Mateo Ramirez IKR I have known the same people since third grade. There is only 60(give or take) of us and Every thing is so complicated seeing as everyone always has this impression of you that you can’t get rid of and honestly with so little people plus the factor I have know everyone since third grade it is an equation for drama, gossip, toxic friendships and all kinds of other fun stuff and if I am being honest I think of most of my class mates as annoying cousins that’s how long I she know them 🤣 in conclusion schools like his aren’t the best socially :/
But well, my school is public but my class has only 18 students, while other classes have more than 20, we had 23 students in our class, but 5 students left our school for some reason
I hate that everyone thinks that all private school students are rich. A lot of us aren’t it’s just that our parents rather us have a good education than having the latest tech and holidays. Personally my parents are always trying to budget everything so that they have the money to pay for private school and I say it’s worth it.
April Oneel i agreed with you because my family aren’t that rich at all. i don’t always get what i want but when it comes to education.. my parents would do anything for it.
In the school I use to go to I had a friend who had parents working in tech , and I went to his house and oh my god. It had all the latest stuff. All Apple everything. Amazon Alexa everywhere , maid , a roomba, and stuff like that. And other kids too. They always bragged about having all the new things and shit. I was made fun of but. I use to be a public school student so they were afraid that I was gonna beat them or smthn. I always heard gossip that I always gang up on people when I’m around the rich kids. Honestly it really all depends on what school you go to. The school I go to is in Silicon Valley so pretty obvious that a lot of rich people.
I’ve gone to both, they both have ups and downs, in the end, just do good, make good chcoices and friends, and go on to do what you want to do and love in life after graduation.
VoidStarzZHD they use canes in government schools well mine do but now I'm in privet school and got AC and they don't use canes and its so good! And I'm a Chines but I don't know Chines and the government school I go to only use Chines and why need Chines if all my best friends are in this school my BFF is Chinese and she also speek English
I think this highly depends on the neighbourhood you’re from too. The difference between a public school in a violent and poor city, compared to one in a wealthy, high-end neighbourhood is drastic.
It’s true I just moved from a private school in a really low income area and now I moved to a very rich area (I’m not rich) and it’s so different with this public school it’s a really big change
I went to both, I think private schools have this thing where they have more graduates and people go on to college is because of the stricter rules they apply. You get way more freedom in public school, its almost insane the things you can get away with in public school that will get you expelled in private school
tictac92 very true. One of my friends got suspended for wearing the wrong shade of red tie and refusing to buy a new one. It’s really silly some of the rules they inforce.
I’ve been into a Private School from 1st Grade to 9th Grade, I can tell you that the way they discipline in Private School is way more stricter than the Public Schools. I had one classmate who got sent home because his hair was longer than the formal hair we usually have. I would love to be in a Private School again.😔
Well I was in a private school, and some of the students are not that wealthy like majority of the students, and we had a full scholarship😂 thanks to them
My experience in private school - we wear uniforms - most of the kids are Hispanic or Filipino - the school has this program where the tution is lowered for you if you don't made that kind of money - I get better grades and feel more comfortable around others - There are no lockers So yeah that's really it
I've been to both, and what I can almost guarantee are that the teachers in a private school care so much more for the students and seem like they actually enjoy their job. I love going to school everyday and sometimes even dread the weekend, this is the case for a lot of my friends as well. It really is shocking when you see posts from people saying that they'd rather die than go to school, or something else that goes to the same extent.
That really sucks for you, honestly, the only thing you can really do when you're in that situation is to look at the positives and keep going. wish you well :)
Blade One of them should have taught you to finish your thought. And when you're finished typing it out in a sentence, use a period at the end to let everybody know you're done.
Mckenzie Wells no it because private schools are smaller than public schools (most of the time) and so there can’t be too many students plus the government doesn’t run it. At my school there is a certain maximum amount of student in each class so all you have to do is sign up before it is full
I went to a private school for 8 years of my life. I can say without a doubt that these schools gave me a much better education, as sometimes I would ask one of my public school friends a somewhat intelligent question only to be surprised that they were never taught such things in public school. The downside to private school is, of course, the cost. In the end, both types of schools use their students for money, unfortunately.
@@excalibur5118 some even have established relationships with top universities. It’s absolutely true that they set you up better in life. 8.5% of students go to private school, yet 40% of Harvard & Yale’s incoming freshmen class of 2025 were from private schools.
I don't know why everyone forgets to mention that Bill Gates dropped of a master's class! Havard Business School...he didn't drop out of an undergraduate class!!!
In my opinion, having come from both a public (high school) and a private (elementary / middle school) institution, it really depends on where you live. Some private schools are really well off in wealthy areas and are expected to go to Ivy Leagues, but there are also some public schools in wealthy areas where they are also expected to go to Ivy Leagues or brand name colleges such as USC, UCLA, etc. This is the same vice versa, in that some private schools in not-so-well-off areas are (technically) just expected to graduate and may go on to community colleges or state colleges (not saying that’s necessarily a bad thing) and same thing with public schools in not-so-wealthy areas. In my experience, I’ve had friends from private school (elementary - middle school) who went off to private high school only to go to state schools or community colleges, while my public high school friends are currently going to NYU, UCLA, UC Berkeley, USC, Ivy Leagues, etc. It’s not to say that where you went to high school is the only factor which would determine your success in the future (I’m stating in where you go to college per se), but how you utilized your school resources, took all the APs and IBs, and received great grades and SAT scores among other things.
That's because the people from public school are usually lower income. This makes them qualify for a lot of government grants and financial aid so that they can afford a high-prestige university.
Yeah, that’s how mine was too. We once had like 20 fights in one day. It was called river view and we literally called it river zoo because it was wild. Lol
Outlaw7502 Public basically means really posh school that you stay at and pay for, private school is what you pay for but don't live/stay at, and state schools are government run and you dont have to pay
I've gone to private school, public school, and an online school (homeschool). Here are some thoughts on each. *Public Elementary School* - I went to the city school from 1st to 5th grade and thought it was fine. I loved reading & learning and never had trouble picking up on new material. I, of course, never knew anything different so was perfectly happy. *Private Middle School* - Because my mother was concerned about the environment the city's public middle school was infamous for, she transferred me and my siblings to a fancy (non-religiously affiliated) private school for when I went into the 6th grade. (I was one of 5 black students in my grade of 80.) Coincidentaly, when I went there the school had just decided to grant all the student with personal MacBook Airs to be used in correlation with their curriculum. I loved it, as did most of my new friends, and the teachers were able to test new methods because of the added tech within the room. Speaking of which, the teacher's entire presence was completely new to me, they taught at their own pace, not the government's, and were able to incorporate fun projects and such that related back to the subject. I really loved the school and valued what it was able to teach me. I stayed until 8th grade. *Online High School* - At this point I'd become very involved with the sport of gymnastics. To spend more time training I left the private school for a private online school (so still very expensive) that was accessed via the internet. It was alright. I was able to spend hours at the gym and not worry about a demanding school schedule. The material the school taught though was crap. Each lesson entailed a power point like a thing of info with small side exercises and then a quiz. There was a one a week "class" with a teacher for each subject but it was only a review of the lessons. I hated it. But I kept with it as my gymnastics career expanded. In 10th grade, a series of injuries convinced me to stop gymnastics. It was the middle of the year however so I spent the rest of my online school days at home almost all the time. It sucked and my grades began to falter as I lost the motivation to make myself go through "power points" and instead messed around online. *Public High School* - For my remaining two years of high school my mother was presented with the options of returning to the private school I've previously gone to or returning to the public school I'd gone to. She chose public because she didn't believe the private school could offer me anything substantial that the public school (highly regarded despite its rough middle school) couldn't, and she was preparing for the college expenses of me and my siblings. I missed the forward-minded teaching, teaching tech, and other luxuries the private school gave but the public school is fine. Keeping up with my private school friends tells me that much of the material is the same. *Finial Thoughts* - I prefer private school. Obviously. But it's not a fair competition. I think both private and public will do the same if the person works hard enough. It's just a little more comfortable for the private student. And online school sucked for me. I'd say that if you find a good program (I only realized mine wasn't in hindsight) and could be very self-motivated (I'm not a great example of this xD), then it'd be fine. Really, it's personal preference. I know people who've to be in private school, public school, or homeschooled their entire lives and they all seem pretty satisfied and well off for their futures.
My entire school district started this program 2-3 years ago called One 2 One where each student has their own iPad Air for the duration of the school year (high schoolers get a regular sized one and middle schoolers get a mini), so as time goes along and technology becomes even more readily available and necessary, things like this will be the norm (I’m in public school), this is my second year with the iPad as a junior
