Yeah thats why I thought he was a bit stuck up with his questioning. I went to a private catholic school and only 2 of my classes were different. (Athletic PE because we are sports dominated and religion) everything else my public school friends were also taking. Over all the quality and effort put in by some teachers is drastically different but the classes themselves are basic for graduation.
As a person who attends private school, Caden looked the most convincing for me, the way he talked, the way he behaved and especially the things he said about the seniors were so accurate. And Aubrey also looked really convincing, the moment she said Hebrew, like only a couple of school takes it and all of them are private, Not even a mole would think of Hebrew because that's actually so rare, Our school took Hebrew about 4 years ago and It has been a school for decades.
He appears more public school than private school. He comes off far more upper class. I'm super confused by the whole thing since I would have thought that the two "public school children" when to a state school. Certainly they didn't come across as having attended a public school.
@@aquilamflammeus5569 Are you from the US? The meaning of “public school” is different here than in other countries. In the US, typically upper class kids go to private school and working class kids go to public school (though there’s plenty of exceptions to that rule). “State school” isn’t a thing, unless we’re talking about college/university.
@@Olivia-wg8gv Ah yeah I'm not from the US. Public school here is the top tier or private school. Then you have regular private schools and finally state schools.

@@brysonsutterby2282 Thats any smaller school though. I had around 300 kids in my grade at private catholic school and if someone didn't like you it would just be like regular petty drama or a fight but the entire grade didnt care unless it affected them was just interesting to watch lol.
I was so captivated by Olivia’s personality. She was so proper and polite to the max, and like almost a “stereotypical” private school student image, and she didn’t seemed spoiled at all and seemed kind and polite overall.
As someone that went to a public school for elementary and switched to a private school for high school, I definitely expected most of my classmates to seem very spoiled and obnoxious but it wasn’t really like that. For most of the students, being filthy rich (and being surrounded exclusively by other extremely wealthy people) was just a normal part of their life, so not that many people acted spoiled or purposefully flaunted their wealth.
Christian schools tend to focus heavily on character building. Education can sometimes be better, but it's typically less about better academics and more about instilling certain values and morality.
Most kids I know who go to a Christian school aren’t rich or spoiled. Their parents just want a more sheltered environment. Olivia seems so calming to be around.
I go to a private school which is Christian, have been for my whole life and it's like you can get low grades or whatever it's okay but if you don't follow the manners they teach, you're dead.
Olivia was so sweet. She didn’t speak over anyone and spoke confidently. She seemed like a private schooler to me but she was also very polite. She also didn’t throw the money and went on her hands and knees to clean the money up
In my country many students goes to a private school. Even those who are poor send their kids to private school because the government schools are just so bad.
As a private schooler, I can say that wealth and opportunity is the only difference between private/public school students. I’ve met intelligent students from low performing public schools who haven’t had access to the academic resources, extracurricular activities, and network that have allowed me to succeed in life.
"wealth and opportunity is the only difference" lol sorry but no. That's not real life. An average person who can afford private school for their children probably has a higher IQ than the one who can't afford. And the children of the higher IQ will likely to be smarter than the other kid whose father can't afford a private school. Of course I'm not saying that this is true in general, but on average, it is true. And I haven't even mentioned that it is scientifically proven that eating healty in the early ages has a significant role in brain development. Sure, you can say this is a part of the "wealth" you were talking about, but this happens before they even go to the school. By the time they are old enough to go to the school, there is already a difference between a kid whose parents can afford a private school, and another kid whose parents can't afford. And it's because the first kid had more access to healty food, and that contributed his brain development. Meanwhile the poor kid was fed with unhealty food probably. I'm not saying a kid from private school is smarter than a public school kid, but if you do the same IQ test in a private school and in a public school, chances are the private school probably will average more. And that is just real life.
Props to Tom for actually trying to look the part of a private school student! It was obvious that Caden was a private school student from the very beginning.

