get anything right in the passing game. It's an offensive weakness for Clemson...but hey... let's improve things by doing MORE of what our weakness is. Bizarre AF.
Dabo will get it straightened out. Even Bobby Bowden had a few bad years during his dynasty. There are A LOT worse coaches out there fellas. Don't ask me how I know. You may just need a qb change and a couple of receivers.
The simple truth is we are a program in deep decline, just a couple of years ago we were national champions and the model university for football talent in the entire country. However the price for that kind of success is ETERNAL VIGILANCE and that is where Dabo dropped the ball, $11 million a year will do that to a man. This is on him and him alone an unless he is fired he alone can fix it and the only fix is creating/recruiting absolute monsters again on defense and offense that absolutely dominate and control the line of scrimmage making opposing teams fear us again as they used too. Can it be done twice, yes but it is highly unlikely as lightening rarely strikes the same place/team twice in a generation.
It doesn't have to strike twice in the same location. Lightning can strike miles away from its previous location, but still cause major damage to the same place. Coach just needs to do things differently and can have the same success. What was done before can happen again if the work is put in.

Its not magic, or lack of talent, its bad hiring or failing to hire. Street may have not been the best oc, but as a qb coach he helped deshaun, kelly and trevor be playoff qbs. FSU fan coming in peace, but Clemson fans are in straight-up denial right now. From the outside looking in, your program culture is fundamentally broken. This is what happened to Jimbo Fisher, among other things that were of his own doing. And you can make all the excuses you want, but if your culture is truly broken, you *DON’T COME BACK FROM THAT*. The root of THAT problem is at the top, so yes, Dabo can absolutely be fired or resign over that. I’d be surprised if it happened this year, but he’s dangerously close to losing the locker room. And not only does he have to continue to recruit at a high level, he now (likely) has to dive into the transfer portal while also making sure he doesn’t lose key players to the same portal. That’s a war on three fronts. It can snowball quickly.
Why not bench Cade when they did DJ? Because it's evident now the problem isn't the individual player, but rather the coaching and development. We have elite players in house (forget the portal, even - they're here NOW), and they're still playing at the level they were in high school. It's all coaching, and until Dabo abandons this nepotistic hiring trend and externally acquires the best available coaches, we're stuck.

I didn't graduate from Clemson, but I have followed them since I was a kid. They're in a funk, and Dabo needs to coach himself now. They've got to get with it and start building Oline's that give even a partial quarterback a chance. Our quarterbacks have been running and throwing scared. It's been a long while since we had a Oline that was one of the best result producers. Even Trevor had to think quickly and be smart. I hope we can pull something together before the chickens come home to roost. So to speak.

When your QB has to throw it 50 times you have a major problem. No constancy with the run because of the o-line. That last drive once again showed how the receivers struggle to get separation. All that considered you get a young QB who tries to force plays because he knows there is no alternative.
you have correctly stated the problem, the O- line, no holes for runners, no time for Cade to find recievers. We need Brown with his speed to get separaration, but that takes 3 seconds or more, and line gives Cade 2 or less.
Well stated my friend. I still believe in Dabo, but his weakness is his love for the young men that are willing to play for him. Their lives are changed for the better IMO, which is more important than any win/loss. Most of us ol' diehard fans appreciate what he has done and are more than willing to wait and watch him work. We also realize that when CBV left the program (along with Tony) that there would be pain. What team loses 2 great coordinators and just keeps going (save Bama I guess)? Nah - I'm good with Dabo. Other teams need to get Clemson NOW, because Dabo will find a way to put them back in their place.

Ya, I can relate to a team going south... FSU lost its 31 straight bowl appearance in 2018. Then we went on to have a 4-year streak of not making a bowl. You guys will be down for several years in recruiting, wins, viewership, a lot of things are going to change at Clemson.
Before the season started, i had them losing 3 regular season games so they are on target. The problem is that they might lose more than 3. Gotta recruit top 5 classes consistently to fix this.

An old saying....you can't throw out the baby with the bath water. Clemson football is definitely having a very puzzling season. They aren't the only football team in the NCAA in the US to have gone down this road. Heck, Clemson been there before and will be again. It happens. It happens. It happens. Just ask Alabama after Bear Bryant. Florida State after Bobby Bowden and after Jimbo for that matter. Ask Georgia before Kirby Smart showed up. LSU, Ohio State, Michigan...I can go on & on. I've been around a long time. I've seen it, lived it with Clemson. Dabo Sweeney has done unimaginable things at Clemson. Great success. After not going to the CFP last year, and they won't be going this year. They were expected to go. Now there's fans talking about replacing Sweeney. Really ? The fan base is that shallow ? Those people place a black eye on themselves number one, but also Dabo Sweeney and all the football players, the athletic dept., and finally the University itself. Trust in the University and how they run things from the top down. Dabo is just as disappointed as anyone about this season, but he is the one responsible. He will get this figured out concerning the slip in his program. He runs a CFP potential program. But for what he's proven in the past, you can't run the man out of town. Staying at the top is the hardest thing to do. Everyone in the ACC and outside the conference is gunning for Clemson. Remember when Fla State came into conference? They brought the rest of the conference teams up to their standard. It took time but it happened. Clemson is the best example. Hang in there fans. It's a rough patch, but it will get figured out. It may take a little time too.
Yeah maybe so but my Crimson Tide is by far the most consistent blueblood at winning championships and having dynasties, they've been doing it since the 1920s, and after BEAR BRYANT it took BAMA 12 years to get another one , then 15 years after that before SABAN, sounds like long waits, it is but how long has it been for the other most notable bluebloods, like USC, ND, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Michigan, etc etc, much longer just saying, as a lifelong diehard BAMA fan I just had to point that out, I know if BAMA gets down they always get back to winning championships tbh I'm not so sure about Clemson, most of their history has been average or worse and if Dabo doesn't step up to modern football like using the transfer portal etc yall may stay subpar RTR