Just because someone goes to private school it doesn’t mean they come from money. At my school more than half of the students receive some sort of financial aid.
For Blacks and Hispanics private school is a major pay off! Likewise for minorities who attend suburban or charter schools there are higher graduation rates and college attendance! For minorities private school means becoming part of the middle class and staying there!
fredrika27 uh I'm Hispanic well my parents are born In Mexico and I was born here in the US so I don't know what I am but I say I'm Hispanic so I go to a private school also it's not a major pay off for us
Why do so many people think that just because your from a private school means your rich? I go to one and I'm not at all rich. I have friends that go to one and they're not rich either, and they also live in a shady neighborhood since that's where are school was built. Sure maybe we have a few rich kids but not everyone is rich at private school. Edit: it’s funny how some people think this is an essay and not a RUclips comment section. Just cuz I’m from a private school doesn’t mean that every time I text I write like Its going to be graded. This is the internet, proper grammar is not needed here lol
Private school in my area is very expensive, going up in the high 20,000s and even 30,000. We usually assume those students come from a good family background because of it.
It has in part to do with stereotypes abt priv schools and another part to do with accessibility. If the stereotypes about priv schools are that they're better bc there's more money being directly put into it, then someone, who for instance, had to rely on food banks for a certain amount of time during their childhood, would be inclined to believe that it's unattainable. The other problem is how many ppl are in reach of a priv school. For example, one could be of low-middle class and have a school like a town over but if you don't have a reliable mode of transpo, getting your child to school would be a challenge
Well, still, most of private school's kids come from good money family. And "rich" is all about point of few, yea, you may say that you are not rich but for some people may say that you rich.
In Finland there is not private and public schools There is just schools They're completely free and school serves lunch. We don't use school uniforms We have world's best education system and as a student I can say that I'm happy to get educated in Finland 2 of 3 students continue to college. Idk why I'm going to comment this Maybe I just want you to get jealous
Ronza the bookworm The American Education System is dumb in many ways, I’d say you got lucky if you actually get thought things that will help in your every day life
Finland cares about the well-being of citizens, America cares about money. That's why your education system is better. You guys make an attempt to better society, where as America values money over the betterment of its citizens.
Nah, at my private school, we are not allowed to do anything like that, a kid got murdered when he did some bad things outside of school so dont make jokes about that, it's really serious because the kid who died used to go to my boxing club.
this happened to my friend lol she went to a bad school so they trusted no one with knives where as my school literally allows u to bring knives in all the time
Add 3000 to that 297 and that's how many students there are in my public school with an estimated 40-50 students each sister and 25-35 sections per grade.
Education is needed ... But the system is what needs to be changed. Up until now a high school senior I've realized it's not learning I hate... It the way the institution is ran. Coming from a 3.8 GPA student
Jamal 4K TM When I was in HS, the pace was too ridiculous. We were taught for maybe 5 class periods then got a unit test, a huge one. The system only allowed kids with great learning abilities to be successful. I didn't have much trouble because I believe I'm great at school, but it explains why my school's ACT average was 17 when I went there.
I feel the problem is that if you slow the pace then people with great learning abilities are left out, whereas if you speed up the pace then people with lesser learning abilities are left out. Either way speeding or slowing the pace wont help.
3.8 is really really horrible. i had a 4.0 gpa and was top 1% in the nation for ACT (33) and I did not get into a single university at your age. I applied to a dozen.
Aznwarlord7 This is false. A 3.8 is great and will get you into tons and tons of schools. It is hard to believe your story just simply due to the fact that you said you applied to dozens. A 4.0 and a 33 on the ACT was better than my sister and she was accepted into Stanford. Myself, I had a 3.9 and a 31 on the ACT and got a full ride to Iowa State. Very hard to believe your story.
Jesus Christ you guys really need to calm down, this guy was just stating his opinion and you start throwing around sentences like "I hate all you homeschoolers". This guy said nothing to offend you. It's just his opinion.
I have always been in an private school all my life (I'm in the 7th grade currently) and I hate it when people say we're rich cause, I'm not, at least for me, like why though
Yea I've been in private school all my life except this year (7th grade). But where I live a public school (called government school here) is usually more prestigious. And while most of my current classmates are rich, my private school classmates were all middle class, including me.
As a public school student I get annoyed whenever people degrade public schools. Every guy I’ve dated that went to a private school has patronized public schools and said I should be going to a private school. I’m aware that they do not represent the entire private school population, but I definitely feel some discrimination against public school students. In the end, no matter where you go, if you try hard and do a lot of things you can end up going to a great college. A student who goes to my school, which ranks around #150 out of 300 in NJ, can end up going to Harvard just like a kid from the #1 school in NJ can. In the end, the fact that we don’t have the money to pay for expensive private school tuition does not mean we do not have the potential to attend great schools.
Katnissjul my personal experience with public schools is horrible and I go to a private school and it's just a censored version which is better but you gotta realize people who have had experiences like me trying to help others with problems they could encounter
It's also completely ignorant of someone to generically say that *any* private school is automatically higher quality than *any* public school. In fact, a good student that uses a school's resources to their advantage is going to likely do fairly well. Parents are probably the biggest factor that determine a student's future college options. Harvard is such an interesting discussion. It shines bright thanks to brand appeal that this entity has purposely aimed to polish and preserve with its global marketing efforts to retain its perceived elite reputation in the world. We could go on and on about how this school has created a kind of unusual reputation snobbery that may really not be all it's cracked up to be. No matter, that school attracts a kind of student that's a go getter type that would probably do well in any structured place that is chock loaded with plentiful resources. For fun, they ought to do some crazy experiment with their coveted education by introducing blind lottery admissions to determine if the education itself is as great as they claim it to be. No matter, Harvard has one of the biggest endowments of any private college, and their graduates excel thanks to multiple factors. However, there are a ton of individual programs at colleges all over the place that are top notch. The *college admissions game* is probably going to be easier for the student in the private school, since these schools have a strong incentive to build their own reputation by ensuring that their grads do well. Public schools have a slightly easier time netting money. Saying that since it seems that college prep for a private school student is always in mind like from preschool. Private school students tend to have parents that are greatly invested in their child's education. They're not paying for school just to throw money away. I have been shocked at how ignorant some students in public high schools have been about the college admissions game. I just wanted to hit the floor thinking about how unprepared they were compared to some other student that's got a lengthy academic and extracurricular resume in place to nab those select college spots they want. There's all of these academic institutional cultural things that a lot of public school kids don't know. That hurts their college options. It really hurts their scholarship and funding options that the typical private school student has in place thanks to their parents. I can get really long winded on this topic, lol.
My public school is actually rated higher than the private schools in my state. My public school also has only 240 students. I have also had classes where there were as few as 7 people, which creates a more personal learning experience. Overall, I found myself disagreeing with a lot of things mentioned here.
The low amount of students probably explains that. From what I've seen, schools with a low number of students are usually more pleasant than schools with thousands of students.
@KCintheHeavens most American public schools are like that too, mine is a special school that you have to take a test to get into, but it's public bc you don't have to pay. i guess i just got lucky
IKR!!!! Like y’all rich kids bragging about your rich parents when I’m here enjoying the basic things in life in a two room apartment with my mom and sister,
Private school - Uniforn - Teachers really care ❤ - Expensive af - Events/Dances by students a lot - Our events are expensive like always involve buying and costume - Lots of security with guards
Search up XQ super school project and you'll see what needs to be revamped with he public school system. Trusting 65+ aged people to decide what's best for children in which they have no relation to and are voted in by corporations doesn't make any sense anymore
public schools in america were indeed rigged for the industrial era society to prepare children for life as a factory worker and has since been the perfect testing bed for all kinds of state and nation wide political and social experiments over the decades
I went to my profile on steam, which has a csgo background, and the teacher said I was on a “gun website.” This happened AFTER SCHOOL when I was hanging out outside.
Gusty exactly... It's an outdated system that's been very stagnant for the life of a child and future today. And even though not everyone in life is going to be as successful as the other , all these schools that have tried different methods of schooling ALWAYS prove better than a public school
Public schools in my country is so different from private schools. Public school students have wayyyyyyy more assignments than private school students. And in public schools, students just take notes and remember stuff the teacher taught without really understanding it. I’m glad to be in a private school