I switched from public to private school in my last year and literally the only difference was that the private school had more security and stricter rules. Education should always be equal opportunity. The private schoolers here seemed a bit more snobby and aggressive.
Owen and Caden were aggressive, even obnoxious at times. The others weren’t. Edit: @Yeast pointed out to be that the name is Caden, not Jaden. I apologize and edited it.
I totally agree, I transferred to a private school my last two years and there really wasn’t much of a difference in terms of education. The only difference besides what you talked about was maybe the kids attitudes about learning, like for the most part they wanted to be there or they put effort in their classes.

I looked up Harvard Westlake, the school on the shirt she was wearing. Their dress code actually is pretty similar to public school dress codes, despite being a private school.
Audrey is literally me when she couldn't remember her last class. Like I'm in university and only taking 4-5 classes and I can't even remember them all when someone asks....its bad. I haven't finished the video yet but Caden's response to her not remembering and judging her makes me think he's 100% a private school kid lol.
yeah that's pretty normal. at my university if you randomly ask someone to list off their classes for the quarter, most of them will struggle to name at least one class lol
Honestly, as a Swiss person it is wild to me that in some countries private schools are so common. In my opinion this is a sign of great inequality especially if privat schools are considered better since they are not accessible to everyone.
As an Austrian, I feel the same way. There are of course some private schools that also cost 50k+ per year, but it is completely normal to go to state schools.
As South African in my area there's more private than public and this only became a thing more recently. But there are areas with zero private schools because it's a poor area
If the education is better and you can afford it its worth it in my country.... Bt yeah its easy to identify who went to public school and who didn't when you are in uni....
@bill smith not all private schools are the same. A school near me has tuition of 25k. The tall kid in this video said his tuition was 50k. I went to a private school overseas for a year, and that was 15k. if depends the school
Being in a private boarding school, it really makes me feel bad when some public school kids call me “one of those girls” like I’m some rich snob. If they don’t think I’m rich, they usually think I have behavioral issues. If not behavioral issues, I probably have no parents. It’s a never-ending cycle really
Maybe not a snob but I mean shits like 20k a year if your parents aren’t dead or you don’t have behavioral issues. So I mean your parents gotta be breaded atleast

I've been in private school since the very first day I started studying in school, but I'm not that confident in public speaking, I think it really depends on the person! I think it's because I am not from the US and the education system there works differently compared to my country, but I do think that private schoolers are more reserved and eloquent :)
Okay when Halle asked about the diversity and race in his school he totally dodged or misunderstood the question. Saying you have clubs and directors for equality and diversity does not guarantee diversity 😂 He did not say if it was like mainly Caucasian, pretty mixed etc, which I'm pretty sure what she was asking. I was curious about this too
him not being able to answer the question and skirt around the answer was the dead giveaway he's a private school kid and halle saying her school was diverse is the dead giveaway that she wasn't lol
Usually if they have staff involved in diversity then it is diverse unless they are really having trouble finding students of diversity to go there or they’re liars about how diverse there school is meant to be
I straight up knew Halle was the mole just from what she said at the start from private schools being 7-12 but seriously the amount of pressure the group put onto her though..
Private school kids are not rich. That’s an ignorant statement. Many private schools can cost 10k a year. Literally less than buying a new car. It’s more about money management than being rich. In fact assuming you need to be rich to just attend a private school shows how uneducated the avg person is. Now if a private school costs over 30k a year; at that point you would most likely need to be wealthy without a scholarship of course.
Some people spend a large amount of their income just to send their kid/kids to a private school. Where I'm from in Australia the school you go to can heavily affect your ATAR, not everyone who goes to a private school has a massive amount of disposable income.
I am surprised Caden wasn't voted out for how annoying he was. You guys seem to misunderstand what I’m saying. In other videos, children have been voted out for annoying other players. The kids seemed annoyed by Caden so I am shocked he wasn’t voted out.
As someone who went to private school during 9th grade, this video was so relatable. Like especially how quickly rumors spread, everyone knew eachother and by the end of the day everyone knew the drama, it was crazy. Personally I loved it but not attending this year because I no longer have free tuition but private school was pretty great imo
it's odd to me how halle had to over-explain every single detail of her attending private school while olivia just had to say she was in a christian school and did chapel and everyone was fully convinced
As someone who attended public school my entire life it’s really crazy to see how they all view public school as this absolute nightmare. I went to the same school from k-8 and knew everyone by name. We had small class sizes and amazing resources. For high school I was in a Stem Program that also had small class sizes and amazing resources. It’s not about how much money you can pay. It’s all about resources. Some of the top schools are public but just in affluent areas.
I totally agree- the way they talked about public school really surprised me, public schools can give just the same education and its not like the people who can afford the private school or go toprivate schools are better in any way
It's like if you're not tough enough for public school your parents move you to a private school hoping you'll be in a more cushiony situation. Public school wasn't a nightmare but u have to be quick and chill enough with more chaos I think.