It’s certainly not on the fans. We are just vocal about the realities of it all. There are no holes to run through, so the worst offensive line we’ve seen in years coupled with receivers that can’t get separation, it’s no wonder that we can’t move the ball. I. That lays the blame on Austin and Grisham. I don’t know if anybody else has seen this, but our running game has not been the same since Shipley and Spiller had that dust up on the sidelines. Hiring alumni is all warm and fuzzy, but I don’t think any of them have any business coaching our program.

Wanted !..... an O-line that is in the Top 25 in college football. Clemsons O- line and lame play calling has been sub par since TL & Etiennes last season. ..... ( remember how difficult it was for Etienne to run the ball his last season at Clemson compared to his earlier seasons ? )

50 Clemson passes compared to 20 by NC State, but let the obtuse people keep wondering what one of the main issues are. SMH. So much has to go off perfectly on a pass or nearly perfectly. Defense lining up and coverage assignments being favorable. Good snap. Good pass protection. Good read by QB. Maybe an addition blitz pickup and check down. Good throw by QB. Catch by receiver and for a big play....good blocking after catch. So much to get right when we rarely get anything right in the passing game. It's an offensive weakness for Clemson...but hey... let's improve things by doing MORE of what our weakness is. Bizarre AF.

Dabo will get it straightened out. Even Bobby Bowden had a few bad years during his dynasty. There are A LOT worse coaches out there fellas. Don't ask me how I know.

The simple truth is we are a program in deep decline, just a couple of years ago we were national champions and the model university for football talent in the entire country. However the price for that kind of success is ETERNAL VIGILANCE and that is where Dabo dropped the ball, $11 million a year will do that to a man. This is on him and him alone an unless he is fired he alone can fix it and the only fix is creating/recruiting absolute monsters again on defense and offense that absolutely dominate and control the line of scrimmage making opposing teams fear us again as they used too. Can it be done twice, yes but it is highly unlikely as lightening rarely strikes the same place/team twice in a generation.
It doesn't have to strike twice in the same location. Lightning can strike miles away from its previous location, but still cause major damage to the same place. Coach just needs to do things differently and can have the same success. What was done before can happen again if the work is put in.
Dabo will get another couple of years, he’ll either figure it out or be gone.

Its not magic, or lack of talent, its bad hiring or failing to hire. Street may have not been the best oc, but as a qb coach he helped deshaun, kelly and trevor be playoff qbs. We need a dedicated qb guru

FSU fan coming in peace, but Clemson fans are in straight-up denial right now. From the outside looking in, your program culture is fundamentally broken. This is what happened to Jimbo Fisher, among other things that were of his own doing. And you can make all the excuses you want, but if your culture is truly broken, you *DON’T COME BACK FROM THAT*. The root of THAT problem is at the top, so yes, Dabo can absolutely be fired or resign over that. I’d be surprised if it happened this year, but he’s dangerously close to losing the locker room. And not only does he have to continue to recruit at a high level, he now (likely) has to dive into the transfer portal while also making sure he doesn’t lose key players to the same portal. That’s a war on three fronts. It can snowball quickly.

Why not bench Cade when they did DJ? Because it's evident now the problem isn't the individual player, but rather the coaching and development. We have elite players in house (forget the portal, even - they're here NOW), and they're still playing at the level they were in high school. It's all coaching, and until Dabo abandons this nepotistic hiring trend and externally acquires the best available coaches, we're stuck.

Nearly every college team has been a loser for a long time and there can only be 1 winner each season. How many college teams in the playoff era can say they have played in 6 consecutive playoffs and been in the title game 4 times winning 2 Nattys ? I like Dabos culture and I hate the way college sports has evolved into a business and win at all costs. Thar is until uga's schedule for 23-24 was announced. Winn Dixie and Publix were on that thing, and they were HOME games!!! Expanded play-off system notwithstanding, a third consecutive national championship , the first national championship of the 12-team playoff era, is well within UGA's grasp. I would go so far as to say that the title is their's to lose. Why? Well, unlike 'Bama, UGA is currently the best professional football team in their state whereas 'Bama is the ONLY professional football team in theirs.