I'm currently in a public school and really enjoy my time in it! There are a lot of dumb mfs and the fire alarm goes off at least once a week because of kids smoking, but honestly? It's not half bad. Nearly all of my teachers care about their students' learning. I actually look forward to going to school most of the time.
Blorp Naah but the public schools are like eton Shrewsbury Harrow Winchester and stuff so the guys right trust me I would know cos I go to one of these schools
AllAway the commas are dividing up each of the clauses, and I don’t think you can read. Are you one of the many I’m referring to? Also, get your facts right if you’re going to attempt to insult me, as it was not racism. Racism is where you discriminate against a race. I didn’t do that, I was generalising using a prejudice stereotype. I doubt you understood all of that, so I wish you lots of luck, you are going to need it.👍🏼
Oh enlighten me All-know er, i have seen the light that you have bestowed upon my insufferable speck of a brain, I have awakened! However, my knight in shining armor, i'm afraid you have been taught... wrongly. Have you forgotten that after "dumb Americans watching this" there should've been a comma? Because there are four main clauses in one sentence with only one conjunction! That must've been horrible for your graceful brain-fullness. A tragedy! In addition to that, your wise ass highness , you technically did discriminate against a race. After all, stereotype leads to racism right? What is racism? Believing one to be superior to another race. Just what you did :) Oh and my sincerest of thanks for your wish of luck, i'm mostly honored, your humble majestic brain !
AllAway I didn’t say I was superior to Americans, and for you comma madness, the true reality of commas in the English language is to: provide the writer with freedom to express his views in the ways he feels necessary to. If you want to talk about racism and prejudice, your typing with hints that are referring to medieval times which is a stereotype of what ‘dumb’ Americans have on brits. Finally to wrap up, there is a difference between racism and stereotypes (prejudice). You better get googling, you got a lot to learn little guy. 👍🏼😉😂😂😂
Firstly first, i'm not 'little guy', it's 'little girl'. Oh and without the little. Secondly second, you implied that you are superior to Americans (By calling them dumb). Mr. Smart, are you trying to create your own language?? Can I be part of it??!! So, can, this, be, accepted?? Oh and my typing, it's just part of me. Actually, I love Brits, i find them cute. Ooo, Mr wise old ass.. am I wrong if I say that stereotypes is when you generalize an idea of one group or race of people to draw an inaccurate conclusion or assumption, and that racism is believing one to be superior to another race?? Dang it, i'm so stupid!!! What is the correct definition then?? Feed me your knowledge !
I went to a private school for a while and that was when I was bullied and singled out the most. It has a more disciplined culture which I like and there were almost absolutely no misbehavior incidents which I liked though, so learning was reaching its potential
I went to both (public for elementary and soon high and private for middle). And honestly, it all really depends with what you experience and what school you go to. For example, I *hated* my private school since I got bullied there multiple times, and got ignored by 90% of my classmates especially when I was new there (it’s very cliquey in that school, seriously, by 5th grade [since it was a k-8 school] they already have cliques formed). But when I was in public elementary, the students were more warmer and friendly (especially to new students), there was less bullying, and there was a lot of amazing teachers. Just because I hated my private school doesn’t mean all of them stink. As I said, it all comes down to *your* experience :) So in all honesty, none of them are better. Even if private school has a smaller class, doesn’t mean it’ll be easier or better (because I’ve had my share of bad teachers). Even if you go to public school, doesn’t guarantee you won’t get bullied because honestly, bullying can happen anywhere, if you don’t get bullied, that’s just luck. None of them are better in my opinion since they’re so different from each other and they’re all not the same each area either. It’s like comparing Apple to oranges. People might like the private schools in their area and that’s fine but people might prefer public more in their area like me and that’s fine too. But if I had to choose which one is better nationwide, I’d say none since I only know how this and that school are in one state out of 49 others and one town out of so many other towns out there.
You've been in both Private and Public Schools but yet your English teachers never thought you to never put *MORE or MOST* to a word that you'll add *ER or EST* for example : *" Most prettiest *" did your teachers use that kind of grammar ?
Rainbow Ombre Same for me too, I went to a Public school for elementary, it was good for me until 3rd and 5th hit me with a brick in the face. Private school is good too, but mostly some people ignore you, like at the first day, I sat in the boys table, and there was a girls table, no one told me. (also this is for my middle school)
Honestly as long as u have a great teacher ur fine in a public school. But I have come to notice that in public schools teachers arnt as good as private ones. But overall it depends on the teacher and how well u can learn
Xx_BLUE _xX public school teachers aren’t necessarily worse. In fact, public school teachers are required to get certification teachers as opposed to private school teachers who don’t need certifications (and on average private school teachers are paid less). but I do agree that the quality of the teacher matters most
Xx_BLUE _xX I think public school teachers are worse. I only went to public school for a year, and im back in private now. But my mother said she never had a parent teacher conference at all that year, and feel as though they cant focus on the students individually. In my current school we have had those, and an evening where our parents came in school, going by our schedule, and figuring out what we were learning in class. The teachers even told our parents to sign up for the remind app, so they can know about missed assignments or hw. I feel like my school cares more, and they really want our parents involved in our education. Sorry for the long and late reply!
Xx_BLUE _xX Nah dawg. Some private school teachers are beyond terrible. Getting a tenure in private school is very easy though because the demand for private school teachers isn’t as high as catholic or private schools. So yeah, basically nothing gets done about bad teachers in private school.
Around the early 1970s Finland outlawed private school tuition fees. This meant that many private schools shut down, and those that still exist don't charge fees to parents. It also means that almost every Finnish child attends a public school. What has happened is that rich families are instead pouring their money into the PUBLIC system to ensure that their children have the best possible educational resources available to them. This works, but it also means that _poor_ children have access to these same resources! The Finnish system means that the rich are helping to fund education for everyone's kids, rich, poor and in-between. Rich parents cannot afford to simply let poor kids fail because they are attending the same school as their own children. In order to help their own rich kids, they _have_ to also help poor children. The social benefit is that rich children also attend school with poor children and they become friends. This allows them to have a better understanding of how poor families live, and when these rich and privileged kids grow up to become influential leaders, they think twice before screwing over the poor. In 1975 50% of Fins went on to study at senior high school or tertiary education. This means that the other 50% dropped out at the end of compulsory junior high school. Today over 85% of Fins stay in school or go onto tertiary education. Doesn't this cost the Finnish government a lot of money? Yes it does. But the Fins are happy to pay it as they see spending money on education as a SOCIAL INVESTMENT. They understand that there's much to gain from having a better educated and more highly skilled workforce, which in turn leads to improved prosperity and general happiness. And of course, it helps to reduce poverty. :)
The only problem is that while poverty might be reduced, the bar for what is considered "wealthy" will be lowered in the process. If you're not only paying for your kids, but also the kids of other people, you aren't going to stay rich for long. Many people who are considered rich by Scandinavian standards live similarly to the middle, or occasionally upper middle-class Americans.
"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs." Easy enough to do in a country with a homogeneous population of 5.5 million and a strict immigration policy. Get back to us when you open your borders as your neighbors have done.
Only problem I can see with private schools being banned is that the US is a whole lot more heterogeneous. There are going to be people arguing it's against their rights, gerrymandering will be heavy unless laws are put to defend against that and even then you have to look at the housing in certain areas because when there's a better school, realtor market goes up with or without gerrymandering. Also just getting all the laws required in a place where large majority are huge hypocrites and want unrealistic education standards + extremely low taxes instantly.
sup. i know so many people switching to public school because the education is better, and we have more freedom to express ourselves through what we love.
it depends on what your zipcode is unfortunately for public schools i live in a rich asian neighborhood and so my school is a 10/10 school where everyone takes like 4 AP classes but as long as you are self-motivated, going to a public school is fine
Here, there is no private universities in only province. In Quebec, for example, there was called the private colleges in the name of Jean-de-Brebeuf College.
I go to a private school, it’s $22000 per year but I think the main difference is I’ve been wayyy more academically challenged than I was at my previous public school. At public school everyone just wasted time and didn’t focus on the school work, a lot of them just didn’t care or try. They have much higher expectations for us at my private school. But yeah private or public, nothing will hold you back and nothing will guarantee you a good career.
You can be very advanced and still go to public schools because of honors and GT(gifted and talented) classes. I go to public school and am taking honors math.
Hailee Howard my private school I have received many internships in university and I’m taking all ap classes I private schools have more connections with universities. Thanks to that I’m attending UCLA soon. Also universities prefer athletes from private schools. No hate tho and congrats on being in honors
The honors classes in Private Schools are often more challenging and harder to get into, it's just higher standards. So honors in public school could be compared to the standard in some private schools. Im not trying to be mean or anything congrats on honors, I'm just saying.