@@hellothere4285 he was incredibly confident for his age would understandably annoy some people, he was probably groomed since childhood to act like a leader and take control of the room
Especially when he projected the typical public school stuff onto catholic schools at the end or acting like private schools dont have the same classes as public schools (i went to a private catholic school only different classes I had were Athletic PE cuz I attended a sports dominated school and religion literally everything else was the same)
I went to public school but i was almost always in honors or IB classes. The few times i took classes with non-IB students there was a huge contrast in both quality of education and the students themselves. A lot of the complaints of public schools im seeing in the comments wasn’t a big concern when you were in advanced classes so it would be interesting to see a video on kids in programs like IB or AP students versus those in standard classes. I know at least at my school there was also generally just a huge division between the two almost like we were in different worlds and the IB program kinda encouraged kids to see themselves as somewhat “superior” creating even further division. Also I cant speak much on AP but i know theres more freedom and you can take only one at a time whereas IB requires essentially all of your classes except maybe certain electives to be IB (plus lots of summer projects, community services, TOK, etc) which means you almost never find yourselves in classes with non-IB students
Same here! Even though my school was tiny, I still ended up being in classes with the same 20 or so people from 5th grade to the end of high school, and there was a definite separation between those classes and the few times I was in classes with the other people in my grade.
Same. Middle school sixth grade I was put in “intensive” classes and basically it was impossible to learn… Kids misbehaving causing the teachers to call security every single day. It was horrible. 8th grade I got put into advanced classes and not once was security called. There’s such a big contrast. High school I got into Ap’s and everything runs so much smoother.
I agree and being in the gifted program from elementary to high school I think makes those students very stuck up too (almost like the stereotypical private schooler) bc u are literally taught that u are smarter than your classmates
@@aryssaebbeler4316 100% it was the culture of IB to think of everyone else as “the standard kids” with a sort of disdain. Countlessly i heard the “standard kids” being referred to mockingly. IB kids also had exclusive banquets and gatherings that only added to this superiority complex. I’ll also say IB was so toxic that when we met AP kids from other schools we still thought of ourselves as “superior” because our program was more “intensive” supposedly
I was fortunate enough to go to private school on a scholarship. Without that, I wouldn't have been able to go. However, scholarship students like myself were a very small percentage. Most people at my school came from families with money 😅

Public school doesn’t have free lunches for everyone, only for the kids who have free reduced lunches. And even then, at my old public high school at least, the free lunch was a crappy ham and cheese sandwich
My public elementary school had free lunch for everyone because it was a title 1 school. So yes public schools can have free lunches for everyone it just depends where you live
That's not entirely true as I've been to one that did have free lunch and you only had to pay for anything extra you got. Also, a lot of schools switched to free lunch because of covid.
In my district it is all free crappy food. The food tastes so bad that kids will ask strangers for other food and if you eat the school food the proportions are not enough. This is s a problem because they only let you eat once so kids will steal food from the cafeteria.
I find it really surprising that only private schools seem to have those special subjects, clubs etc. Ich go to a public school and it still has all of those options so I don't have to pay anything and still get some cool stuff to do
Yall should talk to the graduates of 2021 and how they missed out on so much of their highschool life. Overall make a new segment talking to different highschool classes. I feel like it would be fun to get to know what they did back in their youth and what was taught. As always great video

not an attack but the fact that software engineers aren’t considered rich kinda screams private school lol. in most public schools, that would be considered rich because both parents are probably both making six figures each like they may not be in the 1% but def like 5-10% at the very least and enough to afford private school w v little to no aid
as someone who's in the private school enviorment, unless you have other close friends who you share a similar backround with, you really don't talk much about what your parents do. probably a trait passed down from the old money students as yk for filthy rich its an unspoken rile that you shouldn't talk about money.

I went to public schools my whole and got nothing but love and respect from my teachers and peers even though I didn't have many friends. the only reason public school is hated is because of the lack of funding for them and many public schools especially in low income part of America have terrible education because of the government not funding them and this makes kids vulnerable to gangs and crime

The thing about seniors is literally every high school Lol

@@aquilamflammeus5569 Are you from the US? The meaning of “public school” is different here than in other countries.
Her school is a Christian school. Most Christian schools have very different dynamics than the typical "rich elite" type of schools.

@@sparklefairy8544 Why would she be eaten alive?
@@sparklefairy8544 Why would she? It depends on the public school. Public schools are extremely varied.
plenty of opportunities in hollywood...
As a private schooler, I can say that wealth and opportunity is the only difference between private/public school students. I’ve met intelligent students from low performing public schools who haven’t had access to the academic resources, extracurricular activities, and network that have allowed me to succeed in life.
I guess it depends on the type of private schools. Kids at gifted schools are on a whole another level.
Thank you for recognizing this, I'm not sure why it's so hard for people to admit what a huge privilege it is

Same here! Even though my school was tiny, I still ended up being in classes with the same 20 or so people from 5th grade to the end of high school, and there was a definite separation between those classes and the few times I was in classes with the other people in my grade.