Sophie Smith, same i used to be naughty to get attention and when my parents went to parents evening my teacher didn’t know who I was. I left my state school (I’m British) when I was 5 and ever since has gone private. I am also in the top set in my maths class but before I was average so it has benefitted me.
Stories from private school: •a kid stuffed a lemon slice in a pipe •kids have been stealing and selling classroom supplies and clothing from lost and found through a discord chat called “ black market” that almost everyone is in
Quinn Fletcher Public schools are in a very bad shape so most people prefer private schools. But the teachers in these schools get a lot more benefit than the ones in private schools as the government pays them. The public ones are usually for frowned upon because of their bad architecture. While the fee in these schools is very less people prefer to pay a little more for the quality in private schools.
I've had a good experience with private school. I went to a super nice artsy one. All of the kids were very friendly and the teachers joked around with you like friends. It also got me into actually liking math a lot. Some of my friends were in the nearby public school and apparently all the students called our school the "hippie school". It makes me laugh because looking back on it, from an outsiders perspective everyone looked insane.
Clover Glider I don’t imagine it would teach you good social skills for the real world in a fluffy rich kid school. In the real world it’s more likely than not that everyone isn’t perfect.
Here in India , the difference between Public school and Private schools is humongous . Private schools are much expensive , the quality of education is amazing and they make you a true gentleman (most of the convent schools like mine ; St.Stephens ) . Public schools are chaos and most of them have literally nothing to be fond of
I’ve been going to a private school for 7 years, we don’t have fancy things as they list, I swear the public school nearby is nicer. The pay here is like $5000 with nearly 300 students. We really don’t have much nice things, so I mean just go to a school that benefits you and your family. Private schools aren’t that better in education compared to a public school with tons of classes to choose, private doesn’t get government funds like public does. Just do what you believes best.
That really depends on the school. Theres a public school in my area that is very good, but there are also a couple private schools that are better than the public school, but theres also one that doesn't teach evolution. It's misleading to say that private isn't better than public schools. There are better ones and arguably worse ones. It's subjective.
@@jamrgamr6249 stop braging it just makes you less believable I'm studying in a private school I went to a public school in America although they're the same private school has better sport teams and better education but my brother goes to boarding school which is easily 50 000 pounds a year my dad makes 186k a year so we need to grind to keep our family stable
Well, not for everyone so don't convince people to drop out. Let people focus on their education... also that money and that job may not be with you forever you never know when it might go...
Public schools in the Philippines will still make students wear uniforms (From my stance , priv. School uniforms are better , probably because I study in a private school idk)
In Malaysia, every school Ive seen wethere private or public all wear uniform, it's just that the private school produces the uniforms while in public schools you can buy it outside
My name is Joey How do you expect it to change? Do you expect some parents to knowingly deny their children an advantage in life by intentiinally sending them to an inferior school when they don't have to? Again, it would be unnatural. Everyone wants their child or children to be more successful than EVERY OTHER child in the WORLD. And private institutions of EVERY kind are ALWAYS superior compared to public ones, save for a military since they rely purely on numbers to be successful. You cannot beat nature, so I opt to join it and ride the wave. Having gone to both private and public schools, I would rather die than send my future children to public school.
No, that's not what I meant.. I mean that there are people like me who have to choose at a moment in their lives when they're not ready too. And there are people like my brother who already know what they want to do, but still have to learn, for them, uninteresting and useless things. But as I said this will always be a debate.
School is essentially a baby sitting organisation designed to create workers. "I want a generation of workers, not a generation of thinkers." - rockerfeller
I attended a public school and got into a really high-ranked University. Most of the people I knew were from private schools. My experience is that private schools do result in far better academic success. I was one of the top in my public school, but it took me about two years of struggling in college to catch up to almost all of those I knew who attended private schools prior to college.
I’ve been a private school kid all my life, and I have to say, it sucks. I live in New York City, which is a lot worse than the postcards make it out to be. All the public schools here are horrible, and most of the private schools are no better. If you are a family looking to move to NYC, just don’t. Anyway, I think that the education system is actually completely broken. There’s kids in every class with different dreams and futures but they are being taught the same exact thing. Also, if you suffer in one subject, that brings everything down and you’r seen as dumb. I hope that in the future, my children will wake up EXCITED to go to school because they are taught what they NEED, not stuffed with random facts they don’t.
I'm Not Me everything in this world is connected somehow, but most people don't have the brain power to learn everything so they give up and learn nothing, studying only things you need can be helpful but we will never get to our full potential that way
With all due respect, I completely disagree with you. I go to private school in NYC as well, and prior to that I spent like two years in public and I can assure you the difference is immeasurable. I go to The Dalton School, and the teachers are much more qualified than in public and the overall environment is structured to nourish the specific thing you are interested in. We have a free period during the day where you can spend time with a teacher from whatever subject you like. If you like music you can spend that time with the music teacher and get extra lessons for example. Also, schedules can be switched easily to fit your interests. On top of all that, there are less than 15 kids in a class so you're always able to express yourself. You're not just all "taught the same thing" you're taught what you NEED to know (math, english, history) and then given the time and resources to exceed and learn about the things you WANT. And there are hundreds of clubs and activities. My public school had one team playing one sport. At Dalton you have access to almost every sport (EVEN SQUASH) and you can join a team that will play in a real league. And, although there are flaws to private school, I hope everyone understands that (in my experience at least) private schools are incredibly better than public. You should honestly be a little more grateful for the opportunity you are given, because it is true that all the public schools are horrible. That doesn't mean that all private school kids will be smarter than public, but it does mean that the opportunities and resources you have access to through private shouldn't be overlooked. But remember nothing will hold you back and nothing will guarantee you a good career. P.S. New York City is literally the greatest city in the world buddy...
Not true. In fact assuming you go to a university high school, your high school degree becomes worthless. Same way that nobody asks a PhD where they did there undergrad
I went to 6 different schools (before college), all different levels of class. One was the school with the lowest reputation in the city, and another with one of the most prestigious schools in the country. Words can’t begin to describe the difference in what we were taught
I went to both. Private school is payed for a reason. It's way better. I didn't knew a single curse word, never had missing teachers, learned extra skills that they don't bother with in public school and they made learning fun so I always enjoyed studying.
Public school - random kid cussing and runing threw the hallways Public school teacher - casually closes door Public school nurse - broken bone ICE concusuon ICE bleeding to death ICE
rich parents that can afford private school typically end up having rich kids simply because of the connections and support rich kids are able to have. socioeconomic status growing up is way more important than the damn school you went to
Taylor Ruger it’s not always connections. You seem to only think of corporate and government jobs, and not look at lawyers, doctors, and other professionals.
Some parents work a lot for their kids to go to a Private School. They don't have to be rich... I know people who are not that rich and are in a Private School. So, yeah... I don't know what I'm typing now... Ok, bye!
yea some people get help from the school and some have parents that struggle to afford private school but its fair to say the the majority of people who attend private education are from wealthy backgrounds. ok bye
ChillComrade Same, throughout school, I’ve done some homeschooling and charter schools, went to public school once in elementary and that’s it. I liked the charter experience the best because it’s very small community based and like you said it’s a happy medium between private and public system.
ChillComrade In most American cities, including my own, Boston, they take government money away from the public schools, making the already not so well off public schools even worse, when charters still get more private money.
Spicy Varieties Okay, that there is not true, in america the government gives money to public schools so the kids can remain in school and to pay for stuff. In Charter schools they get state funding with government funding to them and they act independently. My school acts independently meaning they can do more stuff with their own way of education
The problem with private school is that it doesn't give kids a reality check for the most part. I have seen the difference and only about 1/3 of private school kids leave high school with an actual reality check of the world.. Sorry but it's true I've seen it with many other students as well as my own family.
@Jack Miller your right. People in public schools can get tons of reality checks on social media. Tons of different view points, the idea that private schools don't know anything about the real world is false.
It is not just about success. It is also about discipline. Kids who want to learn should not be forced to endure kids who don't want to be there and disrupt learning!😬
I honestly think it is just about where you live. I grew up in Tennessee and both our private and public schools were absolutely amazing. I was always a public school kid, and would never give those memories up for the world. Where I grew up, the public high school allowed every student to have a free chance to get college credit before graduation and one of my nieces is now exiting the public high school with a year’s worth of college credit :)