not an attack but the fact that software engineers aren’t considered rich kinda screams private school lol. in most public schools, that would be considered rich because both parents are probably both making six figures each like they may not be in the 1% but def like 5-10% at the very least and enough to afford private school w v little to no aid
as someone who's in the private school enviorment, unless you have other close friends who you share a similar backround with, you really don't talk much about what your parents do. probably a trait passed down from the old money students as yk for filthy rich its an unspoken rile that you shouldn't talk about money.
@@pastelgirl6615 honestly, yeah. Hadn't even really thought about that
I was in private school for 10 years and I was in the same class as a lot of my classmates since kindergarten and I couldn't tell you what a lot of their parents did. They knew what my mom did cause she taught at our school and there were a couple other kids like that, a couple parents came in for junior achievement so I knew what they did, or they were my friends so I knew what their parents did, but for the majority of kids in my class, I have no clue (and there were only 20 people)
There's something about seeing a group of private school kids playing a game and winning all the money over the public school kids lmao
But hey I guess that's how the game works, it could've gone the other way too
btw, someone who was cast in one of these videos said that the cash prize is only like 100-200 dollars in total. so they werent really missing out that much.
Not all private schoolers are wealthy lmao
@@jamesblackburn1162 maybe, but private school is crazily expensive so most-all are at the very least higher middle class.
Scholarship kids are still a thing lol
4:49 That was so unexpected and sudden. He is really well spoken for his age
As a former public school student, this one was clear as day from the beginning. Both the public school kids seemed nervous, and they were supposedly going to non-religious private schools but they couldn't describe the school's purpose (gifted, Montessori, etc.)
Public schools may suck but its free. It helps out alot of people including myself. In the end, University is were it matters
wait what public school is free?
Here in south Africa its not
@@bigbadbodypillow The terminology varies between country. In the UK public school is a synonym for private school (don't know why!) - and state school is what we call free state provided education.
@@charlienewbold9809 It is not. I don't know where you live but in the UK. public school means free school and private is independent and payed for.
@@happycactus9649 in the uk, public schools are independent schools that are very expensive (like eton where the royals go). private schools are schools you pay for but less prestigious than public. state schools are free and run by the government :)
@@bigbadbodypillow in India public schools are free
It shouldn't have to be said but please don't hate on these kids.
No for real because I’ve seen hate comments and like…they’re 12
also, stop!! being!! mean!! about any of these kids!! once again they are KIDS and i don't care how "privileged" you think they are. for the record, as someone who is actually an adult, every single one of these kids seemed sweet and respectful. have some empathy; if you're an adult, you remember exactly how awkward and stressful middle school was, and i'm sure none of you would like to be called racist, rude, obnoxious, stuck-up, etc based on a 15 minute clip of you at age 13. once again, if any of the kids are reading this, i'd like to say that you guys should definitely not take these comment sections to heart! most of the negative commenters are extremely jealous and bitter and it has nothing to do with you.
Exactly
Thank you!! Common sense
Thanks for saying this. This comment section is a lot more ‘obnoxious’ than the kids in the video.
exactly
Thank you!! This comment section ain’t it
As someone who went to private school, they picked the most private school kids I’ve ever seen- rich and annoying 💀
Yes I agree, especially Caden.
*STORYTIME: I went to private school for all my life except the last two years of high school, so I know both lives. I’m a senior now, and I can say I 100% miss the small-school community. We were like a family and every student and teacher knew each other, and because it was a private school there was so much flexibility and we didn’t have to submit to the district superintendent. But public schools have way more plus points!! Diversity is amazing! I was the only brown person at my old school. But at my new school there are people I share the same Indian hometown with!! Also there are so many programs and opportunities. And the best part is that it’s FREE! Private school is just not worth $12k every year... ok done with my Ted talk ❤️❤️*
i am finishing my elementary and middle school years at a private school and soon heading to a very big and public high school soon so it’s nice to know how you feel about both. i hate my current private school so i’m very excited for a change
So public school is better!¿!¿ i go to private and i thought that was wayyyy better than public cuz public is free and private is $16, 600 a month. Wow.
I also went to private school all my life aside from 2 years of public in high school. However for me I did public freshman and sophomore year and then transferred to an extremely small private school with the first graduating class of only 9 seniors! It’s easier to blend into the background at public school but my private school felt extra judgmental and much more academically challenging but the students were nice for the most part. I’m glad I got to experience both.
Private is usually better academically via stastics but otherwise I prefer public. More likely to get better education in private schools
@@queen_6201 it’s better based on academics but overall atmosphere, extracurricular& social life is much better at public schools
As an Australian I find this really funny just because I go to a public school and it sounds way more strict than this in terms of uniform. I'm talking only navy or dark grey socks, same with hair ties, no jewellery except for one earring in each ear, knee length hem lines and black leather shoes only. If you are caught breaking these more than twice they'll send you home to get changed.
Kiwi here & same 😂😂
Omg i am Australian and we dont have a strict dress code. and im in a public hs all u have to do is wear the uniform
fr in UK they are so strict
As an Aussie this is super interesting to watch and pick out the similarities and differences between schools in America and schools here in Australia. For example pretty much every school, public or private wears a school uniform here
Same for the UK- pretty much every school has a uniform, Ive never seen any school with no uniform (secondary and primary)
@@yuriyuma7285I'm British and was born in London and my school didn't wear uniforms we just wore normal clothes now I live in Michigan and schools here are so different then in London
I LAUGHED SO HARD AT 3:55 WHEN HE SAID "WAIT YOU 1500 PEOPLE IN EACH CLASS" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣
DAMN Private school is that expensive?? Food better be free at that point
Bruh nothing is free at a private school. Private schools loving nothing nore than money
Yeahhhh its not
Nope
for $50k Mozart better come back alive and teach me himself goddamn
It’s free at mine, but only as of this year. It used to only be free to boarding students
It always puzzled me how private schools abroad are sooo "cool" while in my state if you go to a private highschool one of the 2 thoughts people have is "they must have had a hard time passing classes/socialising in public school" and the 2nd is "they must be rich"
as someone who goes to a public school I disagree with the part that we don’t learn the same stuff we most definitely do everything they said was they same just except that fact that they’re private and we’re public. I swear we all for the most part turn out the same.
Yeah I don’t even feel like private school education is that much better
@@newjjjjj927 seriously. it’s just the fact the name has so much power
@@newjjjjj927 agreed honestly it all depends on the area u live in.
There are public schools that have been ranted higher than private school. They have more to offer to students.
Do you guys have English classes like “literature of Africa” and “literature of South America”. Or is it just called english
@@WendyNation no it’s just called English and the grade number after it