I am from the UK and all my life went to public (tax paid) primary, secondary school and college while my privellaged cousin who is the same age as me, went to private school and she still didnt even get into a university while I went to a Russell Group uni (ivy league) haha bitch ;).. (I used to get compared to her all the time)
In all fairness going to a private school only realy boosts your educarion when you are smart there are 4 sets in my school so the set 4 ones are as thick as spoons and i go to a private school
Edison Buckner depends.. if you go to elite public school (like Eton), you make contacts for life who can help you success in the future. Because you're mingling with children of CEOs, bankers etc which you usually don't in state and private schools.
I mean knowing people doesn't really speak to the quality of the education, just to the fact that knowing people will always help (even though it shouldn't really affect if you get the job or not).
as someone who goes to a £40,000 public (private) school in England, i must disagree with a lot of the comments i have seen regarding public schools as a waste of money because although my tuition is on the higher end, my classes only have an average of 8 people per class which leads to more personalised and tailored learning. Additionally, there's also a higher chance of getting into a good uni, taking my school as an example, in 2016 over 20% of the graduating year ended up being offered places in Oxbridge and over 97% of the students end up going to one of the Russell group universities. Of course, i do realise that not everyone can afford the tuition but all i have stated is my opinion so feel free to reply with any points you may disagree or agree with. (please note that i did not write this with the intention of having good grammar because i can't really be bothered right now, my sincerest apologies)
chloe I think private schools are definitely an improvement over public schools, but £30,000 is far too expensive. Here in Canada that would amount to around $53,000 CAD, which is slightly higher than the average annual salary of the working population. In terms of getting into better universities, having an average above 90% as well as being a balanced person (extracurricular activities, community involvement, etc.) will normally land you in a top university regardless of the school system you're in. Despite this, I totally understand how personalized schooling might help more students achieve the necessary results to get into better universities/succeed later in life. TL;DR private school has its benefits, but it is cost prohibitive for most people. Edit: I'm a 17-year-old Canadian high school student in the public school system.
I think it is actually helpful to go to private school if you're more of a nerd or talented. Private schools usually cater to your needs more, because they need the money from your parents. Therefore you can get harder work/classes easier, if you need it.
At the same time the catering can sometimes come as a shock when they move into further education, as the lecturers don’t spoon feed you and you have to do the work yourself to asbsorb it, causing some to drop out. I went to private school and went into higher education in the middle of the pandemic and the first year at uni was probably the worst of my life.
Alisson Hernandez I go to private and have lit grades (not sure haven’t kept track. Never come close to failing anything tho). Also there isn’t any real dress code.
Shirley Kim yah, I go to a private school (like 20,000 a year) and I have a friend who switched to public when he moved over a city. What we had learned in 4th and 5th in our private school he was just starting to learn in 7th at his public school
Depends. That’s more common with working class people, due to Americanisation. Public schools generally charge fees, while state schools are funded by the government
In my country the Public school is run by the government but you still have to pay for it. In private school you just need to pay higher but, getting into some of the public school is rlly hard. (Srry for the grammar)
I went to private from 1st-10th grade, then switched to public. The tuition was about $25,000 per year. My spelling, writing, French language and debate skills surpassed public school students by far. I was also very well-rounded in terms of sports and was on the tennis, swim and ski team - which instilled discipline. You also make better social connections at a private school. Private schools are great if you can afford them. Myself and my siblings all went to private, but there is no way we can afford to send our own children this day-in-age.
I don't even want to go to private school Parents: if you go to private school will have wifi (for study purpose (o≖◡≖) Me•u•: yay private is great sign me up 😂😂😂
Private school is also great because they give you a lot of opportunities such as, many after school sports, plays, instruments, athletics training and much more. When I went to public school there was only ukulele lessons (which you shared with anyone else that did this) and the choir.
Mbathroom1 No. Public school sucks. Private and Homeschooling are 10x better than public school. The people do in public school is outrageous, and dumb. No-one is mature with constant fights, and bullies. Private school has well behaved (at least I hope) and more intelligent students as does homeschooling. The only difference between homeschooling and private school is the socializing. Homeschooling doesn't get much of that. But lucky for me, I've made friends when I was in first and second grade and stuck with them since. I went into homeschooling when I was 7 because the school sucked, and learned higher grades than anyone I went to school with. I have surpassed their knowledge and grades from being home schooled, and if I ever went to public school, I would, without a doubt, become an ungrateful, low-low, idiot. I have also learned German and French from being homeschooled and am now learning Italian. You don't know another language, do you? I am already more intelligent by being bilingual, and I am looking into becoming am FBI agent or an Archaeologist. Not a depressed McDonalds employee. I have surpassed your expertise levels, and I know more than you do. I know cooking and play piano. You are nothing to me.
Wtf did I just watch You can learn another language and learn to play piano despite being in public school. Although, depending on where you live, you might need to learn another language on your own.
Not my experience at all. The uniform is very strict, but they are teaching us to be classy young ladies. (Its all girls) and there are about 12 art classes in my school, 50 clubs, and 18 sports. They definitely do not take away our creativity. You should be grateful that your parents paid for you to go there.😐
@@danielled108 tbh, I want to go to private school and I have the option to, but I don't want to go to one thats all girls, one thats religious and separates you by biological gender, or one that has a heavy focus on "being classy young ladies" because I believe that there is no one way females, males, or people in general should be. So I don't mean to be rude, but how do yo say that so casually and as if you like it?
@@danielled108 well, you do you. And I'd rather go to a private school than the online school I do now, or a public school, and I don't mind having to look nice and speak and act in a way that seems a bit too fancy, because I've been raised to use manners and show confidence (though I'll probably immediately be labeled as the quiet kid). I believe you, that its not that much of a focus, and it probably won't bother me. And I do agree about the not taking away creativity thing. I saw that the ones we're looking at have like 10 sports, some have stables or aviaries. They have so many art forms, electives and clubs. I just hope I go to a school that lets me wear shorts instead of only having the option of a skirt, while males get to wear shorts or slacks and can't wear skirts. It seems a bit sexist to me. Thank gosh most of the ones we've been looking at allow you to wear a jumper, skirt, shorts, and girls can even wear slacks in cold weather. I just don't want to be forced to wear a skirt... id like some freedom in that way.
I go to a private school but I have to admit it is full of over protective parents trying to shelter their kids front the world. I mean there might be a few ups but for middle school including lunch and shit it’s like 10 grand a year
teach sought no they don't teach about how rich people live lol I go to a private school and its not how expensive they say in the video we pay 1,200 a year sooo
My school is sorta in between public and private (it's classed as public tho). The uniform is quite expensive and you are expected to wear a blazer if you do band/choir/other options, but we can wear sports uniform any day of the week.
My school is kinda like this to. We have so many fees that it’s like a private school but it is technically a public school. We don’t have uniforms but we have a really strict dress code. Also kids in the clubs that represent the school(SGA) have to wear blazers to school.
I’m from the uk and our schools are public or private too, private being paid for by family etc and public is government funded. I went to private school and loved it.
I hated school all together and barely passed with C's. But still make more money then most people. But, where I lacked book smarts I make up in common sense. I am plumber/carpenter making 210,000$ year after taxes. Soon to be licensed welder and went to community collage for web design.
You make that much after taxes? XD You can't be American then unless you live on the West Coast, in Florida, or in DC. -Either that or you don't do anything but work - in which case I'd rather be poor and actually live my life for more than twenty minutes on the weekend.-
How about giving today's video a like? Why not, right? :) 👍