This brought back so many memories , I’ve been to private schools public schools and I’m currently at an environmental school. Private schools have definitely been the most relaxed and scheduled schools I love them.
Environmental school? What's that?
It intresting to see how kids have relationships with their schools. I went to private snd was bullied out of it. Now i go to public snd I love it. I get less attention from teachers but its more diverse so i can find my people
5 homeschoolers vs 2 secret public schoolers would be a great concept
3:19 love how she was just like “okeh”
ikr
why do people hate public schools so much. I went to public schools my whole and got nothing but love and respect from my teachers and peers even though I didn't have many friends. the only reason public school is hated is because of the lack of funding for them and many public schools especially in low income part of America have terrible education because of the government not funding them and this makes kids vulnerable to gangs and crime
personal bad experiences with public schools makes people generalize all public schools as whole
@@AmiriHipHop no you’re but do you agree that public schools which have been in history for thousands of years are not getting any funding like in America
I depends on what dominates in your country and the quality of education... My mom teaches in public school and I've only been to private schools since she knows its better than in my country eg right now public schools dont teach English till you get to third grade... If thats not butchering the education tell what while in private schools you learn all the subjects in English from pre-k AMD public schools wait to get all English subjects till secondary
Depends on your zip code
i mean there are many reasons as to why someone would hate public school, and the same could be said for private school. as someone who’s been to both public and private school, i personally liked the private school better just because it was smaller. i have really bad anxiety and i don’t do well in public spaces with a lot of people so being in a small private school really helped with that lol
I live in Ireland where private school isn't really a thing other then in Dublin. There's definitely a difference in colleges but not in primary and secondary school. It's baffling to me how people pay so much for everything in America.
One thing people should keep in mind about private (international) and public schools is that they can be very different in different countries
For example private schools in Greece versus public schools are super different
in France most kids go to public school because private school supposed to be only for kids that cause trouble is what I’ve heard from my friend who lives in France
Exactly! Here in my country the school system is very diff.. Idk why majority of ppl in the comments stereotyping all schools based of, of their experiences..
It would have been so interesting to see a charter school kid thrown into the mix. I go to a very academic charter school, and I found it to be VERY similar to a lot of the private school kids' experiences.
I went to public school for kindergarten, did online public school 1-6th grade, traditional homeschooling 7-10th grade, and then pseo full time at home (free college in high school) 11-12th grade, and then I went to a private college for my last two years of college. I’d have to say that my favorite was college but I also got to take my major’s classes for those last two years and loved it.
May I ask why you didn't go to in person school and then decided to get homeschooled? How do you make friends in that situation? and which did you like better public school or homeschool?
@@inanimatemist8610 it was better for my parents and our schedule for our hobbies and sports and activities. I don’t remember public school much but both definitely have their pros and cons. I could have made more friends while doing school at home but I was kinda shy. College was the best school experience I loved it.