IKR I have known the same people since third grade.

That was true in grade school, but now I’m a freshman in a private high school and I only know about 10-20% of the freshmen

I have been living a lie.
Classes in my school are 30+ per teacher
Oh wait nevermind
But well, my school is public but my class has only 18 students, while other classes have more than 20, we had 23 students in our class, but 5 students left our school for some reason
... I'm now envy you
I have 34 students in a class 😁
Depends where you at. In Hawaii for example, 30 kids per class is normal while larger classes can be 40-50 kids. Really bad system they had.
Are you from romania, cuz here is the same?
I hate that everyone thinks that all private school students are rich. A lot of us aren’t it’s just that our parents rather us have a good education than having the latest tech and holidays. Personally my parents are always trying to budget everything so that they have the money to pay for private school and I say it’s worth it.
April Oneel i agreed with you because my family aren’t that rich at all. i don’t always get what i want but when it comes to education.. my parents would do anything for it.
What if ur school fee are 30k does that mean ur not rich
April Oneel omg sameee
Public better prepares you for the real world
In the school I use to go to I had a friend who had parents working in tech , and I went to his house and oh my god.

I think this highly depends on the neighbourhood you’re from too. The difference between a public school in a violent and poor city, compared to one in a wealthy, high-end neighbourhood is drastic.

well uh your kinda wrong i go to private highschool (girls only) and i can say i live in a pretty poor neighbourhood
Yea.
Harper Cullen I go to private school, I have a normal house, and my family lived in a safe nieborhood and I no everyone there. Please do not day that
It’s true I just moved from a private school in a really low income area and now I moved to a very rich area (I’m not rich) and it’s so different with this public school it’s a really big change
We had a kid smoke weed in the bathroom at my public school, and he only got suspended for ten days.
Yes i never been bullied at 4 year at private school but i think its depend on the school situation
Late reply but, I wore nail polish one day and I got sent home..to be fair it was my first day!
I’ve been into a Private School from 1st Grade to 9th Grade, I can tell you that the way they discipline in Private School is way more stricter than the Public Schools. I had one classmate who got sent home because his hair was longer than the formal hair we usually have. I would love to be in a Private School again.😔

My experience in private school
- we wear uniforms
- most of the kids are Hispanic or Filipino
- the school has this program where the tution is lowered for you if you don't made that kind of money
- I get better grades and feel more comfortable around others
- There are no lockers
So yeah that's really it

I've been to both, and what I can almost guarantee are that the teachers in a private school care so much more for the students and seem like they actually enjoy their job. I love going to school everyday and sometimes even dread the weekend, this is the case for a lot of my friends as well. It really is shocking when you see posts from people saying that they'd rather die than go to school, or something else that goes to the same extent.
Ravina id rather get stabbed but to survive in critical condition then go to school tbh...
That really sucks for you, honestly, the only thing you can really do when you're in that situation is to look at the positives and keep going. wish you well :)
Im speaking for myself, not on behalf of everyone. This was just my experience.
Public schools can be REALLY bad. The one I'm going to actually makes me enjoy school.
Probably because they have the money to actually pay their teachers.

I go to a private school and i think they’re selective because it isn’t run by the government, and it doesn’t want too many students
samw
Mckenzie Wells no it because private schools are smaller than public schools (most of the time) and so there can’t be too many students plus the government doesn’t run it. At my school there is a certain maximum amount of student in each class so all you have to do is sign up before it is full

I went to a private school for 8 years of my life. I can say without a doubt that these schools gave me a much better education, as sometimes I would ask one of my public school friends a somewhat intelligent question only to be surprised that they were never taught such things in public school. The downside to private school is, of course, the cost. In the end, both types of schools use their students for money, unfortunately.
well yeah of course they want money its their job

It’s not to say that where you went to high school is the only factor which would determine your success in the future (I’m stating in where you go to college per se), but how you utilized your school resources, took all the APs and IBs, and received great grades and SAT scores among other things.
simplymaci The system tryna make slaves my girl.
simplymaci I swear I've seen your name somewhere
That's because the people from public school are usually lower income. This makes them qualify for a lot of government grants and financial aid so that they can afford a high-prestige university.
True, at least in the U.S., the quality of public school depends on the wealth of the district it's in.
Such spam..
My high school is basically a fight club because there is a fight almost every day

I hate when i read a long comment and see no replies under it
Dr. Zoidberg I'm sick and am human, what do you prescribe?
Random Gamer2001 hypermalaria?
My entire school district started this program 2-3 years ago called One 2 One where each student has their own iPad Air for the duration of the school year (high schoolers get a regular sized one and middle schoolers get a mini), so as time goes along and technology becomes even more readily available and necessary, things like this will be the norm (I’m in public school), this is my second year with the iPad as a junior
And with all this, you still forgot how to spell final.
Just because someone goes to private school it doesn’t mean they come from money. At my school more than half of the students receive some sort of financial aid.
Celia Weinrauch same it's payed by the church at my school
But it's no lie that people who go to private school are more often than not rich
i went to a realy small private school last year there only like 6 kids in the 7th grade including me an trust me im not rich
theres people at my public school with houses around 1mil
Celia Weinrauch it does here in the UK you could by asked to pay £700 a month for school like my mum did when I was in primary school...
For Blacks and Hispanics private school is a major pay off! Likewise for minorities who attend suburban or charter schools there are higher graduation rates and college attendance! For minorities private school means becoming part of the middle class and staying there!
I am one of the few black students who went to private school up until 12th grade and I would say it was 8% black
fredrika27 uh I'm Hispanic well my parents are born In Mexico and I was born here in the US so I don't know what I am but I say I'm Hispanic so I go to a private school also it's not a major pay off for us

@@claireconrad876 650?! That's more than my entire school from grades 6-12!
This is the internet, proper grammar is not needed here lol
jaleshashae b. Thank you for saying that cuz I’m tired of people thinking we’re rich
A Google User dude this is a RUclips comment section, not some essay. You must be really bored if your going around correcting RUclips comments lol
Well, still, most of private school's kids come from good money family. And "rich" is all about point of few, yea, you may say that you are not rich but for some people may say that you rich.

I go to a private school and there are only 297 people.
I go public and they had to make the school bigger I think public and private schools are way different
I go to a private school and there is like 1600 kids.
At the private school I go to, there are 192 students (high school)
Layla Brown lmao in my high school there are only 110 students
Add 3000 to that 297 and that's how many students there are in my public school with an estimated 40-50 students each sister and 25-35 sections per grade.
Education is needed ... But the system is what needs to be changed. Up until now a high school senior I've realized it's not learning I hate... It the way the institution is ran. Coming from a 3.8 GPA student
Jamal 4K TM
When I was in HS, the pace was too ridiculous.
DANKMEMSTR can you explain about that? I’m in high school with a slight learning disability
3.8 is really really horrible. i had a 4.0 gpa and was top 1% in the nation for ACT (33) and I did not get into a single university at your age. I applied to a dozen.
Aznwarlord7
This is false.

I agree I go to an English boarding school and the local state school thinks we’re all posh.
Yea I've been in private school all my life except this year (7th grade). But where I live a public school (called government school here) is usually more prestigious. And while most of my current classmates are rich, my private school classmates were all middle class, including me.

@Axroy Roblox cool
YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS COMMENT
Katnissjul my personal experience with public schools is horrible and I go to a private school and it's just a censored version which is better but you gotta realize people who have had experiences like me trying to help others with problems they could encounter
Igney But also, not everyone is going to have the same problems that you did. Let them try it for themselves, and have them make their own decision.
People make fun of private schools more than public
My public school is actually rated higher than the private schools in my state. My public school also has only 240 students. I have also had classes where there were as few as 7 people, which creates a more personal learning experience. Overall, I found myself disagreeing with a lot of things mentioned here.
The low amount of students probably explains that. From what I've seen, schools with a low number of students are usually more pleasant than schools with thousands of students.

Why so... RACIST.
Btw it's "you're", "knew". Also, you have a comma splice.
Just what you did :)
Oh and my sincerest of thanks for your wish of luck, i'm mostly honored, your humble majestic brain !

It has a more disciplined culture which I like and there were almost absolutely no misbehavior incidents which I liked though, so learning was reaching its potential
u got bullied in privat eschool?
**applauds** dang.
Finally someone isn't saying a private school is way better than a public school. I go to a private school and hate it

Queen Vicky na it's alright
Sometimes it's not the teacher in the public school system, it's the students with behavioral problems that disrupt the learning/teaching process.
NVM I DIDNT READ THE SECOND HALF SORRY 😐

Only problem I can see with private schools being banned is that the US is a whole lot more heterogeneous. There are going to be people arguing it's against their rights, gerrymandering will be heavy unless laws are put to defend against that and even then you have to look at the housing in certain areas because when there's a better school, realtor market goes up with or without gerrymandering. Also just getting all the laws required in a place where large majority are huge hypocrites and want unrealistic education standards + extremely low taxes instantly.
Where are the public kids at 🙃
Fortnite Pug , if it make you feel better. My country had a prime minister that went to public school.

There's variance in public school quality for sure.
have you ever been in one
Here, there is no private universities in only province. In Quebec, for example, there was called the private colleges in the name of Jean-de-Brebeuf College.
I go to a private school, it’s $22000 per year but I think the main difference is I’ve been wayyy more academically challenged than I was at my previous public school. At public school everyone just wasted time and didn’t focus on the school work, a lot of them just didn’t care or try. They have much higher expectations for us at my private school. But yeah private or public, nothing will hold you back and nothing will guarantee you a good career.
Try convincing my parents
Stories from private school:
•a kid stuffed a lemon slice in a pipe
•kids have been stealing and selling classroom supplies and clothing from lost and found through a discord chat called “ black market” that almost everyone is in
It is very different in my country.
How is it different?
What country?

So in America there isn't?
Flynny1201 It depends on the tuition you pay to be fair.
also depends what state you are in

Public schools in the Philippines will still make students wear uniforms (From my stance , priv. School uniforms are better , probably because I study in a private school idk)

In Malaysia, every school Ive seen wethere private or public all wear uniform, it's just that the private school produces the uniforms while in public schools you can buy it outside

The system is broken...
My name is Joey No it isn't. The system works perfectly fine. If it were not natural, it wouldn't have existed for all of human history.
No, but I think that's the problem...
The world has changed so much, but the education system hasn't.
This will always be a debate though...
I'm Not Me I used to go to a small private school, it was amazing. But, again, we all think and act, and live differently. Wish you the best
I'm Not Me everything in this world is connected somehow, but most people don't have the brain power to learn everything so they give up and learn nothing, studying only things you need can be helpful but we will never get to our full potential that way
Do you guys wear uniforms?
Abigail Kim yes
The way I see it is that in public schools you’re the employee and in private schools you’re the employer

I go to a charter school, like a private school and at the same time like a public school
ChillComrade Same, throughout school, I’ve done some homeschooling and charter schools, went to public school once in elementary and that’s it. I liked the charter experience the best because it’s very small community based and like you said it’s a happy medium between private and public system.
ChillComrade Correction, they're like the root of all evil.
Spicy Varieties and why is that?

Russian Romanoff acc. Don't you mean state school? Public school is like Eton and Tonbridge.
Russian Romanoff acc. That's great! 😊 Good for you.
as someone who goes to a £40,000 public (private) school in England, i must disagree with a lot of the comments i have seen regarding public schools as a waste of money because although my tuition is on the higher end, my classes only have an average of 8 people per class which leads to more personalised and tailored learning.
Oxbridge? Don't you mean Oxford and Cambridge?
my school and a lot of others here tends to group them together due to their many similarities so we just tend to refer to them as Oxbridge :-)
chloe 70% of Oxbridge students are from Eton...
um no considering Eton is an all boys school and Oxbridge don't have a gender ratio of 7:3
I think it is actually helpful to go to private school if you're more of a nerd or talented.
I go to public and I have straight A's. I also have to wear uniform.

Alisson Hernandez Private school kids are held to a higher standard since we don’t have the normal curriculum that public schools follow.

Wait no in england we think private is the one you pay and public is run by the government
It's santia no it’s not
It's santia that's how it is in America too
Depends. That’s more common with working class people, due to Americanisation. Public schools generally charge fees, while state schools are funded by the government
It's santia yh that's what I thought as well
In my country the Public school is run by the government but you still have to pay for it.

Can you do homeschool vs public school
Wtf did I just watch Do you by any chance watch Rick and Morty, like all the other intellectuals?
Julia Schmeidel public wins hands down
Wtf did I just watch You can learn another language and learn to play piano despite being in public school. Although, depending on where you live, you might need to learn another language on your own.
It depends on the teacher
I went to private school and this is from experience. They take away the students creativity and get rid of any fun. Charter school is the way to go
Not my experience at all.
